I love the fact that Brompton recommend "upgrading" to the Advanced roller or Easy wheels straight off the bat. Why do they bother factory fitting the standard roller wheels when they know, and we know they are crap? Surely its not saving them that much on their C and A line price point? My brand new C line frame and suspension block are chewed up due to using the rolling mode with the standard roller wheels. Thanks guys.
1:20 Top IRL Tip , Get a Easy Wheel Extender. It gives you a few centimeters more so the Suspensionblock will be save at all Time. Plus your Bike is way more Stable while rolling in any Configuration that is not Bike Mode. Why Brompton don't makes the Wheel (Frame) tubes a bit longer to prevent this rubbing in the first place is still a Mystery to me.
@codak29 😐 • • • well, Easy Wheel Extender that lifts the Bike and shifts the Center of Mass. Obviously, it works best extended. It's the entire purpose of it and the "unstable " part. Maybe your bike is too top-heavy. Maybe there is too much stuff on the handbar? No Rearrack that gives more contact points to the ground and weight at the bottom? Still the tiny original Brompton wheels? It could be something small like this. Otherwise, I couldn't think of a reason to have these problems.
I just hang the Brompton by the saddle on my shoulder and then fold it if I need to store it. As a trolley mode for grocery shopping, having the rear rack is good to move it around easier. Usually I push it by the saddle.
I hang the Brompton on my shoulder too if I’m walking a short distance i.e over a railway bridge etc, easy to rest it by the seat on your shoulder. The Brompton is too unbalanced imo when folded to be pushed or pulled along unless you have a rear rack and 4 wheels to give it stability.
@@jazzfan7491 brompton doesn't fall apart when pushed from behind unless you tilt it. Alternatively, get a longer saddle tube or a seatpost stopper allows you to extend the seatpost a bit.
Still tough to roll my electric c on office building's carpet. I cannot wait until I get bigger roller wheel....or even rear rack. That small little wheel on fender also doesn't help.
That doesn't help me when coming off the train with my Brompton. I don't want to unfold it on the train platform, prefer to roll it folded to the street first.
Please refer to your User guide/manual for the correct gap between lowered Seatpost and the Stop Disc, 2mm?, your gap was/is too generous. A good video and thanks for sharing. Take care.
With a rack it’s easy, just don’t let the saddle go to the latest point then just push it. Without a rack it’s just not possible. Even if you follow the instructions in this video.
My missus has B75 which is basically pre A-Line A-Line, there’s so much more than just a colour unfortunately, it’s amazing for entry level but if you wish to get it all like C line there’s loads to replace which all adds up. I’ve only added mudguards, replaced seat, brake leavers with gear shifter and pedals to folding ones. Wanted to replace handle bar grips too to realise I have to replace whole bar if I want industry standard / C Line 130mm grips… Don’t get me wrong, couldn’t be happier with my B75 but wiser would have been to go with C Line from the get go.
White's the best base color if you want to paint it another color. Just go to your local hardware store and get some rattle cans. I'm looking at buying an A, and I might eventually paint it my dream concept paint job: A light coat of Hammertone in one color, thin enough that the "eyes" don't occur, then a 2nd thicker coat of another color, so the "eyes" do occur, showing the color underneath.
@@lsamoa That's what I said, "unless you lift the handlebar side", and it's still awkward to do because of the weight. I used to push the suspension block with my foot to lift it, possible only with a wheel extender because it increases the height from the ground. On the other hand, lifting it from saddle side without a rack brakes it because of the folded front wheel and the tiny fender wheel. Anyway, stopping everytime just because you need to make a turn is super uncomfortable. How is it straight forward?
She has her seat to far forward that’s gonna stress the rails. Better to set the seat back into range and adjust the bars back a little to get the fit IMHO
I finally got a brompton last year . On the first day I used it the chain kept on slipping and the ring bell flew away. I emailed the Coven Garden workshop to get it fixed and I am still waiting for an answer... so I went to another retailer and they accused me of buying the bike second hand/ modified.... I showed them the receipt..... they then explained me that the ring bell is a goner and since it s fixed on the bike they can't do anything about it, and the chain is the wrong one, I had a p line chain on my c line bike ..... so they charged me to replace it even thought the bike is supposed to be under 7 year guarantee .......I emailed the customer support about the whole fiasco of me ridding to work through traffic with a bike that was faulty and putting me at risk of an accident and that I had to pay to get my bike "fixed" even though it obviously wasn't my doing, and the only thing they would do is offer a refund for the chain, not the service or a compensation for putting me at risk or offer a replacement bike since it obviously was a FAULTY bike...... LONG STORY SHORT THE BIKE IS BACK IN BOX, NEVER USED IT AGAIN, BACK TO MY FAITHFULL RALEIGH. £1600 WASTED
Wasn't trolling, just exposing my personal experience so people know that those bikes aren't worth the hype they get. And I paid over £1600 for faulty bike that needed the chain replaced and a bell that cannot be fixed and so used just once because i don't know what else is wrong with that bike. I contacted Brompton on facebook and my message is still unanswered to this day...Thinking that i used it in London with all traffic around me, that the chain kept on jumping, that when i took it to get it check, the mechanic almost me told me off because he thought i bought it modified from ebay , and he only calmed down, not apologised just calmed down, when i showed him the one week old receipt from Brompton. And I had to pay for the new chain chain and the work. So I guess I can EXPRESS HOW DISAPPOINTED I AM WITH MY PURCHASE, CAN'T I ?! OR YOU KNOW BETTER ?!!?!?
Without a rack it’s just not possible. Even if you follow the instructions in this video. It’s just crazy that you don’t get a rack on a 3600 euro electric Brompton.
Better to just ride it around in the shops. I bought a cheap bike in Target and test-rode it in the store. They didn't like that, but they didn't complain when I paid for it haha.
I've been riding this bike for about a month ruclips.net/user/postUgkxwC0IIeIomGQVeBWg-kKJaToZkLEFIA2W and a half now and I think it's fantastic. It helps me get to work on time every day since I'm able to fit it inside of public transportation rush hour. The price is great too, people are always shocked when they ask me how much I paid for the fold up and I tell them "200". It's easy to fold and installation when it ships is insanely easy. All you have to install when the bike arrives is one foot pedal, everything else is done for you. I do recommend you carry some sort of wrench to tighten any loose screws on the handle bar and seat whenever they get a little bit loose. Other than that I think it's a fantastic bike. Easily fits in the home, can fit inside a car trunk and can even fit in subway rush hour.
Looks unpractical and uncomfortable, even on the smallest bumps. Best way to carry your Brompton around is unfolded like a normal bike or fully folded lifted from the saddle

Have to agree. It’s ridiculous considering the price point
Because the smaller wheeled version fits in airline overhead cabin storage.

Both with and without Rack and Extender Combo.

How do you know more than Brompton?
Unpractical advice when you're down in the tube, changing trains and have to walk both flat, and up and down stairs, sometimes 3-5-10 mins
Did you even used one for daily commuting to and from work?
You need to fold and roll it a lot.
