What is sad about American interviews is almost all reporters ask stupid questions, without any interest in their music and real personalities, the boys are joking in these interviews
Haha i love when the boys trolling over stupid questions, a bit sassy sometimes to prove the interviewer didn't listen to their song. Their sarcasm is clever 😂
What JHope was trying to say in that clip about dating that RM didn't translate was that they just hang out with each other or as a group to do activities and have fun outside of work, rather than dating. As other commenters have already said, they keep their personal lives very private - so we don't know if they're dating or what their sexualities are - and that's fine. They've always voiced their support for the LGBTQ+ community.
J-Hope did say they go on dates together. He was just being funny about it. I wouldn't say it was wrongly translated or anything, J-Hope was saying it like 'romantic date', just saying they go together instead of with a partner.
@@AngelaSealana yes I know, but j-hope was joking around too. They asked about romantic dating and he laughed saying “we go on dates with each other”. He was joking around about it.
Bts have not talked about their sexuality so we do not assume anything They just do not know what personal space between them is, they’re so touchy with each other you’ll get used to it lol, it’s really endearing (also in Korea it’s common for two male friends to be touchy with each other)
He didn’t say it was strange for them to be touching.. pretty sure he’s referring to the way they’ve framed jimin in this edit to make it look like those were their real reactions to the questions and not heavily edited. Jhope was also shown in the video to be saying members can date each other, which according to someone is a wrong translation … but that’s a fair question to ask at that part especially lol the video has a clear narrative they’ve created bc army will get the memes and stuff but he didn’t say it was bc they’re close to each other lol that’s all it seems like he’s just trying to be inclusive and let us know it’s a safe space for all
@@blazianaewilliams3558 It was edited, though. They cut back and forth between each of the members and Jimin, elongating the time he made that expression. That became a meaningful pause that the editor could use to make the .exe commentary. You see the same things in shipping videos - and political propaganda. heheh
@@kami-oj4cs Except that it is a part of Korean culture - two men going out to hang out together can also be called a "date" - literally, using the English word, they say they went out on a date. There is no sexual innuendo or insinuation - it's just what it's called. It has nothing whatsoever to do with sexualities.
As a K-army, I wanna add some explanations to what boys had said. Boys are doing the interview in English but the meaning they intended can be mistaken. We have a Korean word “데이트”,which originally came from the english word “date” and which we only use as two people having a good time hanging out whether the two are romantically involved or not. We don’t use this word as a verb that means to go out with someone and only use it as a noun. But to the question, if they ever date as in date date, Jhope answered like “he only dates with members” because the question is usually a no no in Kpop world and he would have wanted to avoid to give the direct answer. So what he would have more likely to have meant is what he could call remotely dates are things like going to some place nice and enjoying picnic at Han river with his teammates. And about the “finish this relationship” joke, it also would make more sense in translated Korean because there is an expression called “관계를 끝낸다”, which can be directly translated to “finish the relationship”. The relationship doesn’t necessarily mean the romantic one. This word play is supposedly funny because Jimin repeatedly asked “finish(ed)?(is that all?!)” wanting more compliments from RM and RM replied like “(Let’s rather) finish this relationship.” And that could be translated into, “Don’t push it. This praising in front of you thing is too awkward that I would rather finish this teammate-ship than giving you another praise.”
I had already known about the dating meaning in korea, in so far as it being normal for men to go on 'dates' without it being a romantic thing. I really wanted to comment about it but not being korean and only having a vague understanding I was hesitant to say anything. So im really glad to find this comment. You explained it so well 💜(and much better than I would have done) 감사합니다 🙏
They tease each other a lot, and han river in seoul is a very popular date spot, so hobi was making a joke about how the boys go on walks by han river, thus "dates" 🤣🤣🤣
Being touchy or affectionate between someone of the same gender in a platonic relationship is more normal there, especially if they’re close. Which considering they’ve lived together so long they definitely are close 😂 Honestly I appreciate seeing it. There’s such a stigma around platonic affection here in the states, especially between guys so it’s nice to see them hug or show any affection and it not be a big deal lol
BTS is a very touchy group of guys lol don't get confused by it, not only is skinship between men way more common in Korea but the guys are like brothers to each other, they been living together for 10+ years, they're family!
1:59: Hobi said "...with members" because he was trying to say that they date each other instead. Not romantically. There's an inside joke where the members go on "romantic" dates for fun just to keep each other company. Hobi did a picnic date by the Han river in Korea with JK and Jimin I think, and they even posted a video about it. So what Hobi wanted to say was, they go on dates on their own instead of a romantic one with a significant other.
What makes them more endearing is that they sometimes forget that they are millionaires and freebies excites them. As for the gay thing, no. No one has come out like that. And if ever someone does, the ARMY loves them unconditionally, at least I do.
they've never really talked about their sexualities before so we don't know. if they are gay/bi whatever good for them! they've just been together forever and basically have no concept of personal space anymore lmao sometimes u just gotta flirt with your homies
Ooh you start crack videos, this is great haha. When they talked about "date" at the start of the video, you should know that the term "date" (in English) in South Korea often used to say "to go out on a walk/movie/dinner with someone," so J-Hope basically interpreted the host's question as that instead of "in a relationship". But yeah, BTS members date each other, we fans admit it LMAO, jk.
As another commenter said, they must have done 20 interviews, being asked the same inane questions over and over. Who would you like to collaborate with? Who is your Hollywood crush? What's your favorite track? What do you love about yourself? (All the love questions were because of the release of the Love Yourself - Tear album.). Ohly a couple of journalists came prepared. By the end of the day the members were punch drunk, answering things at random and imo trying to find a way to not say the same thing over and over again. Really tiring for those who didn't speak much English. So, yeah, they just started trying to make each other laugh.
About their sexualities, we don't know neither do we care. The "gay" text was a meme, we like to meme a lot abt that and we also like to ship members together (say that someone in the group is dating another person in the group) but BTS has never spoken about their sexuality as anything but straight and in my opinion even if one of the members is gay they would never go public about it taking in the fact that Korea is an extremely homophobic country and that could quite literally ruin their careers there. BTS is already so brave as to show its support towards LGBTQ+ communities and speak freely about it in a place like that. Don't take crack videos seriously, this is all just fun.
"Skin ship" between men who are good friends is beautifully normal in Korea, unlike in the West, so they tend to be very, very touchy with each other, which I find endearing. 💜
1:55 when Jhope saying that they are go dating with members to the river. So in korea, date meaning is different with in US. If in US, we going to date with our girlfriend or boyfriend or lover. in korea we can go date with our family, sibling, n friends even with a bunch of them (not just two people). The date seems more spent a high quality time with people that close with you together at outside (not necessary involved romantic relationship)
Best explanation amongst all the comments I see in here and agree with especially when this same kind of context is seen in Kdramas in the use of words date.
This is the reason why ARMY loves Bangtan. Not just for their looks coz they sure as hell are very attractive. Its really their personality. Very humble and down to earth. The rawness, transparency, their selfless acts, their bond..i could go on and on. Others may say that other groups are better in terms of performance and all. But you see, being perfect in KPOP industry is almost a given. There's really a lot of great groups, singers, dancers there. Synchronized movements and all. But the personality BTS brings in to the game is really on a different level. The passion in every movement and every song is what sets them apart.
When you said in the end "I needed this" that's how all armys feel. With their music, their performances, their great relationship, their honesty, their sense of humor... They are just amazing human beings, capable of so much, and they do it all for us. And that's why we love them.
They are just being themselves And they are so comfortable with each other that they can say anything, joke around and diss each other without getting offended or offending each other And they are practically like this on and off cam Maybe that's one of the reasons why we love them Because they are so humble, and pure
This was during their Love Yourself tour, so they were constantly being asked either what they loved about themselves or each other in every interview they did. That being said, Suga is a pianist and I think that's why he loves his fingers. JK's thighs.... O.O ... practically have their own fan group, so.... he's certainly not wrong to love them.
My mother wondered about the fingers too, I said it makes sense because he needs them for piano and guitar playing lol. Get your heads out of the gutter lol.
They've never spoken openly about their sexualities, they tend to keep their private lives very private, BUT a lot of people take that to mean they're straight, which isn't necessarily true. For a few years now they've made an explicit effort to not use any gendered pronouns in their songs, particularly love songs, because (by their own words) "love transcends genders". They regularly talk about their potential partners with both male and female terms or gender neutral terms ("boyfriends or girlfriends"; "partners"; "people we date"). They own a frankly ridiculous amount of charity pride merch that they're not at all shy about wearing or displaying in their behind the scenes videos or on stage, including pride shoes, pride vodka bottles, pride nekclaces, pride pins, pride shirts, pride earrings, pride paintings, Jimin even gave himself a pride (bigender) tattoo for a photoshoot where he got a bunch of temporary tattoos that he felt represented him. Jimin also has a whole song and two performances specifically representing the Animus-Anima of the human soul, which is the presence of both female and male identities within each person. He's also in some very emotional moments talked about having a hard time with his presentation of masculinity when he was younger because he tried to be a traditionally "macho" guy and it took years for him to learn about and accept himself for who he is. Yoongi has said more than once in songs and interviews that he doesn't consider gender a factor of romantic relationships for him, but since there are some debates around the translation in these interviews a lot of people don't take that as a confirmation of him not being straight, but possibly an indicator. The boys have all been very loudly supportive of LGBT people and issues since pre-debut, especially Namjoon and Yoongi, and continue to be until today. Namjoon and Jungkook wrote and performed a love song about both a girl and a boy ("know you love me, girl, so I love you; know you love me, boy, so I love you"). So no, they have never explicitly spoken on their sexualities, but they're either *VERY* dedicated allies or some members are likely not straight. A lot of people (including in this comment section) tend to get very defensive about any suggestion that they might not be completely straight and a lot of people go the route of "don't assume their sexualities" - which I agree with. But assuming they're straight is very disingenuous, similarly. And what I've seen some people here saying - that only people who "ship" the members with each other think they're not straight - feels kinda homophobic, since mlm shipping, which is a lot of the time perpetuated by straight fans more than lgbt fans, is more a fetishization of gay relationships than any sort of representation, and there are many LGBT fans who identify heavily with BTS purely in terms of the conversations they have about gender and sexuality.
Loved your reaction!! Just so you know that in Korean touching, holding hands, cuddling, etc. is a normal thing for the same genders if their friends. These guys have been together and lived together for 8yrs or more, some members longer so they are very very close. They actually still live together. I believe they have their own apartments/house but they still prefer being together. The only thing I know is that a few members have said years ago that they liked a girl or had a crush on a girl but bedsides that, that is all we know. Here are some other funny video recommendations: -BTS being a mess on vlive -BTS in the Soop in a nutshell -BTS is their name, being chaotic is their game… -BTS Funny Moments Try Not to Laugh Challenge!!! by Jungkook 97 -BTS being scolded by Jin -BTS + Drugs= this video -RM being done with BTS English Also I wanted to mention that in Korea age is a really important thing. People treat each other different even the way they speak depending on age and the oldest has most authority. If they are older than you, they would have to respect the older members. That also being said Jin (World Wide Handsome) is not the leader of BTS but doesn’t really use his authority a whole lot so that everyone is comfortable. Thanks for reacting to the chaotic boys!!! They are so hilarious!!😂😂 Edit: Anytime you need a laugh, they definitely can do that.
Whenever I'm stressed out, all I have to do is watch something funny from them and I feel totally recharged. They lower my blood pressure, for real! :):):)
Yeah the assignment in itself was crap like how do you translate something like that on the spot especially if it's your first time even hearing the phrase "snatching wigs". 😅
In Korea there is no malice in being touchy. It is a culture thing. It is very normal for females and males too. It is an outward expression of "Jung" loosely translated as love, friendship or platonic affection.
I love seeing this so much. Welcome to the world of BTS, where beyond their amazing talent and professionalism are actually incredibly goofy guys and if you watch their content such as RUN BTS, you'll see so much more of that and I personally think you'll love them even more than you do now. It's always so amazing to see people meet BTS for the first time and realise how much more they are than being 'mainstream.' Like previous comments say, it's never your fault that you found them much later. BTS tends to find people when they need them most and that for me, personally, is true. They came into my life at the right time and I have grown and learned so much from these guys. Just like what Suga said, "The day you found them is the day they debuted for you." They are truly amazing artists and people and I completely understand why they are where they are now. Much love to you! xx I can't wait to see you grow more as an ARMY.
Just be aware this is what we refer to as a "crack video", which is to say there is a lot of cuts and editing that present things out of context and additional captions from the editor for the purposes of humour. So take it with a grain of salt, heh.
1. Nuance in interpretation gets lost in translation a lot, good thing to keep in mind. For example: when Jhope said going on "dates" with other members. The word doesn't hold the exact same meaning in korean. 2. Videos made for laughs are full of meme content and lacking context. (Sometimes a loss cus context can make a moment even funnier imo). 3. The touching is a cultural thing. Thank you for your content! Found you yesterday and subbed right away 💜
Very few people take the time to make an interesting interview, maybe because they think they're not worth it. And ask repetitive and superficial questions. It's always more of the same. At the extent that RM already knows in advance what they'll be asking and helps the guys memorize various probable answers letting them participate and be more active. There are two interviews I remember fondly, the one done by the guy at the Grammy Museum, he just treated them with so much respect and it was a serious interview, and the recent interview done by E Now's reporter Sakshma Srivastav. Different, fun, fresh. Also James Corden, Jimmy Fallon and Steven Colbert, have done a good job. The boys are very funny and once they break the ice, (usually Jin's or Hobi's job), they relax and they act naturally, just being themselves. Fun, straight forward, natural, humble, goofy guys.
we don't know their sexuality but they are very very touchy with each other they are very close, feed each other sit on each other sleep in the same bed hug and sometimes kiss each other they are like brothers. its how they interact really beautiful how they love and are comfortable with each other.
RUN BTS, In the Soop, and their docuseries/documentaries are other great ways to understand their personalties, show more of their camaraderie, and their growth and journey as artists. I highly recommend checking it out. You can find RUN BTS on the Vlive app and In the Soop/their documentaries on the Weverse Shop app. If you can't access either, you can find clips here on RUclips
They do a good job of keeping their private lives private..what i love about them is that they are not shy about showing who they really are. No filters, you see their personalities shine all the time. Pls watch a RUN BTS episode! Theres a ton of laughs there!
No lies, BTS are the funniest, sweetest and coolest people on earth. I have laughed until I was crying, cried until I passed out...every emotion is amplified with them and the best part is they do it all together like the most amazing family. Knowing that their are seven people in the world that have this kind of relationship with each other gives me hope. I normally would never recommend starting at the end but I honestly think you would like Bon Voyage, it was their retreat/vacation show from last year so it's new but I think very relatable to someone who may not know a lot about them just yet. It's very wholesome but still very entertaining and funny. Have a great week!
In Korea it's normal for close friends to have skinship, and the boys are really close to each other. About the interviews with the same background, BTS was promoting fake love and they only had a few days in the US before they went back to Korea, so they did as much interview as they could in one day, I think it was like 4~5 this day
This will be 1000 times funnier the more you get to know them. Their private lives are private. and ARMY is respectful of that. I find their affection for each other endearing. The American interviews they have to sit through are silly, like you saw in the video. If you want to see an outstanding interview check out the recent Indian interview with Sakshama Srivastava. She asked smart interesting questions and BTS gave her smart interesting answers.
The last clip of "snatching wigs" (which I have never actually heard nor known the meaning of) that RM translated into "jjeoreo" makes a whole lot more sense when you know "jjeoreo" loosely translates into "dope" in English. Which they actually have a song named "Dope" that's why the whole scene is so hysterical. If you feel ready to start watching some of their MVs "Dope" is a great song to start with. It's the one in which RM starts the video with "Welcome, first time to BTS?" 💜
Snatching wigs kind of came out of gay culture, especially drag culture. It means...being so impressed by something that you are overwhelmed and shocked with excitement. It may go back to how your head can get really hot when you're excited so to cool off, you'd take off your wig. So linking back to drag culture.
Aside from their music and its message, BTS has great personalities that Armys have grown to love. They all have goofy personalities that even with their riches and popularity, they remained to be humble and authentic. Pls check also the James Corden Show Carpool Karaoke, that was funny af. They have so much content from their Run BTS shows, travelogues in series, concerts, interviews, behind the scenes of their music videos, etc you will all be entertained. Check their youtube channel BangtanTV.
Hopped on here to answer some questions but I see other ARMY already have 💜 To summarize: 1) Dating does not mean the same in Korea as it does here in the US 2) Skinship is common among same genders in Korean culture 3) We don't know their preferences because that is their private life and ARMY respects their privacy. However, we do know they believe in gender neutrality, that everyone one should be free to be themselves & love themselves 💜 Anyway, hi 👋. 65yo from Utah that has been ARMY almost 4yrs and a new subscriber. I'd love to go on this journey with you 💜
I think a bunch of other ARMY have explained a lot of important stuff already, so I'll just give another fun little video suggestion. I think it would be cool to give you something a bit more fun and recent, that also allows you to get snippets of BTS' other content like their Run episodes. So I'm going to recommend a video called "Bts were wild in 2020" by Bunny Swag. It's another funny little treat of a video that has a bit more of their interactions with each other, as well as showing off their personalities as they did in this one!
I really see BTS as like frat brothers in the US. They lack boundaries which translates into they'll constantly poke at each other but understand their limits and would walk over coals for one another. Keep in mind that they were all under 21 at their debut so it's kind of natural that they leaned on each other more during this difficult years because they were ALWAYS together. If you want to see their real personalities I'd look for Bangtangtv's channel with Bangtang Bombs. These are totally random clips of them at home, in the office or during major award shows where we'll see everything from eating, and of course fighting over food, to the members taking (bad) pictures of each other sleeping. Sometimes it's going to be the entire group or sometimes it's 2-3 of the boys. CCs should be available for the Bombs from I think 2020.
In Bangtan world it's normal to see sooo much affection w/o malice...coz they are one loving & happy FAMILY 💜 I love them more for being crackheads & hilariously funny 🤣😍 BTS my happy pill🤗💜
A lot of comments r talking about their sexualities n yes they r true The members have not openly said anything about their sexualities but when rm was asked he himself said that they might have a boyfriend or a girlfriend in the future in the sense that they themselves arent quite "sure" ig...even if they r LGBTQ+ I really dont care cuz after all they r the same seven boys I have loved n will continue to do so 🥰💜
I really like your reaction, and i have watched all of your reaction towards our boys, but I hope you start reacting to "the rise of Bangtan" a really great docu-series
i just wanna add to the comments, that while we don't know about members' sexuality, we can say that they are lgbt friendly, because they were spotted with some some lgbt edition goods and clothes. when they rarely were asked about the theme of the same sex love, Suga said "There's nothing wrong. Everyone is equal". i also remember Suga saying that for him his ideal type is not limited to the opposite sex, but more depends on personality. and also they wear make up without doubting it as an "only female" option; they don't care about gender of the clothes - you'll often see them casually wearing female blouses, jackets etc on some events or just everyday life, Jungkook's clothes is often belongs to the genderless brands; they had photoshoots in unisex style with skirts and dangling earings and gems and pearls and heels and whatever society tends to mark as female thing
BTS haven't spoken about their sexuality or sexual orientation. Jimin questions constantly what people expect from gender norms, and break barriers, tho. The members have said in the past that they have learned a lot about that thanks to Jimin. The closest you could find to one member talking about their sexual orientation is Suga's interviews and lyrics that suggest that he doesn't care about sex or gender when choosing a love/life partner, suggesting that he might be pan or bi. Beyond this, everything else is unknown to us, and we don't care, in the sense that whatever makes them happy, is ok for army. And, this type of videos are meme-full so, just take it as that: memes and crack/funny videos :)
The Suga thing is a misunderstanding in the fandom. All he said is that the qualities he's looking for in a lover, he's also looking for in a friend regardless of gender. All that he implied is that he is looking at personality when chosing people in his life. I wish people would stop bringing this up as proof since it was from a japanese interview, translated into korean and then into english. A lot of it is was lost in translation.
@@NarcotixSanji yes that's true but there are other occasions such as cypher pt.3 that suggests he's not straight. of course it's none of our business and we'll support him no matter what.. but i'm just saying heterosexuality isn't the default either.
Gosh, this mistranslation again, still spreading among the fandom. It's boring. He never said such thing. Suga is straight, it's commonly known by ssngs. And let me tell you that Koreans aren't aware of the different sexualities popular in the west such as pan, demisexual, etc. They only know gay, bi and trans (briefly). Ask k-armys to tell you about pan and you'll see they don't know anything unless they've lived or studied abroad (in a western country).
@@veera4357 "As you know my voice makes people horny / I can send people to orgasm with rap from my flexible tongue action" . He is boasting about his rap skills and tongue technology. Comparing an orgasm to hearing his rap. Nothing but an analogy.
they don’t talk about their sexualities but they have expressed their support for the lgbtq+ community. in the recent years their lyrics have become mostly gender neutral. us lgbtq fans sometimes lightheartedly joke about them to find comfort. in an american interview when asked about dating namjoon has talked about how they don’t have ‘boyfriends or girlfriends’ and makes sure all of us feel included and supported. i really love that about them.
I just bing watched your journey to this fandom 💜 and I cried a little. I am so happy for you!! BTS is for everyone, there is something everyone can take from everything they do, be it life lessons or enjoyment of any form of art they are putting out. Welcome baby army💜💜
The fact that they don't talk about their sexuality is actually so nice, they get to keep that part of life private and there are no scandals about dating - breaking up in the media. At the same time they are all very supportive of LGBTQ+ community and has shown it in many small ways over the years (it is still a big taboo in Korea so it's not like they can make BIG statements, but they clearly made many smaller ones), created their BT21 line characters as non binary, once RM said they don't have any "girlfriends OR boyfriends" cause of touring so much, Yoongi mentioned he only cares about the personality of the person and not their gender, so it just always sounds very fluid and nice. Whatever their preferences are, all we know is that they are definitely supportive of each other in the group and that's all we need to know really.
This video was about the Love Yourself era/albums, that is why they were asked what they loved about themselves and others in the group many(many) times. It's a few interviews - in Korea you promote a new song for a while after it comes out. US interviews can be a bit superficial, for a few reasons, but we get funny moments at least
Namjoon = being done and feeling sorry for his 6 dorks Jin = world wide handsome you know? And being extra Suga = quite and nodding to everything Namjoon says even if he doesn't understand. Jhope : being loud and shinning more than the sun Jimin : flirting with everyone V: thinking loud Jungkook : smirking and searching for Korean subtitles .
We don't know their sexualities but BTS have said in interviews that they don't have boyfriend or girlfriends, Yoongi has said his preferences aren't limited to the opposite sex, and JM has used the bigender symbol in a photoshoot before. It's up in the air. My fellow lghtqia+ ARMYs often say they're gay as a form of self comfort as we can recognize aspects of ourselves in them, but we are not actually assuming their sexuality. I would also like to firmly state that we should NOT assume they're straight either.
Im so glad you found it funny cause some reactors first time funny vids are just "But why are they doing that???" We dont know! Thats why its funny! lol Loved the reaction!!!!
Most Asians are very touchy freely. We don’t know their personal life but I just wanted to say that what you see is very natural to them and they don’t even consider it being gay.
Yea so when it comes to sexuality in Korea...they are very CONSERVATIVE and traditional. Also, idols can not come out as gay openly because they could definitely be BLACKLISTED from society...LITERALLY. It happened to this one openly gay Korean idol named Holland and it's so sad. However, yea so usually you won't hear of any kpop idols being gay (openly) at least. Also, remember that in Korea affection between the same gender is NORMAL. Western ideologies just makes us believe that it's "suspect" or "gay behavior" ....ugh I hate west thinking...so homophobic and toxic for what...who knows. However, a lot of people do that in Korea and you see it ALL THE TIME within male kpop idols so you get used to it lol. However, when it comes to BTS most of us usually say that we don't know their personal lives and we don't assume or CONFIRM their sexualities as it is not our business and even if they were the true ARMY would still love them regardless. So yea, we wouldn't really know any idol's sexuality TRULY for numerous reasons but the main reason being idols are very secretive with their personal lives sometimes. However, yea I hope that answered your question, and don't get me wrong maybe there are some downlow gay kpop idols but we just would not know because of how conservative Korea is and because sexuality is personal unless people are expressive about itit. There have been many kpop idols who have talked about their LGBTQ+ fans before and waved the actual pride flag in support so yea we love that for the most part some of them are aware and respectful.... but yea and thank you for being so aware and open-minded! I love that! I am a new subscriber. 💖🏳️🌈
You know... Suga has a song that says " I don't give a shit i don't give a fuck" that is like we, army, think about they being gay or not, we really just don't care, we love them for who they are. Hope you also will be army soon.
Thanks for the wonderful vídeo! 🥰💞💓 Bts boys never made their sexualities explicit because of cultural taboos within Korea. Artists being openly in a loving relationship is still highly judged there. But despite this they never actually speak up one way or the other, some questions are left open. Like the fact that Namjoon has already said that they "have no girlfriends OR boyfriends" then, by their decision, this personal aspect of their lives is not publicized. However, our mens always show support with the lgbtqiap community, with respect to people and their experiences and this is enough to understand that they are people with very beautiful hearts. 🤧❤️
Dont know if any of them are LBGTQ but its pretty common for Koreans guys to be touchy with each other when they communicate. Culturally, they tend to be more expressive and open with their close circles.
Great reaction! This is one of the first videos I watched of them that really started to get me hooked! As for sexuality, I don’t think any of them have publicly announced anything. But this video is just for fun and edited to focus in on touches like that for the crackhead energy feel, you know? Also, I’m not sure if you’ve done an intro to each individual member yet, but Jin’s fan name is WWH, WorldWide Handsome, and he likes to play around with it cause he thinks it’s funny that people consider him handsome outside of Korean beauty standards! Loved this reaction!💜
we dont have any confirmation that any of them are queer but thier have been clues to the possiblity of some of them like Namjoon ones said that gender doesnt matter to him also Yoongi has mentioned in a few songs that he can turn on all genders as well as they do all support the lgbtq+ community i recommend you just do some research cuz they could be but also they have joked around with each other saying that they would like to date each other also Tae once said that he would marrie the members also in korean culture its more normal for men to show this type of relationship between friends ecspecally since bts are like family and have basically grow up together and a big part of kpop and the Korean culture is skinship
The comment Jhope made about dating the members does not mean romantically. We do not know their sexual preferences & we don’t care (not our business). But the was a media organisation-Dispatch (think like TMZ) that followed them for over two years trying to ‘uncover some dirt/scandal’ but gave up because the guys are always together or meeting up with each other or some of their known friends. They are always unapologetically themselves (adorable dorks) & we love them for it. You might enjoy the videos - no one disses BTS like BTS or BTS is not a group they are family
When there's a new comeback, first the band will have a huge press conference mostly in Korea then in the US they will go on a press tour. These clips are from the press tour for the Love Yourself tear album if I'm not mistaken.
What Yoongi wants, Yoongi gets!! And Chart data says "Butter" is the first #1 debut by a group to remain at #1 on the Hot 100 in its first three weeks this century. They deserve it.
They have been together for many years ,its very normal for them to be touchy ,not all members like it but it's still very obvious 🤣🤣 EVEN someone from a KOREAN reality show said that bts are very close ,it is very uncommon in boy groups. Even CEO BANGPD said that the boys love each other so much that they dont know what to do .ITS A VERY LOVING AND CARING FAMILY, THEY ALWAYS CALL EACH OTHER BROTHERS, it's just normal for them ?
What is sad about American interviews is almost all reporters ask stupid questions, without any interest in their music and real personalities, the boys are joking in these interviews
Yes my thoughts💜😭
Haha i love when the boys trolling over stupid questions, a bit sassy sometimes to prove the interviewer didn't listen to their song. Their sarcasm is clever 😂
fr like I want to die every time they ask stuff like " what's your favourite English word "
Koreans use the word "date" to mean something with friends and/or romantic partners.
@@AngelaSealana yes I know, but j-hope was joking around too. They asked about romantic dating and he laughed saying “we go on dates with each other”. He was joking around about it.
They aren't support lgbtq community, they also support teenager, women and any types of hardsheep people face their life.
@@supriyaashu4857 They do support the LGBTQ+ community.
Bts have not talked about their sexuality so we do not assume anything
They just do not know what personal space between them is, they’re so touchy with each other you’ll get used to it lol, it’s really endearing
(also in Korea it’s common for two male friends to be touchy with each other)
He didn’t say it was strange for them to be touching.. pretty sure he’s referring to the way they’ve framed jimin in this edit to make it look like those were their real reactions to the questions and not heavily edited. Jhope was also shown in the video to be saying members can date each other, which according to someone is a wrong translation … but that’s a fair question to ask at that part especially lol the video has a clear narrative they’ve created bc army will get the memes and stuff but he didn’t say it was bc they’re close to each other lol that’s all it seems like he’s just trying to be inclusive and let us know it’s a safe space for all
@@blarmy827 Jimins reaction wasn’t an edit
@@blazianaewilliams3558 It was edited, though. They cut back and forth between each of the members and Jimin, elongating the time he made that expression. That became a meaningful pause that the editor could use to make the .exe commentary. You see the same things in shipping videos - and political propaganda. heheh
@@flyushkifly watch the interview this literally happened in the interview maybe they edited to show every members face but the pause is real.
They have confirmed that they all like women so they're either straight or bi, smt like that
Bromance is normal in Korea, its not being gay, they are just so touchy like brothers, its Asian culture, and its not gay.
Relevant to note that it's more prevalent in idol culture as well as younger people.
but we actually don’t know their sexuality
yep, even when I tease my brothers as gays they would just laugh it off then would act gay in front of my mom lmao
or it could be gay. we dont know. and if it was we wouldnt care.
@@shook4kooks4k95 Thank you for your kind comment~💜
That’s actually helpful, thank youuu. Imma learn Korean, I promise
Yes they are the biggest band in the world. This is why we stay because they are just so unapologetically themselves always
11:29 Hyung line is like “oh yeah we know all these older artists” while the Maknae line is like “huh?” 😂😂😂
"sometimes u just gotta flirt with your homies" LMFAOOOOOOOO 😭 so true
Also, shipping members ironically its ok and funny but shipping seriously no
Suga is pan or bi
@@dyniadyniadynia i think that too
Shipping for friendships is common too, not just romantically. Still kinda weird imo but I get that it's fun
@@dyniadyniadynia he hasnt confirmed that tho
"Skin ship" between men who are good friends is beautifully normal in Korea, unlike in the West, so they tend to be very, very touchy with each other, which I find endearing. 💜
1:55 when Jhope saying that they are go dating with members to the river.
So in korea, date meaning is different with in US. If in US, we going to date with our girlfriend or boyfriend or lover. in korea we can go date with our family, sibling, n friends even with a bunch of them (not just two people). The date seems more spent a high quality time with people that close with you together at outside (not necessary involved romantic relationship)
J-Hope was definitely saying it in a romantic sense, just joking about it though, that's why he laughed.
Best explanation amongst all the comments I see in here and agree with especially when this same kind of context is seen in Kdramas in the use of words date.
OMG! You’re gonna get a glimpse of the crackheadness of our Bangtan Boys 😂
They are just being themselves
And they are so comfortable with each other that they can say anything, joke around and diss each other without getting offended or offending each other
And they are practically like this on and off cam
Maybe that's one of the reasons why we love them
Because they are so humble, and pure

Also I wanted to mention that in Korea age is a really important thing.
They are so hilarious!!😂😂
Edit: Anytime you need a laugh, they definitely can do that.

That's why we love them. ....they are just real and cool and dorky and loving all roled in one! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Now you see Why we love them. Such authentic guys!!!
Whenever I'm stressed out, all I have to do is watch something funny from them and I feel totally recharged. They lower my blood pressure, for real! :):):)
honestly the best thing to know about bts is they are major ball busters but they love each other deeply. but also .... huge ball busters lol
Also, that word RM gave him at the very end definitely does not mean "snatching wigs", lol.
Yes... BTS is Comedian and being Idol is part time 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I can't wait for you to learn all the members individually. Are 7 of them are just so amazing I can't even find the right words to describe BTS.
We army love everything about the boys, what they do on and off stage, being themselves, being genuine but we never talk or question their sexuality
Never NEVER get between BTS and food. NEVEEEEER.
I laughing the whole video and afraid at the same time that you might misinterpret something’s when they become flirty with each other 😂
In Korea it's normal for close friends to have skinship, and the boys are really close to each other. About the interviews with the same background, BTS was promoting fake love and they only had a few days in the US before they went back to Korea, so they did as much interview as they could in one day, I think it was like 4~5 this day
Love that you stand up for what every anyone wants to be. Love is Love
And Granma museum
@@HadassaMoon144 You know linking it to drag gives the saying a lot more meaning. Thank you. 💜

Aside from their music and its message, BTS has great personalities that Armys have grown to love. They all have goofy personalities that even with their riches and popularity, they remained to be humble and authentic. Pls check also the James Corden Show Carpool Karaoke, that was funny af. Bts Being bts at Award Shows is also sooo much fun
Hopped on here to answer some questions but I see other ARMY already have 💜 To summarize:
1) Dating does not mean the same in Korea as it does here in the US
2) Skinship is common among same genders in Korean culture
3) We don't know their preferences because that is their private life and ARMY respects their privacy. However, we do know they believe in gender neutrality, that everyone one should be free to be themselves & love themselves 💜
Anyway, hi 👋. 65yo from Utah that has been ARMY almost 4yrs and a new subscriber. I'd love to go on this journey with you 💜
in south korea, male can show affection to one another like holding hands, hugging etc and it's still considered normal..
In Bangtan world it's normal to see sooo much affection w/o malice...coz they are one loving & happy FAMILY 💜
I love them more for being crackheads & hilariously funny 🤣😍
BTS my happy pill🤗💜
They love goofing around.
JINs laugh is music to my ears🤗😂

bts is so pure
A lot of comments r talking about their sexualities n yes they r true
The members have not openly said anything about their sexualities but when rm was asked he himself said that they might have a boyfriend or a girlfriend in the future in the sense that they themselves arent quite "sure" ig...even if they r LGBTQ+ I really dont care cuz after all they r the same seven boys I have loved n will continue to do so 🥰💜
I really like your reaction, and i have watched all of your reaction towards our boys, but I hope you start reacting to "the rise of Bangtan" a really great docu-series
Love that you're exploring more of their personalities. Once you see more of their family bond, you'll be hooked 💜.
i just wanna add to the comments, that while we don't know about members' sexuality, we can say that they are lgbt friendly, because they were spotted with some some lgbt edition goods and clothes. when they rarely were asked about the theme of the same sex love, Suga said "There's nothing wrong.
Are you ok over there? Lol Yeah they are silly and that is putting it lightly lol. This is only just a glimpse of their extraness lol

They are like that they are so down to earth individual 😂😂😂 They forget they are so popular 🤣 Thats why we love them🤣🤣😂😂💜💜✌️
i got WAY too excited to see this reaction video😂
they don’t talk about their sexualities but they have expressed their support for the lgbtq+ community. in the recent years their lyrics have become mostly gender neutral. us lgbtq fans sometimes lightheartedly joke about them to find comfort. in an american interview when asked about dating namjoon has talked about how they don’t have ‘boyfriends or girlfriends’ and makes sure all of us feel included and supported. i really love that about them.
OMG.... They are a crazy bunch! 💜💜💜💜💜😁
I feel like you will love watching the video called BTS are literal soulmates. It shows the bond they have with each other.
The original one actually went viral with over 20M views on RUclips, it's a shame this masterpiece got taken down.
This video was about the Love Yourself era/albums, that is why they were asked what they loved about themselves and others in the group many(many) times. It's a few interviews - in Korea you promote a new song for a while after it comes out. US interviews can be a bit superficial, for a few reasons, but we get funny moments at least
Sometimes the meaning of the word "date" is different in different countries.Hanging out with friends where I live also counts as a date.
you should react to bts being a mess on vlive it’s hilarious and it shows how they interact with each other naturally more
Namjoon = being done and feeling sorry for his 6 dorks
Jin = world wide handsome you know? And being extra
Suga = quite and nodding to everything Namjoon says even if he doesn't understand.
Jhope : being loud and shinning more than the sun
Jimin : flirting with everyone
V: thinking loud
Jungkook : smirking and searching for Korean subtitles .
Im so glad you found it funny cause some reactors first time funny vids are just "But why are they doing that???"
We dont know! Thats why its funny! lol
Loved the reaction!!!!
Most Asians are very touchy freely. We don’t know their personal life but I just wanted to say that what you see is very natural to them and they don’t even consider it being gay.
Also the boys refer whoever is older to them in the group as “hyung” which means older brother and they all pamper the youngest one.
in the past yoongi has hinted that he could be pansexual
They go on "Dates" together hahaha we don't know what kinda but they do hangout with each other in different pairs or in group
이분은 이미 아미됏어요~ 추카추카요😇
They’re the best comedians 🤣
That was so much fun! Thanks for this reaction
Thanks for the wonderful vídeo! 🥰💞💓
Bts boys never made their sexualities explicit because of cultural taboos within Korea. 🤧❤️
If your going to continue this crack rabbit hole.. buckle in! Its a wild ride 😂
