  • Its a fight for survival and a sad yet sobering sight as this injured buck is relentlessly pursued by two coyotes across the South Dakota landscape.

    The buck has an arrow sticking out of his right side. You can see it at the 0:45 mark. Hopefully there will be a hunter trailing him.

    I'm not sure why this was posted on a channel seemingly promoting bow hunting...this video is a prime example of why bow hunting should not be allowed. The buck has been injured by humans, and is now suffering. This is the only reason the coyotes are pursuing it.

      You are correct. This is a prime example of why practice is critical to any sport. I also want to point out that we don’t run away from mistakes we face them and in archery like any other sport this can happen. It could have been a gun shot just as well.

    That was not ab attack. It was testing.

    • @eatwhatukiii2532
      @eatwhatukiii2532 2 года назад

      This is their method of attack. Since they are so much smaller in relation they use this tactic to take down larger prey. Coyotes will relentlessly "test", or rather pester, a deer until they tire it or it makes a mistake dodging one of their bites and they can cripple it just enough for it to fall down, and that's when they begin feeding on it, privates first then eating inward, while the deer is still alive to feel it all. It won't die until a major artery is torn and it slowly bleeds to death. People often find deer almost half-eaten in this way, STILL ALIVE and have to call a game warden because they can't legally shoot the deer themselves to put it out of its misery. This is why I HATE coyotes.

    that poor buck is limping do to humans being shity shots. why won't they put th poor animal out of its misery instead of watching it be eaten alive by nasty coyotes. this is why not everyone should hunt. some dobt respect the wildlife and dont deserve what it has to offer. shameful.

      If you are going to hunt, you have to have ultimate respect and treatment of said animals.
      BTW I could see the arrow sticking out of him at around 2:21 and a couple seconds past that, and 2:52 or so. Simply disgusting some human put an arrow into him and didn't do his full duty.

    • @chitinskin9860

      Yeah, they need some yote control. Not like deer are overpopulating faster than hunters can manage them because all of our better predators were killed off. Not like coyotes eat invasive species like house cats and pigs which do way more damage overall. People thinking like that are the reason why a tertiary predator is acting like an apex one on half the continent.
      Not to mention that most of your "control" methods actually make things worse. Just be cautious, no need to shoot every carnivore you see for looking in your direction.

    • @fermiticus4034

      As if being stalked and slowly killed by coyotes is any kind of "humane".
      A well placed arrow will see the animal dead in under one minute...much faster than the slow, agonizing death that will be dealt by any other predator.
      Given the choice...I'd take a double lung or heart heart shot from an arrow, long before I'd choose to be stalked and killed by coyotes...or any animal for that matter. There's nothing "humane" about killing...just MORE or LESS humane. We are predators...like it or not...we kill to eat.
