The Beatles: Get Back | Official Trailer | Disney+

- Опубликовано: 12 окт 2021
- The official trailer for #TheBeatlesGetBack is here! The Disney+ original docuseries, directed by
Peter Jackson, will be arriving on Disney+ just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday. Made
entirely from never-before-seen, restored footage, it provides the most intimate and honest
glimpse into the creative process and relationship between John, Paul, George, and Ringo ever
filmed. Be sure to check them both out, and don’t forget to watch “The Beatles: Get Back” when
it rolls out over three days, November 25, 26, and 27, 2021, exclusively on Disney+.
Directed by three-time Oscar®-winning filmmaker Peter Jackson (“The Lord of the Rings” trilogy,
“They Shall Not Grow Old”), “The Beatles: Get Back” takes audiences back in time to the band’s
January 1969 recording sessions, which became a pivotal moment in music history. The
docuseries showcases The Beatles’ creative process as they attempt to write 14 new songs in
preparation for their first live concert in over two years. Faced with a nearly impossible deadline,
the strong bonds of friendship shared by John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and
Ringo Starr are put to the test. The docuseries is compiled from nearly 60 hours of unseen
footage shot over 21 days, directed by Michael Lindsay-Hogg in 1969, and from more than 150
hours of unheard audio, most of which has been locked in a vault for over half a century.
Jackson is the only person in 50 years to have been given access to this Beatles treasure trove,
all of which has now been brilliantly restored. What emerges is an unbelievably intimate portrait
of The Beatles, showing how, with their backs against the wall, they could still rely on their
friendship, good humor, and creative genius. While plans derail and relationships are put to the
test, some of the world’s most iconic songs are composed and performed. The docuseries
features - for the first time in its entirety - The Beatles’ last live performance as a group, the
unforgettable rooftop concert on London’s Savile Row, as well as other songs and classic
compositions featured on the band’s final two albums, Abbey Road and Let It Be.
An exciting new collaboration between The Beatles and Jackson presented by The Walt Disney
Studios in association with Apple Corps Ltd. and WingNut Films Productions Ltd., “The Beatles:
Get Back” is directed by Peter Jackson, produced by Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Yoko Ono
Lennon, Olivia Harrison, Peter Jackson, Clare Olssen (“They Shall Not Grow Old”) and
Jonathan Clyde (“Eight Days a Week”), with Apple Corps’ Jeff Jones (“Eight Days a Week”) and
Ken Kamins (“The Hobbit” trilogy) serving as executive producers. Jabez Olssen (“Rogue One:
A Star Wars Story”) serves as the film’s editor, the music supervisor is Giles Martin
(“Rocketman”), Michael Hedges (“The Adventures of Tintin”) and Brent Burge (“The Hobbit”
trilogy) serve as the series re-recording mixers, and the music is mixed by Giles Martin and Sam
Okell (“Yesterday”).

A lot of people cry at movies. I think that this is the first time ever that I've cried before seeing the actual movie. The Beatles were our youth. Seeing them again, even on screen, is like getting back a bit of our youth that we miss so much.

@David Rosini that is truly impossible for their songs to die, ever! That`s like saying Beethoven or Mozart`s music is dead. Can`t happen
Their music won’t die any time soon. They just hit 6 million subscribers on their channel. Not bad for a band that released their first album 58 years ago

@@CommyPlayz They scanned the film in a higher resolution and repaired the defects (a whole lot in film, especially that old). any scratches, dust, degradation, colors shifting, fading. But nothing as involved as he did with They Shall Not Grow Old.
The big thing they say they've pioneered with this one is getting neural network/ machine learning tech to separate the sounds of instruments and different voices well enough to remix them. This saves the footage that was done with poor mic set ups. A one mike set up might have drums ways too loud, and maybe you can't hear the back up singing or piano. I'm looking forward to it. I think its almost all unseen footage too.

My wife and I had a discussion a couple years ago about who was/is the most influential band or singer. We concluded its The Beatles. No band or singer has had such an impact. Music, fashion, culture and other trends have never been impacted as much as this group. 50 years after their break up they are still revered. They took the world by storm and we are feeling the effects to this day.
Some may argue Nirvana had a big impact on the landscape of commercial music and fashion. Maybe not quite to scale of the Beatles but close.

Paul: what's our next move
John: we split George's instruments
I can't wait for this.
There is actually audio of George saying he is leaving the band. Unfortunately the fight that caused it, was not recorded, because it happend during lunch. The paper back then got the rumor wrong, George didn't had an argument with Paul, but with John.
John was really rude about the incident, not only did he play "A Quick One While He's Away" a song by The Who, but actually was thinking out loud to get Eric Clapton to take George's place.
@@mauricedorreboom5388 Was always under the impression that Lennon used dark humor and cynicism as a defense or coping mechanism to stressful situations. This kind of response is off putting and made him look like a dick. He probably had to apologize many times after he thought about what he had said and done...hurting feelings when his real, first intention was to protect his own. We are all made of the same stuff and end up the same way, but going thru all of it is unique to each of us.
Wanna hear a sad story. Some years prior to this, my grandad worked on George's dad's car. He part paid him with one of George's guitars. (They weren't the biggest band in the world at this point). Well said!
We will never see their like again !, you really have to have grown up with the music to fully appreciate how big they were and still are !
History suggests that towards the end, the Beatles were fighting each other. Peter Jackson is going to show us the true story. They had great respect for each other and came through for the greatest live performance of their lives. I can't wait.
And in a way, the 'true' story is irrelevant. Whether they were fighting each other, loving each other, larking about and having a laugh, quitting the band and then coming back...it's all just minor detail. As Paul says 'what are they going to remember in 50 years - they broke up because Yoko sat on an amp?' 50 years on, all that matters is that, miraculously, we have this incredible snapshot of perhaps the greatest cultural event of the 20th century: The Beatles.
The trailer feels like a time machine with how beautifully the footage was restored.
I saw you in AEW Channel.Btw nice to see u as a beatles fan😄
I think we should agree to disagree, personally I am disappointed to see that the original footage has been cropped from its original aspect ratio, and perhaps even worse, apparently scrubbed of all detail using DNR. I understand they have done this because this appears preferable to many of the philistines who typically use streaming services, however while I would consider this a poor restoration of the footage - in fact, more of a degradation/destruction of said footage - this does not diminish my excitement, I am glad we will get the chance to see it in any form.

He was spot on!
Paul said in an interview this year (2021) they broke up because John quit.
No they did not, and funny enough it has been pretty big news for the past couple days, cause McCartney just said in an interview Lennon quit the band to make art and Yoko had nothing to do with it. Yes that is correct, McCartney just confirmed Yoko had zero to do with the Beatles splitting, and even said Yoko was a great woman. He literally said Lennon walked in one day and said he wanted to be an artist and was quitting the band. I will take his word for it, cause he was there.
Beatles fans have known for a long time that it was never Yoko that broke up the band. No one has actually believed Yoko broke up The Beatles, it's just a stupid throw away statement just like "Ringo isn't even the best drummer in The Beatles" which John never said.

my favorite musician ever...first heard him in the mid 70s as a little child while he was in wings I suppose...I was instantly hooked hearing his voice on the radio...then as a teen going back and really mining his entire catalog from please please me through the beatles, wings, and solo...his body of work is so great. what I find today is alot of his solo work (ram for instance) that was still getting panned for being too pop or not up to his beatles standards is now being revered. it started to change when Kurt Cobain had mentioned ram was a big influence on him...suddenly that album was looked at as being one of the first indie rock albums....I never cared what the critics said regarding his work...I always found his melodies to be the key to really appreciating how great he was/is....a living legend for sure....sadly I think even though he is loved overall nowadays , his work won't get it's just due until after he passes...when stars are taken from us before an old age they are sent on a rocket ship of praise...lennon (who I loved also) was given so much praise upon his death that it seemed to take away from Paul's contributions...it has come back down to earth in recent decades. he is the greatest living musician at this point in my humble opinion
@@michaelfrazia4569 Absolutely. Good music exists because people like Paul McCartney, Elton John, Brian May and others still release music. They leave their legacies behind... They will forever be remembered.
I watched it on TV, and I still get goosebumps watching this trailer.
This film is a time capsule of such musical enormity ! Its unmatched by any other pop clip in history. This is the benchmark for all budding pop stars, who want to change the world, Even if its just the world of pop.
Peter Jackson never fails to impress me. He took this very old, hidden footage and made the Beatles come to life in this one trailer. I'm definitely gonna give this a watch.
Agreed
yeap the way Peter Jackson makes it look like a brand new film...avantgard from top to botton...it kicked the wind out of me...
Did you see They Shall Not Grow Old? Now that’s some impressive restoration footage from Jackson.
Absolutely amazing and beautiful
How are you doing?
This is what I needed. My grandpa just died yesterday and I need this in my life. Long live the legacy and love of the Beatles
So sorry to hear about your sad news. The Beatles Anthology T.V. series and the record were a tremendous friend to me as it came out soon after my Dad had passed away. It could not bring him back but it was a comfort nevertheless
Beautiful memories brought to light. Thank you
One of the best things of 2021, Thanks for bringing back fab fours, feels like the whole band filmed it yesterday.
I wasn't born when The Beatles were together but I love their music and I truly miss the members that passed away. Still lucky we got Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr
This is just incredible. It looks as if it was filmed yesterday. What a treat for all us Beatles fans. Thank you Peter Jackson
Yesterday... Love was such an easy game to play.
That's classic film footage for you...
That's god-awful DNR for you...
3:23 Heartstrings out when seeing Linda being happy alongside Paul again 💔
And isn't that wee Heather taking a whack at Ringo's drums and giggling when he jumps?
@@allenswanson2423 yeah, she is
2:07 this makes me cry every time i watch this part
I loved the initial promo but this one tops it. The other distilled the joy while this seems to capture that and a fair bit of the drama and emotion that's so associated with how we've known these sessions for decades.
"It's going to be such a comical thing, like, in 50 years' time.
'They broke up because Yoko sat on an amp'." Paul, prophetically.
Can. Not. Wait.
I felt the same after watching this promo just now. A little more drama, and the 3 part episode reveal.
Yeah basically the Get Out sessions were a failure. They had all these grand ideas for a massive concert somewhere, and an album that returned them to their simple roots (get back), and a documentary to go along with it. But in the end they all got totally on each others nerves, argued all the time, weren't happy with the album so got Phil Spector in to redo most of it, ended up just doing the concert on the roof of the studio, and the documentary is only being released 50 years later.
A really good documentary would be honest and focus on the way it failed, and how despite the fact it 'failed' it still led to the creation of some brilliant songs, and to an iconic moment on the roof.
Making it all sugary and sweet would be a disservice.
Thank God that someone had the foresight to record all of this, and then archive it for future generations. Amazing, I cannot wait.
The greatest group to ever do it and ever will do it.
my first memory is my mum dancing and singing along to Please Please Me in 1964 - can still see the colour of the kitchen cupboards, the coal range (yes!!) and the my dog, Limbo, I was 4 - I am so looking forward to this movie - Peter Jackson was growing up about 3 miles away from me, at that moment, so good on you mate. I'd do another 6 week flockdown to see this . . .
I feel like some part of this deserves a theatrical release
@@RogerYeahmon That is true, maybe someday then.
IMAX!
Yeah like, what if the most musically driven sections were released on cinema, WHILE promoting the full story in D+.
Buissiness is buissiness......
As an 18 year-old who just became a fan of the beatles recently, im very much excited for this!!!
I’m 30 now, but I was 18 when I first became a fan of theirs as well! Their music is very much timeless.
im 17
welcome to the crew
@@justinsayswtf same. Im 30 now and met the beatles at around 18.
That is lovely! I was about that same age when I became a Beatles fan too..... I'm 44 now lol
Four of the most talented musicians history has ever known . Thank you for uploading a slice of music history for the new generation as well as the old .
This was Truly So Moving to watch.... Brings tears to me on how Truly, Truly Close and Loving they were to each other...... It Really Was JUST THE BEATLES!!! It's just to bad that no matter what happened, they couldn't just Stay...
Truly the most influential artists of all time. Nothing like The Beatles ever again.
Quincy Jones said they weren't very good musicians. Actually he said they sucked as musicians. We all know that's an exaggeration but how did Abby Road sound so amazing. Was that George Martin?
@@vitocorleone8323 I would be calling that "sour grapes" from ole Q.
I was just a kid when they burst on the scene and took us all by storm. Hard to find a person alive today who wasn't touched by them in some way. Brings tears to my eyes.😥❤
@@vitocorleone8323 The Beatles are the best🤫🙄
@@vitocorleone8323 Sounds mad, being not technically good doesn’t mean they can’t write amazing songs.
I love how John gives a tip to George on writing Something and songs in general.
Yeah, a tip about Cauliflower
Not much of a tip. It just amounts to "do whatever until you like it", which is the only possible way to write a song unless you set it in stone before you like it.
Attract's me like a Cauliflower turned into like no other.
@@brandbusters183 Cauliflower was better.
@@GravityBoy72 boy that must be some attraction then.
This is gonna be the greatest Disney movie in history . Peter Jackson thank you so much for finding old footage my dad hasn’t seen for many years. This is gonna make him so happy .
My dads listened to there songs since his high school years and he absolutely loved them . Let it be here comes the sun and yesterday yellow submarine will always be his favorite songs .
I always loved the Beatles, so when I heard of this documentary/movie, I knew I had to watch it! BEATLES FOREVER!
It's like taking a trip back in time and landing in 1969 and being able to almost sit in with the band as if it's happening now.
What an amazing gift for the world.
2:00 really cool to see that moment between Paul and John. When you’re stressed and don’t know what to do next, sometimes all you can do is laugh!
The Beatles weren't a group of musicians. They were a group of real composers. Geniuses.
That is nonsense. They were an average band that created a good sound for pop music.
Better than average and with a unique synergy but not geniuses.
@@floki1664 Once again please, with clarity.
Why has this gem been locked away for so long 😍 This looks incredible, I can hardly wait!!
omg YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeeeeesssss!!!!!!!!!!!!
YEEEEESSSSSS!!!!!!!!
Yea, yea, yea!!!
Can’t wait for Nov 25!
What a wonderful gift, to have this footage. What a miracle that these four men, and George Martin, found each other. We will never see their like again.
Can you imagine having this much talent, it genuinely brought a tear to my eye.
I love the Beatles as much as life itself!
I prefer the Beatles to life! The Beatles are my religion!
Life itself is dark & cruel. Good people pass & is just gone, nothing guaranteed to "reach dreams & be happy" Bad people might steal your life & be more "loved" "Happy endings" used to be a thing" now i can't believe in anything. "Life goes on" is sh*t "hakuna Matata" is cr*p "let it be" is r*bbish "all You need is love" is f*cked, life is a Lot of bull** i can believe in nothing but in Yesterday, i can only believe in Yesterday
If you're impressed with this footage restoration, check out Peter Jackson's other project "They Shall Not Grow Old". Took lots of footage of WW1 and restored it to color, even adding sound!
Its great with his success that he can do his pet projects the film you mention is exceptional.
I for one would welcome award winning directors compiling and restoring old [unseen] footage to show us stories that haven't bee seen!
Ooo, do you know where I can find that? Is it on Amazon Prime, Netflix, etc?
@@daniellavaladez7820 Netflix, but it depends what country you are in
100% stunning film
It's finally here. Out next month and I can't wait. It dispels all the myths and shows 4 guys who cared for one another and were a great rock band. It gives an insight as to why it was so important to play live on a roof all those years ago. I'm excited.
I still find it iconic the fact that The Beatles started playing literally in a cave and ended up having the last performance in a rooftop, somehow I find closure and still think that's the best way to end their wonderful journey.
It was A Long and Winding Road.
