Man, I am impressed with the work you can do with the tools you've made :3 Really leaves me with no excuse to start doing cool stuff too - if I don't have the tools, I should just make them. =) Great work!
you are by far the most talented man doing this PCB, I'm amazed with the final result, and your tools are from another world, I never would imagine to use a old PC fan to do a vibrator. 👏👏👏👏
Everyone agrees that your work is incredible! I'm at a similar place with my diy work in terms of tool availability, inspired by your ingenuity in making your own tools.
Awesome, interesting technique! That drill press is just amazing. It is so sad to see people who cry that they need to buy all these tools to be productive, when I should have been thinking of ingenious was to improvise my whole life. #ono
Yeah. Do you know what it costs to buy a little drill press for this purpose? It's unjustified. So I got a ~$20 drill press stand (for hand drills) and a ~$10 hobby motor that came with a chuck and bits, and I was rolling with a $30 PCB drill press, give or take a bit. The things that I already had though were pieces of rubber to make a spacer because the clamp on the drill press stand was too big, and a 12V DC power supply to power it.
In China, we always prototype the two layers PCB with less than 1$ to manufacturer, after 24 hours PCB will be ready for delivery from manufacturer, about total 36 hours later we can get the PCBs in hand.
You could make pcbs for free but one thing that maintain people to still making pcbs at home is the shipping time and cost of the shipping is not the pcb price is the shipping. If you live out of china there is always a significant amount of time to wait until the pcb arrives , those times can be at least 1 month for america or one week but with a shipping cost of 30-50usd. If you can send me pcb's with one week $10usd shipping I'm yours.
Love the ghetto setup :D Thank you so much for this. I hate it when someone states "at home" and uses machines that cost tens of thousands of dollars. As if we all have that much money to spend. -_-
Very nice work... excellent result. You might consider spraying the component side with a coat of white paint just before you transfer the component layout (step 8). This would allow the print to show up more clearly. But the result is excellent regardless. >Charlie
I don't say this very often but the use of all of your tools borders on the creepy and I can't put my finger on why.. altogether, this was a very informative and intersting watch.
Until today, I thought that the circuits were filaments carefully printed into the plaque, now I know they print everything but the circuits, thank you
Ironing your PCB on Borland C++ 3.x notes! I thought I'd be in the US for 3 years but ended up being away for 25. Last year, I finally got back to find the things I'd left behind waiting for me - including Borland C++ v3.1 for DOS on 3.5" floppy disks!
Must use Laser Printer for transfer. Laser Printer prints with plastic toner powder(not ink), that can be transferred to copper PCB with heated iron. If you don't have a laser printer, you can have printed by local print shop of your choice, like Kinkos, FedEx, or at your workplace. Most large large copy machines use Toner/Laser Printer inside for making copies. If you can print with inkjet at home, then you can have copies made on a copy machine that uses toner/Laser printer for making copies.
good work. i did some of them in the past, sun insolation, transparent printed sheet... and of course with permanent ink pen. i use cheap sulfuric acid (salfumant) + h2O2 mix... 👍👌👍
Very nice. I have also taken inspiration from you (you have very good skill to make PCBs only single side which is very difficult) and designing single side PCB and will make in home. Thanks for video which is very timely for me. By the way what is your job? You always busy in making projects one after another without gap. Very inspiring. Thanks.
This is real diy, but I don't understand why you not processed on reverse side as you did for other side? Wil it not be washed out as it's only printed ink
Sir ac line 220v se 6 run chaser ki gerber file mil jyegi kya . jisme 14 pin ki ic lagi hoti hai wo walior output pr 6 transistor pcr406 lage hote hai. Us circuit me ic ka no. Nhi mil raha hai kahi pr bhi
Please help. After ironing, i find it difficult to remove the paper from the copper plate easily. It sticks so hard to the copper plate and even if the paper comes off, i will still have a very thin layer of paper on the copper.
Making tracks with paper and toner when there is a photoresist is a bad idea, but silkscreen printing where such quality is not required is a good idea
This is VERY AWESOME! I have a degree in physics and certifications in electronics and scientific instrumentation, and I have never seen this done. I can't wait ti try it. Question... Is the CPU fan just being used to agitate the FECL3 solution or does it have another purpose?
