    My husband has been trying to talk me into getting a swamp cooler. Seems like your happy with yours might have to pick one up. We are in California too and its been brutal working out in the garage. Great video love seeing other peoples laser work area setups. Definitely got some good ideas from this video!

    Brett I enjoyed the tour..I am a long-time woodworker and newbie laser and CNC owner. I have been looking at mini computers and hard drives to do the exact same setup for file management in my shop. But I do not know how the pieces fit together... I would love to see a short video on how to set that up...Love your channel...keep the content coming

      You have a creator who is trying to help promote your product and instead of saying “thanks” or “we appreciate your partnership” and finding a nice way to let his viewers know it’s an expired discount you come on his platform and just say “Expired 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽”…
      I will think twice next time I consider a monoport.

    • @LaserGarage
      @LaserGarage  2 месяца назад

      @TheExtremeElementz I think you’re being a little hard on them, I’m pretty sure it’s just a language barrier type of thing or auto correct or something. But you’re right, you should think twice about buying any laser. They are a big investment.

      @@LaserGarage Maybe you’re right, I respect your opinion and as small time creator/designer for the 3D printing community I actively will take screenshots of comments on my work, find out what language they are speaking and use google translate to say thank you with a little message in their native language. I do this because I care and they took the time to comment on a design I made so it’s the least I can do. Loved the shop tour, glad you support Thunder!

    Great video!! I really enjoy watching your videos. What are the temperature and humidity levels that the laser machines can withstand? I have a Glowforge and based on the manufacturer description, it can't be in the garage during the Houston TX summers.

    • @LaserGarage
      @LaserGarage  2 месяца назад +1

      Thank you so much, I’m glad you’re liking the videos. There’s many more to come.
      The manual for the bolts gives a 59-95F degree range and 40-70% humidity not condensing. I don’t have humidity in CA really but my garage temp range is anywhere between 40-100 degrees I would say depending on the time of day and season. I haven’t had any issues.

    The air you blow outside, from the lasers, do you filter it? Did you ever run into trouble with the neighbors because of noise/smell? I allways fear someone will complain

    • @LaserGarage
      @LaserGarage  Месяц назад +1

      No and no. I'm cool with my neighbors and we ask them all the time if they smell anything, they say they don't. If we're running a lot it to me it kind of smells like we have a camp fire or fireplace going. Plus I guess it helps that while we're running during the day everyone is gone at work.

    I know the the Thunder Laser Bolt is a higher end laser with wonderful engraving. Are you satisfied with the Monport laser for cutting and light engraving? I love your channel. I have learned s much.

      The Monport is a great value and got us in the game. I’m very glad I bought it and I would choose it again if I were in the same position. We still use the Monport almost everyday, mostly for cutting now though. I have a lot of videos about the 80w if you haven’t checked them out. Fast forward through my old livestreams too, I do a bunch of live demo’s using it. Thanks for watching and let me know if you have any questions.

    How do you like using the fiber on tumblers? Do you think it works as good as a CO2 galvo would? Thanks

    • @LaserGarage
      @LaserGarage  2 месяца назад

      It was a little tricky to dial in the fiber settings because there’s a fine line between taking off the paint and engraving too deep into the stainless steel. The best part for me is having a dedicated setup. I’m not doing a ton of of tumblers yet but just starting to get to work on marketing them.
      I’ve never used a co2 galvo machine so I’m not sure about that though. I would like to get my hands on one someday for glass though.

    Lots of great info. I recently bought an 80W 3624 monport largely based on your video series, and love it. Been cutting 1/2" walnut and poplar at 30mm/s and only 60% power (35psi air assist of course). Wondering why the "not a perfect machine, by any means" statement given the cost to benefit ratio. What do you find lacking, after upgrades? Just curious!

    • @LaserGarage
      @LaserGarage  2 месяца назад +1

      Thanks a lot Neil! I love my Monport 80w don’t get me wrong and I’ve never had any problems with it. Like I said we still use it every day. The only thing that it’s lacking is customer service. Now I knew that going in so it’s not an issue but some really knock it for that.
      Those are some fast settings! I’m glad you’re happy with your Monport and thanks again for watching.

      @@LaserGarage yeah, for the price, im ok with the customer service. I think, if people are building these DIY on the maker scene, I can figure out how to replace parts.
      Another Q- got a link for the networked hard drive? I have a shared folder on my main design computer that I can access from the shop computer, but office computer needs to be on for it to work.

      Definitely. I really love using them and they’ve worked really well. I added a Home Depot link in the description. There’s a lot of these steel storage racks out there that will work as well. Thanks for watching.

  • @antkn33
    @antkn33 7 дней назад

    4:08 did you cut these racks in half to position them side by side?

    • @LaserGarage
      @LaserGarage  7 дней назад +1

      No. Each rack is one complete unit, 48” wide x 72” tall. Only I just used half of the uprights and all the shelves on each to make them half the height. I have 4 extra uprights but this allowed me to build it this way with this amount of shelves.
      Each rack is designed to be able to be split in half and built like a workbench but if I did it that way I would have had one side with three shelves and one side with only one. I needed lots of low shelves in order to store material. Make sense?
