Daryn from iActiveRC popped over to our local model flying club to give me a demo of the NEW M1 Evo. A much improved version of the original M1 after customer feedback.
The OMPHobby M1 EVO RC Helicopter is the latest revision of the M1 helicopter. It has an updated carbon fiber frame and available in 4 new colors. It's a great micro (150 size) 3D Flybarless RC helicopter. Best for indoor flying during bad weather days. It can be flown outside as well.
Highlights of the M1 EVO:
o All new visual design fitting with OMP’s new line, available in white, red, orange and yellow
o Newly designed carbon fiber frame with central aluminium backbone
o New, crash-proof aluminium tail motor mount with painted CF tail fin
o Length adjustable tail boom for easy CG adjustment
o 1g lighter than the original M1
o Proven propulsion system of the M1, allowing for efficient, long flights
o Swash levelling tool included in package
Filmed by Dom and Keanne for the 'Essential RC' RUclips channel using the Panasonic AG-UX180 4K camcorder at our local model flying club.

I love my M1, M2 V2 and my M2 EVO good flying Heli’s and currently bound to my 14SG, can’t wait to get a hold of this one OMP M1 EVO.
Hi Dom great company with AMAZING helicopters and planes.
Indeed!
Great flying! They are very nice Heli's
cool choppers and flying
I was looking at the M2 evo, but now after seeing how well this handles and how it didn't destroy itself when it hit the ground I may have to rethink the size.
M2 Evo video from later that day coming soon Greg. It was so stable in the high winds. Even surprised Daryn.
@@EssentialRC Cool I will look out for it.
I have both, and I find myself being way more drawn to / aggressive with the M1.
Cool to see the crash. I was very impressed nothing broke at that head speed.
Yeah! Holy moly...You guys flyin' in a hurricane!
You have a video seems like every day thanks
Almost every day, yes.
The aluminium tail boom, if it's anything like the Goosky S1 aluminium tail boom, it will bend and snap as soon as you breath on it. They are cheap to replace I guess, and a hell of a lot more desirable place to break compared with the frame itself.
Will the frame for the evo work on the orginal?
I see there is a receiver on the evo. Which one was that?
I’m split between one of these or the goo sky s2.
Both very good either way one of them will be my next heli 🤟🏻
Never even heard of goo sky!? Great spare parts availability with OMP. Consider that.
@@EssentialRC yeah it’s matched to the M1 but has a mobile app where you can change all the settings. Trim/Throttle curves ect ect.
Both helis have some awesome reviews 🤟🏻
@@ShaneDubDj : The Goosky S2 is matched to the M2, not the M1. Both the S2 and M2 are considerably larger than the M1 shown here.
I own 2, M2 and Evo, but What I want them to do is take the design and scale it up to a 700mm size! So I can see it! Design is way too small for old geezers like me! I flew Nitro machines back in the 80's! there were no Electrics back than
How would you compare this to the m2 evo or 230s v2 for a beginner who is brand new to rc heli world?
Bigger helis are going to be more stable I guess but I had 4 flights on my M1 Evo yesterday in stabilised mode and it was great fun. Just getting the confidence up ready to try 3D mode and some inverted flying.
1st one to give thumbs up
Will it carry an FPV camera and TX? I flew 700 sized helis for years and always wanted to try an FPV heli. I have DJI Goggles V2 so I'd want to use the DJI camera system. Just wondering how small I can go with the heli.
You could fly the M1 analog. Dji is too big. The m2 might carry dji. Check out picoflyer on YT. A heli is not a good platform for fpv. The camera has too much jello / vibration shakes. Just get a drone
@@chrisbee5481 I have drones out the ass. I also know how to mount a good camera with no jello effect. I've had dozens of on board cameras on helis. Just no VTX.
@@mckrackin5324 an insta360 or gopro Soft mounted really does a good Job filtering out jello. Try you luck with a fpv camera on a heli. Not the same.
@@chrisbee5481 I have used FPV cameras on helis. Even nitro helis. I just never transmitted. Just stop. I'm not interested in your "yOu cAn'T dO iT" attitude.
@@chrisbee5481 You do understand that you can buy a factory built FPV heli right now. Right?
Perfect little heli but too expensive. Id rather spend a bit more and get a full size heli
I think you'd spend a lot more for a full size heli 😆
You'd have to spend quite a lot more Terminal! You must not be very familiar with helicopters :P
If you are a beginner, that would not be a very wise decision at all. It will very likely be one of the worst you will make in the hobby.
@@Aberamentho2010 depends how aggressively i fly it. Ive flown LOS quads for a while. If i take it easy im sure my toy will land mostly in tact
@@terminsane One of the main reasons for getting a heli this size is to not worry about the crash as you would with a full size heli. If you are wanting to learn 3d, your logic is a bit counter productive for helis.
Guy supposed to be a expert and pulls on the battery leads like a idiot 😂
We all do that ! 🙄🥱
@@EssentialRC no , WE all do not 😂
Nice machine, but currently about 15% overpriced.
Compared to?
@@EssentialRC
The comment is ridiculous. First of all, it’s more than worth the price. Secondly, these are so incredible, there isn’t anything to compare them to. The low cost and availability of parts is what makes a model great.
