I’ve never seen a show with so much decent merchandise as this. Prices seemed really good too, particularly on the older built cars. Be interesting to try to build a model just from parts found at the show.

Wow! Amazing kits, when you were looking at those 68 barracudas there was a Revell Revolution funny car (the original), I haven't seen one in 50 years! And then my top bucket lister the Charlie Allen Dart funny car factory sealed $300! Great info on the Harry Gant cars being made by Salvino. I've been trying to find Harry's 90/91 Olds, can't hardly find any of his cars, a friend of mine wants them. Thanks for sharing Tim, great job!

Nice coverage of the swap meet. I came across the AMT 67 t-bird in a lot of other parts kits. It's missing the interior and one wheel cover. Rare kit that was released only one time

Very nice footage of the vendors Tim, your more patient than me when panning. Since I didn't have an early bird admission some of these kits were not there when I arrived.
At round 22:50, the focus softens, reducing the capacity to read the box labelling. More generally, the nearly constant movement of the camera (smartphone?) causes motion blur that makes it difficult to read the kits' names.
That International 4270 was the first big rig kit I ever built, when I was 13 or so. Painted the cab and hood Testors Sapphire Blue metallic. Left engine and chassis molded in color, and painted interior baby blue. Would love to get another, but, the prices !!!! Arrrrgghhh !

Been trying to find old kits…Dragon-fire and Evil Iron… they are Motor cycle trikes… just curious if you’ve ever seen them on your journeys… I think the last releases may have been late 80s

I dream about finding them…. I know they will be expensive …. But they go together great as a pair… I built both twice and no longer have them…. Someday I will come across them I hope… need to find a good online source
Always been a Richard Petty fan, but also Harry Gant, Terry Labonte and Ken Schrader. All these guys would race hard but clean, not like the “racing today”. Later on became a huge Jeff Gordon fan. Trying to build all these drivers cars from 1981 until 2003… have most of the models and decals… couple more hobby shows and I should be ready to go… biggest problem will be matching paint colors
Love the Midgets, Sprint Cars and going to small local tracks on a Saturday night! I've been watching a lot of the vintage racing too, I'll put on one of those older races when I sit down at the model bench. A great way to spend a few relaxing hours!!!!!

@@THROTTLEPOWER Actually, it's not the contests that I look for but the swap meets. A place where a person can get models and supplies cheaper than the hobby store prices. I used to have a very large box of extra parts (tires,wheels,engines,etc.) but then a "now ex-girlfriend" happened, and all my extra parts as well as my time invested models got crunched. She went to jail but that doesn't replace my models. I'm just now starting from scratch again.
@@Rick-if5zb I understand Rick, but to find the stuff you want you will have to search out some Model Contests. All your Model Contests have a Vendor area.
@@Rick-if5zb There is one show that is a Slot Car and Model Swap meet (no Model Contest) and it's in Louisville, KY. every year in the Fall. I just went to that and filmed it. It's on my channel and it's a pretty popular show.

I probably would have went had I known. Is this Hobby Show something they do yearly or is it more often? That's the kind of info I need.

That's a good question Chuck. I went back and looked at the vid and noticed he had resin bodies from several people/companies so I couldn't tell. I've seen that body at a few shows in the past so I will keep an eye out for it. When I come across it again I will point it out in the vid and get the name for you. Love the Midgets, Sprint Cars and going to small local tracks on a Saturday night! I've been watching a lot of the vintage racing too, I'll put on one of those older races when I sit down at the model bench. A great way to spend a few relaxing hours!!!!!

@@THROTTLEPOWER Actually, it's not the contests that I look for but the swap meets. A place where a person can get models and supplies cheaper than the hobby store prices. I used to have a very large box of extra parts (tires,wheels,engines,etc.) but then a "now ex-girlfriend" happened, and all my extra parts as well as my time invested models got crunched. She went to jail but that doesn't replace my models. I'm just now starting from scratch again.
@@Rick-if5zb I understand Rick, but to find the stuff you want you will have to search out some Model Contests. All your Model Contests have a Vendor area.
@@Rick-if5zb There is one show that is a Slot Car and Model Swap meet (no Model Contest) and it's in Louisville, KY. every year in the Fall. I just went to that and filmed it. It's on my channel and it's a pretty popular show.
@@THROTTLEPOWER My reason for asking is because he said it was in Atlanta, Georgia and that is very close to where I live. I just didn't know where in Atlanta or when this was going on. I probably would have went had I known. Is this Hobby Show something they do yearly or is it more often? That's the kind of info I need.

At round 22:50, the screen image loses resolution, making difficult to read the kit labels.
More broadly, the random panning of the camera (smartphone?) blurs the image, as well, again inhibiting legibility. (I already had sent this, though I cannot find it.)

That's a good question Chuck. I went back and looked at the vid and noticed he had resin bodies from several people/companies so I couldn't tell. I've seen that body at a few shows in the past so I will keep an eye out for it. When I come across it again I will point it out in the vid and get the name for you.
