Indian diplomacy has failed in Bangladesh. Don’t bring former diplomats if you want to build a relationship with Bangladesh that works.
Particularly Mr. Chakrabarty is one of the culprits with bad suggestions and ideas. He has no clue on how economy works. Blaming Ukraine and Covid cannot hide the extreme and systematic money laundering from banks by Hasina. Hasina’s relationship with India was based on reciprocal interest of both parties by exploiting regular people of Bangladesh.

    • @sena3941
      @sena3941 2 месяца назад +5

He literally mentioned the impact of bad loans and money being siphoned off. He also mentioned institutional capture. Thanks to Mr Chakravarty here, Bangladeshis enjoy easy access to India. He faced a lot of political resistance but he did it. Thanks to him, the enclave issue was settled. Teen bigha corridor would not have been possible without him. But sure let your shallow knowledge and hubris be the judge of this person. He is a well respected diplomat.

@@sena3941 ‘Deep’ knowledge in economy does not look at GDP in isolation, a sound economist also talks about wealth distribution.
If your favourite diplomat’s intentions were right, he would touch upon Hasina’s killings and torture cells and would give the real picture of Bangladesh.

@@koowasha I have a bad news for you. Crony capitalism was an issue since Zia's rule. He even deemed it as a necessary evil to break out of poverty. At least that is how Anthony Mascarenhas put it in his book on Bangladesh.
I do not look at just GDP. But the textile industry was possible because both the BNP and AL mollycoddled with these industrialists and protected them. Your textile industry runs semi slavery system and you think this was only blessed by AL in power. This was the economic momentum that every Bangladeshi before Covid used to pride about. But that is gone.
Another issue is the slowdown of labour demands in Gulf. Gulf is moving from labour intensive sectors to service sector increasingly and this means a secular decline in labour requirements. Remittance stagnation of Bangladesh since the Covid period points to that. Not to mention the war leading to increase in fuel and food prices did not help the situation.
Wealth distribution in Bangladesh would never get solved if land distribution is not done. Land capture is a huge problem and both parties have done it. Preciously the kind of shit that got solved in West Bengal by the Left. Not only we removed the Zamindars in the 50s (one of the first amendments of the Nehru government) but Operation Borga (yes the Bengali word Borga or share is the source of this name) reduced huge rural inequality that used to exist. Political parties can still capture land but small peasants are more likely to be able to defend their ownership better. We saw in Singur and Nandigram. The very opposite of what one gets to see in Bangladesh.
As for excesses of Hasina, for every Aynaghor you have a hawa Bhabhan. Your problem. Instead of blaming your neighbour, your country's inability to build proper institutions get demonstrated. Why should Indian mission intervene? We barely try to do so to dismantle terrorist camps against India within Pakistani territory let alone defend someone's interest. That is a ludicrous expectation.

A country whose entire concept of sovereignty is assassinating its own leaders on the basis of their perceived pro India bias (Tajuddin and Zia got assassinated for this. And Zia was not even pro India) should have far better priorities than complaining about foreign ambassadors under the guise of their perceived attack against the country's sovereignty. Did you even listen to what he has to say? He has a well rounded analysis and of course as a former Indian ambassador he is supposed to analyse it from the Indian perspective. He has represented Indian interests which is our primary goal not charity.
Before you spew more nonsense Mr Shuvo, this is the same man who improved the lives of enclave residents by helping them to belong to a country. Without him, there would not have been an agreement. Without him, the number of people coming for their basic consult would not have been able to do so. Make him the villain at your own cost but ignoring his merits would not make them disappear.

On several occasions during his time in Bangladesh, he made comments on the political situation of the host country, which is inappropriate for someone in his position. Even today, he continues to speak as though he is a spokesperson for Awami League. His remarks during a press conference, in the presence of then-Minister Ms. Dipu Moni and journalists, regarding other political parties and what should be done about them, were completely unacceptable. Unfortunately if West Bengal is lost you will not be able to protect your Seven Sisters. This is the reality. What kind of clownish observation is this? There are several thousand problems with Mamata but civil war? That is such a weird observation. Unlike your country, we have elections at every level. West Bengal has a historic level of political violence and cronyism entrenched within its system. Particularly since the Land Reforms carried out by the Left. Mamata Banerjee and TMC rode on people's frustration with that but it later turned out that they are far worse than the Left with respect to the above aspect. I do not like Mamata but even I have that much faith in the system that she would bow down if she is defeated electorally.
West Bengal has a history of bandhs and protests. What one sees is not an exception rather it used to be the norm. West Bengal has survived a Naxal insurgency, Maoist insurgency and millions of refugees from your country. If it can do that, it can also witness political changes peacefully unlike your country.
People from West Bengal would rather eat shit than collaborate with Bangladeshis. Never seen unreal level of hatred even among Murshidabadis and Malda people. They face a lot of nonsense thanks to the water diversion from Bhagirathi and Ganga and illegal migration. Bangladesh would play no role. We ejected out your political elite in 1947 itself after one of them tried to burn down Kolkata with his goons. Bengalis fought for Indian independence and Bengalis would die on that hill. Our hero is Kakababu (Muzzafar Ahmed), Subhas Bose, Alimuddin Ahmed and many others who fought against the imperialists. Unlike your Nizamuddin and Suhrawardy who collaborated with the British and spread communal nonsense. Bidrohi kobi's writing was the basis of Indian nationalistic revolutionary movement which inspired many young Bengalis.
And even if a state goes to disorder, governor takes over and central rule is imposed. This ends up stabilizing the state. Good luck trying to challenge the Eastern Command and CRPF. These are not your UN shrills but battle hardened toughened soldiers who would not tolerate any nonsensical violation of territorial sovereignty. Your juvenile comments reveal nothing but your self defeating ignorance of the country.

Don't worry...Bangladeshis seem to prefer a manic-depressive political culture moving between independence and subjugation every 50 years.. 5th August 2024, the day Hasina fled, is their 3rd Independence Day in 75 years, I believe. No doubt they will feel the need for many more Independence Days in future and the relationship with India would change in the interim period...Nothing to get worried about. India should just ensure that Bangladesh does not do something stupid while its population is peak manic or bottom line depressive which might do real harm to India's interest, that is all.

I am a Bangladeshi citizen I voted for Bangladesh Awami League for the first time in my life i.e. boat brand 2008 Sheikh Hasina had no choice at that moment but to run away because she was in power for the past 16 years when she was in power she abused her power, administration partisanship. did, killed the people of their own country, looted banks, smuggled 18 lakh crores of rupees, massacred Islam in the custody of Islam, committed corruption in the name of big projects, there is rise in commodity prices, looted banks, killed 57 army officers of BDR rebellion, last 700 people disappeared and murdered in 16 years, thousands of crores of rupees were looted from the stock market, they made mirror houses and detained dissidents for years without trial. There was no more opportunity to meet. In these 16 years, the people of this country have been deprived of their right to vote. In these 16 years, the vote was held three times. Also there was no freedom of expression of people, for example if you post on Facebook against the government, in that case the government has made digital security laws so that no one can write against the government even on Facebook, any television journalist has made arrangements so that no one can write against the government in the media, its corruption and The level of crime is like a mountain. In a word, the lives of the people of Bangladesh have become unbearable. In the last student movement, there was a massacre. More than a thousand students were massacred. Currently, more than a hundred murder cases have been registered and the leaders and activists are running away. The lives of the leaders and activists are under threat. There is doubt whether the power will come. Sheikh Hasina is responsible for everything

I beg to differ with your introductory analysis deliberately making conspicuous the "minority Hindus" as distinct from the Muslims and Buddhists, Christians and Tribals who together constitute the BANGLADESHI NATION. Your "Divide and Rule" policy of India has adversely affected the body politics of Bangladesh and created exogenous artificial fault lines to install Sheikh Hasina and the Awami League to serve Indian interests alone by playing the ethnic card in steamrolling the majority of Bangladeshis and shore up the so-called "War on Terror" of the US Republican Party and George W Bush for Sheikh Hasina and the Awami League singing in tune "Muslim Fundamentalism" and removing Muslim leaders of Bangladesh by extra-judicial killings under the disguise and garb of a cooked up "War Crimes Tribunal". This stage-managed drama engineered and orchestrated by India and RAW has come full circle in falling apart by a popular revolution of Students and the masses.
Mr. Pinaki Ranjan Chakravorty sings the Indian tune that is a far cry from what our Mr. Pinaki Bhattacharya has been unraveling in his podcast. Pinaki Bhattacharya is a true blue BANGLADESHI and upholds our independence, freedom and Sovereignty that Sheikh Hasina and the AWAMI-BAKSAL-INDIAN LEAGUE has sold out under the boots of the Indian hegemony in subservient servitude like puppets on a chain. Bangladesh Zindabad.
