    This is fun to see. I had the original Ram Man as a kid (no idea where it is now unfortunately). It was one of my favorite toys. I even remember just playing with the ramming action over and over without even any game or anything.

    My favourite at of the lot! Had the original in 83'ish, lost him under the decking at my parents house not long after when I was a kid, and found him again in 2015, when my parents renovated there deck:). But this version is a beast!

    Hey Pixel Dan. Great review. I was lucky enough to pre-order these from Super7 way back when. And I must say I am not disappointed. I have always been a big Masters Of The Universe fan from way back in the days. Unfortunately, when I got back into collecting the line was in full swing. I missed a lot of the core characters. So I chose not to go down the rabbit hole. When I heard about the license switch I was all in. I guess I will go down the rabbit hole if I can get in early. Rammy was one I was really looking forward to the most. A little bummed about the better paint on the older figure but overall I am happy with this figure in particular and the line in general. Great job.

      Awesome. Glad to hear! I think YOU are the target audience for these Ultimate figures. Reissuing some of these core characters that became hard to get was a great idea for Super7 to start off, imo.

    I like this one overall as well, the armor while a let down in some ways, is also not a big deal to me. Makes him stand out from the original even more. My only real issue with this is that his hands are painted for some reason (like Skeletor's are) instead of being molded in the same flesh tones as the rest of the figure. Excellent vid as always though Dan!

  • @pjgathergood6987

    Awesome to finally see Ram Man released in his vintage box art colours - the colour scheme that I always wanted him in as a boy, instead of his red and green "Christmas tree" scheme. It's a shame they didn't go even a little way towards some of the metallic detailing on his armour as it would have made it 'pop' even more; I know the figure is bigger (more plastic) than most, but bearing in mind he only has one accessory (axe looks a little off shape but not severely) and a spare head, I thought they could have done this at least.
    But the face sculpt is perfect, and one fun little 'easter egg' - one of his feet is curved upwards, as to replicate that 'walking' stance from the classic box illustration.

    Yes!!! The reason I started collecting the "classics" was that the first few waves were sculpted and articulated just like the original cardbacks! That was my starting point as a 3-4 year old, along with all the vehicles, Castle Grayskull, posters that are *real* art! I'd rather have my 3ftX2ft poster of "He-Man and the Power Sword" on my wall than the Original Mona Lisa anytime!
    Dan, I apologize sincerely if I upset you earlier. I have taken those issues up with #Super7 and in the fleeting moment thought posting those qualms to you and your page would garner more attention to the issues that are their fault, not yours. But considering the cost compared to flaws, MOC broken figures with "Derpy" eyes and often can't even stand due to lack of quality control (how the heck did so many different figures have their shoulders on wrong before someone noticed? Inexcusable).
    I like you, your channel, I've enjoyed seeing you develop a nice, clean format from opening box to comparison time.
    Question-does Horde Prime (aside from the silly "Fraggle Rock" alien head) pass as a good looking match for my (Buzz Saw) Hordak, Horde Wraith? Hope you're feeling better!

    Ok Pixel Dan, I am here as a toy enthusiast that has gripes with pre order and limited quantity on items such as these. I loved MOTU as a kid (born in 1980) and my grandma spoiled me rotten with these things but I didn't know the pain of hunting these thing down until the show release in early 2000's. I had to collect those because I am an avid fan and still have a lot from my childhood. While He-Man figure wasn't the best all the other figures were AWESOME. I collected up until the last line of the Statues. It was brutal. I traveled to store after store and paid some crazy online prices. I had to stop. It was becoming a very expensive habit. Now we even more to collect but its still as expensive and hard to get..... Why is something that is supposed to bring joy brings such pain and suffering. Does it always have to be about the Benjamin's?? Oh wait I live in America so I know the answer. YES! As much as nostalgia draws me to these if one isn't given special privilege to acquire then it ain't worth pulling hair trying to find or pre order these or any in the past. They are one of my favorite toy lines overall but man it hurts knowing its impossible to collect them all or even the ones I would want over others. I normally don't write like this but i feel the need now for some reason.
    BTW I have a San Diego Comic-Con Keldor that I might be considering selling if the price is right if anyone is interested.

    • @Pixel-dan
      @Pixel-dan  7 лет назад +3

      The Pre-Order system is tough. I know it's not ideal. But at this stage, I think this is the only way they can produce these. They produce them in limited quanities because, as much as we all love MOTU, the public demand isn't really there for these figures. Even Mattel is still sitting on stock from a lot of their Classics figures that they have been trying to sell off on Mattel Shop. We're just living in an age where toys like this are very expensive to produce, and toy companies, especially smaller ones like Super7, can't afford to overproduce stock and sit on it forever. That's why they are doing the made-to-order model with these. That way they know exacly how many people are buying them. Without new media, (cartoon, movies, etc) its very hard to get the general public (and kids!) to care about this stuff. It's also near impossible to get a retail store to carry toys without some sort of mass-madie tie-in. So again, I totally get the frustration. Toy collecting can be tough, and very expensive. I'm just trying to shed a little light on the business side of things. Not saying I like it. :-)

    Great review as always, I for one prefer this color palette though I agree some paint shading or metallics would kick it up a notch. I like the mini comic colors but maybe that's because I don't see red and green that well lol.

    One of the great things of the original series from Mattel was that each figurine had a special and unique feature - the spring action for Ram Man for example. Too bad they didn't honor this in these new series.

    • @pjgathergood6987
      @pjgathergood6987 7 лет назад

      But aren't all of the Super 7 figures in this range like that too? In fact, some of them are barely even repaints.

    • @timf7413
      @timf7413 6 лет назад

      Unlike all the other figures released in the Ultimates line (so far). Ram Man didn't have multiple releases with multiple pieces/display options/accessories, so they couldn't really do more with this figure than we did, which is probably why they opted to go for a complete repaint to perhaps add some novelty. Plus, as Dan mentions in the video, the original release was a deluxe figure with a cost increase.

    • @timf7413
      @timf7413 6 лет назад

      As I understand it, the idea behind the Ultimates is to do reissues but also include accessories from across the various releases of that character. Ram Man only had one release in the original classics line, so a total repaint was essentially all the could do to set it apart.

  • @vf1rj371
    @vf1rj371 6 лет назад +1

    "He comes with less accessories"? He comes exactly with the same accessories as the first motuc Ram Man. The only differences are the packaging and colors. Everything else the same.

  • @Fnordathoth
    @Fnordathoth 6 лет назад +1

    I absolutely despise the fact that they didn't give him springy legs in either the Classics or Ultimates version. Without even trying I can think of a way to do that and still have the full articulation in the legs. Add to that the lack of silver on this "Ultimates" edition and I'm sorry but this is pointless.

      Maybe an additional head that the previous figure didn't have, an additional accessory, a re-sealable package. something! It's kind of an F you to the people that already spent the money for the first release. I know he is more plastic than the others, but still...
