Growing up, only electric menorahs were in the window, not traditional menorahs which were considered a fire hazard. The electrical menorahs were on view 24/7, and it's still done this way in many Jewish communities in the USA. Your family videos are wonderful and are sorely needed during this difficult time.
I put them on the dinning table with the shabbat candles
We do electric menorah for the window and the candles on the table or counter depending on how much/what is going on
I put them in my front windows..One with real candles, the other with bulbs..😊 They face the street, so cool..Zach's hair is sooo sweet! Happy 4th night..Sunday morning here...❤👍
Hanukkah candles are lit first - I put my Hanukkiah on my dining room table, there is a big window facing the street in my dining room.

i wish our target had anything hanukah at all...nevermind in the dollar spot. We live in an area where we are the Jews...so...unless im going visiting elsewhere i must get everything online and not everything you find in target is actually on their website , sadly....alas....it is gorgeous where we live...and we make Hanukah ...since we ve only lived here 3 years i made sure to bring alll our decorations and menorahs etc....Happy Hanukah!
5:19 We have a small house and 3-cats (Ruth, Wheat & Zion) and 2-large dogs (Olive& Barley), so for fire safety we kindle on our dinner table that very high up also is like an island in our kitchen and is visible from the front window facing street for passer bys. My neighbors tend to drive by very slow especially in front of my house (dk why) Anyway. We also placed battery operated🕯sticks, all nine beautifully illumating through our small kitchen window faceing northern back yard, visible to passer bys on the back street and neighbors too 😉 We shine brightly and proudly. And if that's not enough tomorrow weather will improve here in Texas and we can light our Hanukkah light using tiki torches in our front yard for the remainder 5 days (weather permitting.) We alao have Happy Hanukkah banners on our front proch, blue & white lights wrapped around the roof. Ive also purchased two blue outdoor porch lights for our front & back porch (automatically come on @ sundown) and blue garden spot lights lighting up our cedar trees. We are the only house in our neighborhood beaming blue 💙 and proud! HAPPY Hanukkah 🕎 CHAG SAMEACH everyone!

Our Menorah is in our kitchen window. It's the safest window in the house because my husband built and installed an oak shelf above our sink.

Put a high table by any window also it is after lighting shabbat candles that you can work so that's why Chanukah candles are first you said it backwards

What does it mean to be Shabbat Boy? I can't find any explanations in my browser search. Can you please explain the significance? Also, you mention your buy being bearded next year. Can you explain that too? I'm not Jewish, so while this may be common knowledge to most of your subscribers, it's not for me. Sorry to be a nuisance

I'm guessing that the Shabbat boy/girl would bring out the class Shabbat candles, kiddish cup and challah. Then lead the class in the blessings over the candles, wine (grape juice) and challah.
my grandchildren used to be on a roster at school. every week one child gets the change to take the lead. its to practice for when they turn 13. it's a great honor and a blessing, the parents make a big deal about it.
