I've gone back and forth on buying this guy. Everytime I think I've made peace with not having him, I see another review that tempts me all over again. Thanks for the great review, Terry, sooo very tempting!
How rampant is that mouth issue? I’ve always been super careful about my stuff but o don’t want to have something that’s going to break whether or not I abuse it. Some people have experienced the ripped mouth even after only a couple hours or so. They should’ve foreseen this stress issue and molded out with a closed mouth so there’s extra material instead of less to stress when the mouth is closed
I love the teeth! He does tilt his head sometimes. Spoiler: When he reunites with Mando and Mando says “That’s the shirt. You got the shirt,” Grogu tilts his head. He has done it more times.
I got mine today. Already had V1, but just couldn't resist! Birthday present for myself ;) Already being used to the beauty of V1 I was not expecting to be blown away by this new version, but I was certainly mistaken! The rigid and static stoik V1 pales next to this flexible happy Grogu! It is just so lifelike, like nothing I've ever seen before! Absolutely love him! It's an expensive collection to keep collecting, but, if a new version were to come out later (say, with further improvements and wearing chainmail) I will definitely keep collecting ;)
@@MrBaracu I found version one via videos of people unpacking and modding it. Like Adam Savage. His video is first on recommended on the sidebar for me. In case you have others, video is called Adam Savage Reviews Sideshow's Life-size Baby Yoda. This is the previous version =) (that I call V1 )
@@Abstormal Oh ok but its sideshow and not hot toys. But i saw the older hot toys version with different paint and eyes. The eyes look more like the show in my opinion.
@@MrBaracu I bought them both in the same place, and enough of the material that was shown on the selling page (style of photos and so on) as well as packing and production, material, quality, build and details make it look more like one and the same item with an improved version.
I just bought him and got him together. That said when he is standing on the base he doesn't fit in my Ikea detolf cabinet, so I am wanting to have him sit down. But does ANYONE have an explanation of how I make him sit down? I don't want to reef on him and break something.
What’s the difference between this $410 life-size Grogu, and the first $375 life-size one? I’m not sure which one to get. The only difference I’ve noticed is the box, the first didn’t have the pram-style that opens from the top. Help me please!!!
The SS is a statue made from the digital files used to create the on set puppet. It has no movement. The HT has some articulation and can be considered a figure I guess. It's really up to you which design you prefer. As Terry demonstrated in the video, you can get multiple looks from the HT while the SS is static. With that said many prefer the look of the SS statue over the HT feeling it to be more accurate because it came from the same guys who did the actual prop. They are both the same scale.
Sideshow one is a statue, Hot Toys a figure with articulation. Various differences in design and quality - you need to watch videos to research and compare. Sideshow Grogu statue is decent. Hot Toys one arguably better but swap out ears seam is unsightly.
SS version also has a head that can rotate no other articulation BUT MADE WITH Pvc and acrylic eyes instead of resin The body is weighted with a piece that might b resin or solid plastic but it’s a beautiful and more accurate look to the puppet
@@MonstersOfTheUniverse Thanks - do you have both side by side to compare? I currently have only the SS. Normally Hot Toys always produce more accurate and better looking figures. I did plan on getting the HT Grogu.
I have the original Life size Grogu so how about maybe something new instead of rehashing the Marvel stuff or same figures over and over again like. How about a Froglady statue from the Mandalorian with her hubby egg container and little blaster.
I'm assuming the "Original life size Grogu" you're referring to is the the statue Sideshow made. This one is made by Hottoys and its an actual figure. Hottoys and Sideshow are different companies.
having both i have to disagree with some aspects in ski nthat look better in person on the hot toys version. The articulation a plus, the body an big improvements as well as feet. Hot toys I can have him sitting in a chair while you cant on SS. HT revision 3 is even better color balanced.

just buy it!
Maybe the force is telling you to pull the trigger!
easier to get now so if you haven't make sure you get it through side show for this version as they are the official backed distributor in the US.
Great video, Terry! You’ve given me some great posing ideas for my life size Grogu! Thanks!
Hey Terry, I bought Grogu on the strength of this video. He arrived today and he is absolutely amazing, what a wonderful little guy he is.
Noticing slight difference from the first run, the poncho is weathered more which is a nice addition.
They are on revision 3 now. Slight adjustments to gown, material on head, and tone adjustments
@@aralifefarming Where did you find out about v3?

The mouth mechanics allows for different expressions. I only have him displayed with one expression so not to wear out the skin. I ❤ my Grogu.

The second ear looks to be a different color than the head.
Stop violating grogu 😂
So this is a 1:1 scale version? Is there a 1:1 scale version of Mando from Hot Toys?
oh lordt imagine the price on that one and finding room. Make a good modified security guard tho.

Are Sideshow and Hot Toys sister companies or something? I actually thought they were the same company
