- Balatro Part 8 - the full game is out, let's get that big number! This is my first ever run with all 8 antes available, so I'm shocked at how well this turned out. This game's going to be fun for a long long time.

Blank vouchers contribute twoards the Antimatter Voucher, of which you need 10 blank vouchers to unlock. The Antimatter Voucher is a permanent +1 joker slot after redemption.
That is some great synergy with the joker in his hand that multiplies the final multi based on how many empty joker slots there are

I just wrote a general observation, I have never played the game myself and I am not that good at strategy either.
Yeah, I've found out it is usually better to try for a high flush than a full house in the beginning, as flushes are way easier to get and can still get you out.
You can also win with a straight with the lowest card being 8, 9 or 10. Because of base chips, full house needs cards that total to 35 chips, flush needs 40, and straight needs 45. In this case tyler had AKJ of diamonds which was already 31/40 chips, so flush was the best play to go for to save a little extra money.

Note is that straights and flushes can also both 1-tap the first small blind since they got buffed to 4 mult combos in the 3rd demo

I watched this run on stream and I gotta say: mad props to the editors; the cuts are seamless and give a fresh feeling to content I’ve already seen; it makes me want to go back and watch the livestreams where previous videos I’ve seen are from to get that experience too.
After seeing videos of that one guy getting scores so high it used extra notations (e.g. 1.67e36), it feels nice to watch a completely normal and fair run of Balatro with no insane synergy that guarantees a win whatsoever

part of the fun is the crazy synergy... then part of the fun is editing the game file and making a run where you can get to e200+ off of a single king

25:05 I'm sure chat corrected you, but -1 ante mean you will go back to easier antes so +1 ante overall to play (-1 CURENT ante number)
I just found out that 1) on the boss that makes you always draw 3, you draw 3 even if this puts you above your hand size; and 2) you can continue runs even after you've won
Didn't watch the stream to see, but in case anyone hasn't encountered it yet, the red seal (retrigger a card) does work on steel cards in your hand as well.
I am here for this big hand. Also I do have a recommendation that probably won’t come through, but I will try. The game is called worldless and I have started playing it. It is a fun game that combines miniature puzzles with a good combat system and some parkour. This is my first day of recommending this.
The voucher for +1 hand per round is a good monetary investment while also acting as a safety net because each leftover hand when you beat a round gives you $1, and there is a cap on how much interest you can make.
Hey Tyler, could you turn on the high contrast cards in the options? Makes it way easier to see the different suits and it looks nice too. Great run!

You can get some pretty nutty strategies.
I got a nuts draw with a double Spectral pack that changed all the selected cards to the same suit, then to the same value, in the deck without face cards.
I ended up with 9 [7 of spades] cards.
Then i took all the death and devils to remove other cards and was able to consistently get [Flush 5 of a kind]s every round.
Nice my best flush fives run got up to 17 aces(15 of them spades, 1 wild card) out of 28 cards
I bought this game the frame it released. I cant wait to see you play more of it.

so this may help or not for anyone playing. I believe the order of Cards from Left to Right (it is high to low btw) seems to be set as Spades, Hearts, Clubs, Diamonds so with some level of math and guestimation if your hand is unknown but you can see one or more cards you can be fairly confident with what you may or may not have in terms of Suit and Value.

I literally just watched the five of a kind video. I began watching it 11 minutes before this was uploaded
I watched this in the stream, and also got my first win with Ancient Joker, which is very strong. I'm still hazy on the best triggering order with a whole bunch of jokers triggering on different conditions, so I hope you'll keep on explaining. I just put chips on the left +mult in the middle and x-mult on the right, but for some builds you have to do some shuffling of jokers.

My personal favorite is probably getting the pants early lol, 2 pair is really easy to do and it scales up surprisingly fast

I actually think taking the voucher for 10 is more greed than gaining the 2-3 dollars of interest you lose: you gain 1 dollar for each extra hand you DON'T use, so 1 turning the boss gives you an extra dollar. When you DON'T take the voucher, you assume that you can win the game without the hand, so we can assume that you will ALWAYS have at least one extra hand due to the voucher. That means by the time you beat the second boss, you've already made back the money you lost in interest, and by the ante 6 boss you have made money over the $10 buy in. Even after counting the cost of not getting the interest, and the initial cost of the voucher, by the end of the game the voucher pays for itself plus some, assuming you get to that point. Long term gain in exchange for short term sacrifice: greeeeeed

You could say, tyler has an *ace* up his sleeve
straight with 8 or higher as the lowest card works on the first round, as does a flush with I believe 35 chips from the cards, and a full house I believe needs 30 chips from the cards. I might be wrong on some of those numbers. I did check the straight though.
I love balatro mi best build yet was (jokers) hack, and the fibonacci courve quick ramp up

what i think be a interesting new/modded joker is for every x over the required chip for the blind you get a gold (probably up to a limit or maybe not its single player)

Something I noted from this video, debuffed cards just give no multiplier or chips, they can still be played for their number or suit.

I'm sure Tyler realizes this, but for others trying to understand the strategy here, the largest numbers are always going to be square so you want a balance of cards adding to blue and red rather than focusing on one, unless you get some stupid synergy that makes one of them gigantic on its own

It is sad you didn't tryed endless mode from this point. I think you can unlock cards that way and it doesn't take long anyway since you go to huuuge score needed and get rekt :D (sory for bad english)
+1 hand is always worth it in the first shop, if it doesn't save your run it pays for itself in just over 3 antes
The same $10 if not spent on +1 hand but instead saved would earn back double that amount of money over the same time from interest. +1 hand is only worth it if you’re at the interest cap and/or you plan to make use of that extra hand.
