Is this actually the only way to rank for a competitive keyword in ios? I mean people talk about optimising keywords, title and such but assuming you've done that, you're still not gonna rank for a popular keyword, or even a not so popular keyword...so how do you get up there? You can't expect to get downloads and reviews to boost your ranking since you'll need rankings to get downloads in the first place. So it seems to me the only way is to use apple search ads to target the keywords you want to rank for naturally. Do I have this right?

Start slowly increasing the bids. I also think some keywords do NOT show as ads because it's NOT in your meta data.
