    Even though this channel has not so many subscribers, which I don't understand the reason why I truly enjoy watching all the content, John you seem to be a really nice and honest person. I hope you can continue making more educational videos regardless of the channel size. Wishing you all the best, keep up the good work. Cheers!!!

    The best 3970 lineup review on RUclips.
    Nice to see quality watch colecting content around.
    Thx John.

    Another great insightful video. It would be fun to know what the list prices for these watches at time of introduction. Sometimes that information can be hard to find even on the www. Given your time the auction world it would also be fun to know what prices the watches have gone for at auction and their trajectory over time.
    I enjoy watching your videos very much. Keep them coming. One of my favorite references is the 5070. Also I know it is a modern piece but I have not seen much about the discontinuation of the 5170 and the 5172.

      Thanks Pedram. Great point on historical prices. I will dig around a bit and post the original retails on date of production once I find them. I'm also a big fan of 5070s and just bought two for inventory so please stay tuned for content.

    congratulations for this nice description, I believe that the 3970 first series can only be 70 pieces, because the serial numbers after 875070 are all 3971, I have not found any other 3970 after this serial number. Can anyone give any more info?

    Best value Patek out there, is a late, gold 3970. Cracking watch and great video!

    Im thinking of the 3970EP, and I could really use your help and knowledge in this. Regardless of which series, if we take into consideration all series, which dial color would be the rarer version? The black or white dial? And would you happen to have the estimated production quantities of the 3970EP? I would really appreciate your help! 🙏🏽

    John Love you insight and work thus far. Please if you wouldn’t mind as you book is out of print are there any other books that you may recommend for buddying Patek collector?

    Great description of the subtle differences among the four series. Many thanks
    What woukd you recommend to buy between (i) a first series reference 3971 with box but without papers (just an Extract from the Archives); and (ii) a second series also reference 3971 in yellow gold but full set (box and Certificate of Origins)?
    Many thanks in advance for your expert views!

      Wow, what a great choice to need to make. Assuming the condition is equal and the dials are 100%, I would personally go with the 3971.

      @@johnreardon3158 Many thanks John for your reply
      Is my understanding correct that you would go for the first series 3971 (with box but just the extract) instead of the same reference 3971 but second series (full set)?

    • @johnreardon3158
      @johnreardon3158 Год назад

      @@christopheperrin2218 Ultimately, I would buy the better condition watch but a first series 3971 with archive would be more enticing to me than a second series full set condition being equal.
