PSA - Chris did not, in fact, quit. Luckily he actually really enjoys fabricating & problem solving just as much as Kevin enjoys coming up with wild & crazy ideas. They’re a match made in heaven. ❤ And for anyone who hasn’t been paying attention, and wanted to ask about Bec - she’s gone. There was no future for Bec on the channel. She was an apprentice, has taken what she’s learned and now has a good paying job where she might have a potential future. We’re no longer taking in any outside builds. We will be focusing on our own personal builds which was always the original plan. Unfortunately while taking in customer builds ALL of our vehicles got neglected and that ultimately wasn’t acceptable. We need our vehicles functioning to successfully run our business & livelihood, and can’t afford for them to take the lowest priority. So we went back to the original plan of just having Chris as our friend and personal fabricator. Bec was never in the original plans, and although we tried to adapt to make it work with 2 people, it didn’t end up working out. So now we’re back to the original plan, which is more beneficial all around (for the business, for Chris, and for Bec). We opened our home to her for a free place to live for 2 years, gave her one of our cars to drive during the year her Jeep was on our lift, she traveled with us on all-expense-paid trips around the country, got to learn from Chris’s life-long experience in our shop while getting paid a salary (and she & Chris kept 100% of profits from outside builds), and we gave her 4+ months notice of this change. As that time has now come and gone, she’s taken the priceless knowledge she learned from Chris & put it towards her future. 🤙
This looks like a bad end to a potential new channel. Bec and Chris had the build side which a lot of ppl started showing more interest in. To bad would’ve love to see the LJ build.
Honestly, everything was amicable (or so we thought) until we recently received messages regarding what was being said about us privately to others. But the facts above remain. Whatever Bec says, we do hope she’s successful in whatever career she chooses & is able to apply the knowledge Chris taught her. But we also know we went above and beyond on our end, despite whatever is being told to people privately. ❤️ This will be the last video we address this issue on, however, as we prefer not to invite negativity into our lives or onto our channel.
Whew! I'm glad he didn't quit. I've turned many a wrench into and throughout the night with Chris. He has ALWAYS been and always will be the guy that can figure it out. It's been great to catch up with him and watch him make Kevin's dreams into reality. Keep it up, I'll keep watching.
It’s obviously a ton of work for Chris, but going over the top all the way beyond what anybody else has done is absolutely the answer. The step child is going to be even more badass then it’s ever been before!!!
Way to “Hang in there Chris!” I learn so much from your work. I watch your videos at least twice to catch the little things that were done. Each time my quality of work goes up. Thanks!
Well Brittany and Chris you both enjoy Kevin's endless plans for the Step Child, Chris you have the patience of a saint, but god help you when the Unimog hits the shop 🤦♀🤣😂🤣😂
Chris is a good sport for this “quick” change. Time and effort goes into designing and chris takes a lot of ownership in his work and to swallow his plan and forge a new plan on a whim, takes a lot of patience and dedication.
I hope Kevin and Brittany have considered where they would be without Chris and pay him well. It should be at least 33% of what revenue Lite Brite generates.
We’d just be where we were before we offered Chris a job & invited him to live with us - using our favorite shops around the country. 🙂 Chris, however, is amazing & priceless. But don’t worry, he’s taken very well care of (and he and Kev are like brothers). 🤙
The Step Child is turning into a ship of Theseus situation. Eventually you'll have enough parts out there that came off the original Step Child that, if someone wanted to, they could rebuild the original. 😂 Happy to see the build coming along. Hoping one day my own JL can at least play on the same trails, even if it can't take take the same obstacles and lines.
Chris you are a magician. That last picture of the flex on the Step Child is next level. Thank you for giving us such amazing content and for being you. I appreciate you sir.

Chris. You’re absolutely amazing in your skills and design capabilities!💪👍. Lifelong fabrication and fair machinist here, but your experience is amazing. Love what you do, and always saving your ideas 💡
At millions of dollars it’s still not enough!!!!! Chris is simply a wizard. I usually watch videos for straight entertainment, I watch his build videos to be put in awe of his ingenuity. Truly a legend. Thank you Chris for sharing your gift with us.
As far as I know, Chris is the only person on the planet that can make Kevin's dreams for the build come true AND tolerate his BS!!!!! Way to go Chris!!!! You are an amazing problem solver that is very capable of being a thinker and a doer!!
Ehhhh. Chris has good mojo. If he’s not a genuine good man then he deserves the next 15 best actor offers. Learned a lot (that I’ll never actually use) watching him
Also, got to give credit where credit is due. Chris is amazing, but it really is the team that makes this channel. The edits, content, and story lines. I realize a lot of this is fly by the seat of your pants but you alls constant push for making vehicles that do things they weren’t intended to do is what makes watching fun.
Chris you have the patience of a saint! With all this mock-up and tear down that Kevin want I can see why you walked away for a few. You are the Jeep Gandhi. 🤣😂
You the Man Chris!!! Making it great!!! Just remember the Stepchild wouldn’t be The Stepchild Without Chris!!! And I’ve gotta admit you guys know how to sell a video with just the thumbnail!!!!! 🤔 Use Your Most Beautiful Asset And It Just Pulls Ya Right In!! No Offense Kevin! But Brittany Is REALLY HOT IN THOSE PICTURES!!! But of course you already know that! 👌😉

So cool to meet you all in person T Jeepers Jamboree. Now, to fix my busted Window😅. (told the wife a 🐻 tried to get in. way cooler story than the aux fuel can hitting a rock and pushing in the window😅😅😅) At this point, Chris should just make the Step Child a tube frame chassis with jeep body😁

Awesome as always guys. Couple questions. Why not go full hydro steering? Also I know bilstein is a sponsor but for your rear suspension ORI definitely seems like the solution. Why not those?
Hydro would unfortunately mean losing steering wheel functions & Tazer, plus not great for a daily driver. And wait til you see what we have planned for suspension. 😁

It's a good thing Chris doesn't get attached to his work, being able to pivot that quickly and give up on all that hard work just to start all over again is a quality all onto itself. With that said, the Step Child is already looking more bad ass - that 80 on the back is insane and makes everything else look like a chicken bone ready to break . Ahahahaha
Hey Chris! Way to adapt dude! With the kind of ride hight this is gong to have, make sure you move the seats back slightly to accommodate the parachutes they'll be using when they get out of the StepChild.
10:00 - Arrh, yeah, Kevin, that not been correct since, well, basically since crash standards became a thing. The frames are assembled on a jig in the factory, by robot welding machines, the tollerences are finer then the human eye can percieve, and certainly more then anything assembled on a jig by humans can be. They are in fact measured by lasers in that process, every frame is in fact more identical then we humans could tell. I'd go so far to say that the frame as it rolled out of the factory would have been a perfect easy fit for the gear you've all welded in here. Until you bounce it off boulders on a trail :)
Have you ever tried liquid springs? Or do you know much about them. I'm based in Australia so I don't think we have suppliers or even much info about the product. Do they make something applicable for the stepchild application?
