I have the '22 model, This bike is great for the local trailhead riders, someone riding with the family, etc. If you go with a higher tooth rear sprocket it will definitely give more torque when you need it to get up hills and through mud. I have successfully done harescrambles with this bike, of course it's underpowered for those but you can do a lot with it. It's a really fun bike.
the klx300r fills the role of the kdx220. They also have the kx250x for more aggressive off road riding which is definitely better then the kdx. If you mean bring 2 strokes back, that'd be great but theres 0 chance. Yamaha is the last Japanese manufacturer with trail friendly 2 strokes. You can still buy mint used kdx220s if you are patient
@@pauliewalnuts240 That's funny. The KDX can and does outperform Klx in the woods. The kx250 sucks on tight, hard single track. 30 year old KDX 200's are still winning races against all the new 300's. Not 1 klx 300 has won a race yet. They are a great trail bike, but they are not a hard enduro bike.
@@4touchdowns1game29 I have 3 1988 200s and a 2006 200. I bought the white 88 and 06 new. My profile pic to the left is my white 88, it's my favorite. Ride safe my 2 wheel friend.
The 300 is about 20 pounds heavier, but also has more more power with a 292cc engine. The big difference are the upgraded suspension components on the 300. The 230 forks are 37mm and non adjustable with 9.8 inches of travel where as the 300 offers a 43mm inverted fork with 11.2 inches of travel along with adjustable compression damping.
All trail bikes should have a head light..imo

My pants never gotten caught in the front plastics 😩 I like the 22-24 plastic it looks tougher
Nice bikes, but they need to bring the KDX back. It's time for the Japanese to get back in the race. Ride safe my 2 wheel friends.

@@pauliewalnuts240 To bad the klx300r isn't available in the USA
weird that everyone says that. ive had alot of bikes and my first two stroke was a kdx 220, something about that bike just brings back good memories.

whats crazy, is 5grand used to buy a new race bike
Good review. Would be cool if they went with a 4 valve head like the honda.
Legal Boa noite Boa semana a todos 👍🖐🌎🌏🌍
I am 5’11 and weigh 175 pounds. I’ve ridden dirt bikes before. Probably 15 years ago. Would the klx300r be worth getting at $1300 more than this bike?

@ okay, yeah, the 300 will be best for me. I’ll be doing mostly trail riding.
300r ?? I think u should see yuyakira14 a Japanese enduro rider in Japan how he rides his klx 230rs
@@bonjovi1354 can you send a video so I can see, please?
I think i like it better than the crf250f.
They legal in California?
Yea
18HP nd somehow more than enough
Tenho 2 motos xr200, xr250tornado, diadia, uma pra divecao, 👍🖐
To pagando um cosocio yamaha tt230, melhorias, tauveis vou ve melhorar, mais uma 230 é top.😊😅
Proof that its 90% rider
This is a great point. AH96 can shred on anything
A simple and decently affordable machine. However, it is heavy, cheap -made, and underpowered.
What do u recommend?
A 230 has zero power. You will be rolling around, up and down hills. Good for a beginner, learning how to ride offroad.
It’s a freaking beginner bike, low to mid range power 😩 if someone wanted power they would cop a race bike 😞
That is definitely the target audience.
