Thanks for watching! Have you tried Home Chef? Let me know! Update: I did a second week. Ultimately, not a fan. The menu is too inconsistent, they again swapped out ingredients last minute, and again delivered through Axlehire, which is like Uber for packages instead of people. If that sounds like a shipping nightmare waiting to happen, you ain't wrong! But I'll let you google Axlehire horror stories yourselves. 😐
I’ve been exploring “oven ready” meal plan options and turned to RUclips to check reviews. I will say, I love your review format because it focuses on all the points that matter to me. And I also like that you state your opinion - some reviews, once done, leave me with no real idea what the reviewer actually thought. Thank you for the great content!
Thank you! I also feel like reviews sometimes miss the things I actually want to know, and I wanted my format to address that. I'm really glad it's useful to you! Thanks for commenting!
I can tell you, the best advantage of meal kits is portion control, and they give you variety to healthy foods. Diets fail, but eating healthy meal kits can keep you on track.
So true! It definitely makes you more mindful about when you eat and how much, and a healthy attitude towards food is half the battle. Thanks for commenting!
The risotto recipes, especially the shrimp ones, are awesome. The Mexican dishes are my favorites. I make most of them into quesadillas, even if they’re supposed to be tostadas or tacos. I keep extra cheese and sour cream on hand, because there’s no such thing as too much cheese!
I really enjoy your meal videos! I like how you describe and go into detail about what the meals taste like (the good and not so good). I might be interested in an affiliate collaboration of sorts. Is there a best way to send more info about that to you? Thanks! :)
Hello! To avoid conflicts of interest, I really want to keep this channel free of any affiliate situations, collabs, or sponsorships, but I really appreciate you watching and reaching out!
Excellent video. I recently signed up for Home Chef. So far I have prepared 2 dinners for 4. I thought the meals were very good. My grandchildren, who live with me, also liked both meals. So far so good.
Thanks for watching and leaving a comment! I'm glad you enjoyed the two meals you've made so far. Double glad that the kids liked them too! I hope the others are just as good. Which ones did you try?
I’m diabetic and watching carbs. I don’t have sodium restrictions. And I live alone. I order 3 meals/ 2 servings each. So, I make a new recipe every other day and eat leftovers the day after. Been on the plan over 6 months. I’ve also tried Hello fresh, Everyplate, and Dinnerly. Home Chef seems to have a better choice of veggies that I can tolerate. I don’t like cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, or asparagus. And I’m tired of carrots. Hello fresh seems to put carrots in every other dish. And one other thing. With 6 months of use, I’ve lost 7 pounds. So that’s good
My problem is they want credit card info before you can choose your meals. After digging around I was able to find a menu. Just about everything looked great But loaded with sodium 😢. I checked out 5 dishes. The sodium content ranged between 1400-1850 grams. That is Waaayy too much
I hear you! I'm sodium sensitive and will get a headache if I eat something anywhere near that high, but I didn't have any issues. So I don't know how accurate their nutritional info is, but I wouldn't be surprised if sodium is high for a lot of choices. The meals are the closest I've had to something you'd grab for lunch at a restaurant or street vendor, and over 1k is pretty standard for that 😂 Thanks so much for watching and leaving a comment!
I agree that is what I dislike as well. I joined Hello Fresh before I was put on a low sodium diet and I am hardly able to order anything because of the sodium content.
Hi! Thanks for stopping by and watching! If you do try it, please let me know how it works for you! The experience with any of these services can certainly be different depending on how many people you'll be feeding.
Hello Fresh can not send a cold box of food if their business depended on it. Meals are good, IF they come cold. Have been fighting them way too long...time to cut ties.
That sucks! It's always nice to hear the experiences people have with these services. Especially since our country is so big, different regions have different things to consider. I definitely wouldn't want warm groceries showing up at all but especially if I'm in a warmer area to begin with. Hopefully another service will work better for you!
I received my Marley Spoon Martha Stewart box the other day and it looked like they had slam-dunked all the products in, fresh food like bell peppers and garlic smashed by the canned tomatoes which was also dented. The bag of baby spinach was OPEN and greens spilling out. The meat offerings are those things we buy every day anyway and the ordering process? Granted I did it at night, but once looked at in the light of day I regretted it. I tried to change my order and wasn't able because in order to not be automatically charged again, I unsubscribed. Which may explain why I was unable to change my order to NOT HAMBURGER and chicken to something more interesting. Plus, someone on a low carb diet, there is a lot of potato in the box. Don't get me started on the box waste, it was at least sturdy, but environmentally this is a hot mess. Not to mention the recipes on heavy card stock when they could be accessed online. It's a no from me, but can I review this anywhere legit? No. The MS media machine won't allow that.
That really sucks about Marley Spoon. I had it on my list of things to look into though not necessarily to review. I do remember seeing a ton of negative posts about it on reddit, so I'm not surprised to hear about your experience!

I second the love for cheese!

Congratulations on the weight loss! I'm glad to hear that the plan has been working out for you with delicious options that keep you interested!
I love the energy lol

Isn’t searing more of an option? Maybe that’s why they called it oven ready.
I wanna try them for family for 3

It’s cheap with the cost of food these days. You can spend $60 or more for one meal.
For sure! It's definitely a balance depending on what you eat trying to find the most affordable avenue at this point.
The only way I like ground turkey is mixed into a recipe, such as chili or spaghetti. Don't like it by itself such as meatballs or meatloafs
Makes sense! A lot of things are redeemable when they're not the star of the show.
Roof of the mouth burner.
😂 I should've made another category! Thanks for watching!
