This is fantastic! I made 1 for my son and now making 2 more for my nephews. The pattern is so accurate and easy to follow. I have a small tip- instead of a dowel I used a shortened wood broom stick with male-threaded connection and a matching PVC "T" with female-threaded connection, so no glue needed and I think it's more secure this way. This is such a fun project, thank you so much!
Hola soy de Colombia y estoy haciendo este hermoso proyecto para mí niña se lo estoy haciendo en versión caballito que se lo pidieron en la guardería ❤ Está hermoso gracias por compartir tus conocimientos ❤❤
These are adorable! This is an incredible project you've put together! you are quite talented and organized. I love your idea of running stitch; I've never seen that. I've been crocheting maybe 7 years. I have problems skipping stitches. I work slowly so not to. I don't know anyone who crochets or knits. THANK GOODNESS for RUclips so I have tutors and others with whom to crochet! Yes, I appreciate you doing this difficult task. I'm currently working on projects through winter. I definitely want to make this in Spring! It's so exciting to look towards. This is so cute I can't wait. I am watching through vid now. Thank you!
I’ve been waiting all day to come home to see this video. So excited great job! I can’t wait to make this for my granddaughter she’s going to love it! Thanks Valerie awesome awesome work 🦄
I really love this video.. getting the materials tomorrow . You are so sweet.. explain everything so well . I will definitely subscribe to your channel
Seasons greetings!! I am making this now. I decided on a whim to make 2 of these for my little ones and the universe was clearly on my side bc I found this immediately upon searching! Thank you so much for this CAL!! Will definitely post up my work on Instagram.
You published this adorable tutorial on my birthday! What a wonderful gift!!! AAAAND my only grandbaby, Emmi is turning 2 the end of February and I am going to make her this! I made her a unicorn cake for her 1st birthday. It was the 1st time I had ever made a cake different from the traditional way. I got my ball of yarn and I'm going to check the supply list right now to get the hook size that I need. Thank you so much for this 3 part tutorial! It is one of the cutest tutes I've ever seen!
Hi Missi! I hope your sweet grandbaby loves it! My daughter (who is two) has me ride "corns" (because she can't say Unicorns) with her all the time! Thank you for liking my work!!! I really appreciate it!
@@oldsoulcrochetco.7887 I know she will love it! I bought the rest of the yarn I needed at Wal-Mart today. I wasn't too thrilled with the only pinkish color I could find. I wanted the pink you used but the only one they had was a pink and orange variegated blanket yarn. But that is better than nothing and I think it will still be cute. I went to Lowe's and got the dowel and the plumbing t. I also went to the Dollar General got the pantyhose, but they were $2 but that's still not a bad deal. I think I'm almost through with the head and it is going really fast. I looked through your other videos and I was amazed at the cute animals that you have designed. I have crocheted for probably 25 years now and I can crochet pretty much any pattern. And there are a few things that I have made without a pattern but I do not see how someone can figure out how to make things like stuffed animals because there's so much shape and I just don't know how someone can figure that out without following a pattern so you are really talented because those animals are so so adorable. I plan to make a lot of them. Thanks again for this tutorial! I think you said you are on Instagram, and if so, I will post a picture of it when I'm through, if I can figure out how to do that. 💓💓💓
@@RameyRocks The color I used for the head was "Blush" which might only be at JoAnns. I do have the pink and orange verigated in my stash, and I have been thinking about making another unicorn out of it...but I haven't decided yet! I'd love to see how yours turns out! I am on instagram @oldsoulcrochetco . The fact that you like my work makes me so happy! Thank you, thank you!
Looks great, tomorrow morning i’m going to go buy some new yarn to make this! i have made a unicorn that was in a similar pose to this so im hoping i can do it!
Valerie, I’m giving these two Unicorn Horses to my baby granddaughter’s one is 13 months old and the other is 19 months old so I was wondering if you could scotch guard these horses to protect them from stains. Do you just spit clean them if they get dirty or what’s your advice for care of these beautiful creations? Thanks Valerie for your help. Tammy
You did great tutorial! 😁 I will start mine later this evening. Just to make sure I wanted to ask, I’m not making the stick part just the Horsehead as a pillow so I don’t need to skip two and add the T joint correct?😁 thank you 😁
Thanks Setta! You are right, you won't need to skip the stitches, or put in the "T" :) What a fun idea! I never would have thought about making just a pillow!
Valerie, can you please tell me the colors of the teal horse you used ? I love these unicorn horses they are so cute, I’m making both my granddaughter’s one for Christmas this year. Thank you for your help, I hope you and your family have a Merry Christmas. Tammy
I have lots of white wool and I love this project, I’d love to make one for my daughter. The trouble is I am a fairly novice crochet lover and I’m not sure what to do when the wool is not the right size. I think if I followed your plan with my wool row for row it would be a lot smaller. How can I add in stitches to your design to get the same outcome? or is it better to double up my wool for this project?
Hi Natalie! I'd double the wool, rather than try and add stitches. If you have size 4 wool, you'll want to use three strands to make it the same thickness as a size 6 wool. I hope that helps!
Hi Debbie! That's a good question. The short answer is, yes, they are the right sizes. The long answer is, a 1/2 PVC T has to be big enough to fit a 1/2 pipe in it, but the pipe is measured from the diameter of the inside of the pipe, not the outside. So the outside of the pipe is slightly bigger than 3/4" which means the inside of the "T" has to be a little bigger than 3/4" as well. This gives us room to fit in the dowel and the hot glue. I hope that helps!
Hi! The reins are mostly for decoration. You hold onto them when riding, and it will stop it from falling, but I usually ride with one hand holding the stick and the other on the reins :D
Hi, I'm so excited can't wait to make this but is there a pattern or do we just crochet along to the videos? I was on your website yesterday and bought several patterns and didn't see this pattern. Also, will you be doing a video sew aling on the Alpaca and Baby Sheep and Lovey, I just love these and was going to make these for my new granddaughter that will be here in June but baby shower is in April and these would make great gifts. I am more of a visual learner, I can crochet really well but sometimes don't understand patterns. Thanks so much for your help and thank you for these videos, love everyone of them.

Hi! Would that be for the head and the body? If so, 2 strands of worsted weight is not enough, I would go with a minimum of three strands, maybe even 4.
Valerie, on row 16 where you single crochet through the loops you made for the "T" in row 15, you only crochet through those few loops you made for the "T" and not every loop in that row, correct? Thank you

Would it be possible to put dowel handles on the sides
I was confused on row 12. I kept getting 36 stitches on row 11 but then after I id all 40 stitches for row 12 I still had 2 extra chains.
Another way to read row 12 would be: sc 4, (inc, sc 8) x 3, inc, sc 4 (30) Let me know if that helps at all!
@@oldsoulcrochetco.7887 Thank you! This helped me a lot
What kind of decrease are you using on this pattern?
