    Another thought on the split PCB: It's kinda hard to put the PCB in that style of case, if it had been a single PCB. There are connectors protruding through the case on opposite sites, making it hard, if not impossible, to put it in.

    I contacted presonus after seeing this excellent in depths review. I asked if this has been resolved. They told me to register my product and then contact them for support.
    I sent them a link to this review and said that the shielding is an issue as most amplifiers in monitors are D class and so will emit HF (as shown). They said to get a power conditioner and to register for further support.
    Well, Presonus have really lowered their quality and customer service. I won't be buying their stuff again.

    i think it would be great if people could just check somewhere on a website and compare the benchmarks you measured by themselves, much like cpu and gpu do on hardware benchmarking websites, as for the table getting larger over time, i think what most people are interested in are comparisons of similar price range and maybe one or two of a higher price segment and one or two for a lower price segment, so that people have a general idea what to expect and when you are possibly being ripped off

    The Steinberg ur-c series also offers basic dsp processing at a really good price. It includes Eq, comp, reverb, and even some amp sims, which are all quite usable, with no latency. The reverbs are quite good actually. Plus there's loopback. Ideal for your use case i think. I've had the ur22c for three years and I've never had a more reliable but if digital audio gear.

    I have the exact same noise on my m-track duo, but it only happens on the line outs, doesn't affect recording or mic inputs, however it was driving me insane, so i spent a few hours to figure out where it was coming from...well other than being a cheap interface, the issue lies with the interface not having a proper ground and (insufficient isolation.) It was receiving interference over the usb cable/computer. I tried a whole bunch of cables including ones with a choke, but the only thing that ended up working was plugging it first into a powered $20 usb hub. The noise was reduced a ton. A side note: I tried plugging it into the usb hub of my monitor and it made it 10x worse...go figure...

    I would like the interface to convert the audio from the headphones from binaural to stereo, as if I had Waves Nx or DTS H:X V1, I do not ask for virtual 7.1, but it would not be bad either. You can always use Dolby Atmos or DTS sound unbound from the microsoft store.
    If you could load low latency VSTs in software, like a Host VST, you could do whatever you want, like put a De-esser in mid-side, a lot of videos and series are very annoying.
    I know that you can use VB-cable and VST-host, but if it was already integrated in the DSP hardware or in the presonus software it would be ideal.

    I don’t understand why PreSonus released this model at all - it’s too close in price to the io24 just $20 difference currently on sweet water. The price point still makes it too high to capture more of entry from the streaming market so seems like a waste of engineering to add a headset in jack and new form factor.
    Part of what sold me on the io24 was the plug and play nature and I could still have the dsp effects even connected to a work computer I can’t load with software. I wanted something with a noise gate, compressor and limiter and this met the marks plus gave me eq.
    I have the IO 24 and the screen size looks the same but because of the way it would sit on your desk it’s not an issue. At least there is a tiny screen rather than knobs flashing/ changing color on the focusrite scarlett.
    I agree that I wish the mute button allowed me to mute the microphone instead of my headphones. That’s my biggest wish list item but I mainly use this interface for work calls over anything else.
    Better visual indicators for setting up the dsp effects would be nice but not really holding me back.

    Presonus really needs to grow up. It’s way past time they accomplish the basics without fail. Quality control is a fundamental. Looking at their product line, you’d think they could locate such obvious flaws pre-production. RF interference is so basic a test for any piece of audio equipment with typically a very simple fix, such as an inline L-C filter at the power connector or audio IO. They don’t even have to design such a component in some cases as an off the shelf $0.25 all-in-one component is readily available.

    • @lolilollolilol7773
      @lolilollolilol7773 Год назад

      LOL "95% positive". You need to learn to understand product reviews. Good reviewers try not to bash companies for different reasons: they may want to keep good relations with the companies so that they could send them products to review (as opposed to having to buy them), and they try to stay balanced. But make no mistake, this review is largely negative and the reviewer would never recommend this product as the issues found are simply a non starter. There are many many much better products that offer a similar feature set at this price point out there, and that don't display these shortcomings.

    I want to like Presonus, because some products are innovative, but the quality just isn’t there and the price isn’t competitive with better alternative. Too bad.

    The mute button. What were they thinking!

  • @joesalyers
    @joesalyers Год назад

    With that noise it makes the io44 unusable for live audio for say guitarists or keyboard players who use software like Amplitube or soft synths live. The power Amps on stage will cause interference noise. My bass player found this out the hard way so he exchanges the io44 for the io24 and it didn't have this issue at all

    These idiots did the same thing with mute button on the io24. Why did they not care to listen when we told them we wanted the ability to mute tthe MIC????

    1st, I am a fanboy who has an io24, the thumbnail says it all.
    87.325% percent of you do not need the perfect interface and this one fits the needs of 68.785 % of you,
    If you need 2 inputs, then get the io24. Otherwise, this compares to interfaces named "Apollo" for most users and especially if you're streaming
    Thanks man ... important to me .... no help from Bandrew ... Please do the io24 as this is the one I own and I'm wondering if the same interference issue is present.

    Hey Julian! Ich hab auch ein interessantes Problem mit dem IO44, wenn Du mal lauschen magst?! ruclips.net/video/Q6179e9uNvo/видео.html
    Beide Interfaces liefen mit 44.1KHz/24Bit ohne irgendwelches Processing in Logic Pro hinein. Angestöpselt war ein SM7B mit FetHead. 🤷‍♂
    Ich krieg die Tage noch ein Motu M4 rein, bin mal gespannt, was damit so akustisch passiert... Aber ich habe das Gefühl, das Presonus beschei**t mich!

      Hi Doc, war der Fat Channel ausgeschaltet oder jeweils die einzelnen Effekte deaktiviert? (Zu sehen bei 10:08 im Video) Es gab mal einen Bug, bei dem der Frequenzgang komplett verändert wurde, wenn der Fet Channel komplett ausgeschaltet war. Ansonsten probiere mal den Fet Channel eingeschaltet zu lassen und nur die einzelnen Effekte auszuschalten. Und am besten prüfen, ob du die neueste Firmware installiert hast.

      @@JulianKrause Ja, der Fat-Channel war komplett ausgeschaltet, trotzdem klingt es ja so, als würde er noch "irgendwas" tun.
      Ich versuchs noch mal mit eingeschaltetem Fat-Channel und ausgeschalteten Effekten, ansonsten geht die Büchse umgehend zurück, zu viele Problemchen die einem den Spaß verderben.
      Danke für Deine prompte Antwort!

    I have found Presonus support less than satisfactory, it seems by the comments I am not alone. Perhaps if one falls for the 'rent never to own scheme" (thanks to Adobe for introducing rental to the market at large), then the support one receives may be better. Dismissing people by blaming their equipment or knowledge, when some have spent most of their life working in professional film, video and audio, reveals a poor attitude and lack of qualifications or training. The German side of the company seems excellent in software development (the country split is an assumption) but the US hardware side seems to be problematic. Someone known to me purchased 5 Presonus speakers for a secondary surround system for his composing studio. Presonus refused to allow him to register the speakers unless he sent serials, invoice AND photographs of each speaker. He never registered the units and now will have nothing to do with Presonus. If they only knew of his academic standing and invitations to give papers at universities around the world, - they might have been cognizant of the influence he has on academics and PhD students worldwide. Presonus you should look carefully at your support staff as they may be inciting customers to seek equipment elsewhere.
