ABOUT THE VOICE
The four-time Emmy Award-winning musical competition series "The Voice" returns as Queen of Country Reba McEntire claims her red chair alongside last season's champ, Niall Horan, and returning superstar coaches John Legend and Gwen Stefani as they vie to discover and coach the next singing phenomenon.
The show's innovative format features five stages of competition: Blind Auditions, Battle Rounds, Knockouts, Playoffs and Live Performance Shows.
This season, the block returns to the Blind Auditions, and during Battles, each coach will have two steals to use. The Three-Way Knockouts are also back. This time, however, artists will select their own songs to perform.
Once the Live Performance Shows begin, the top artists will compete against each other weekly during a live broadcast. This time, the television audience will vote to save their favorite artists. In the end, one artist will be named "The Voice" and receive the grand prize of a recording contract.

I’ve been waiting for this one. I knew she would crush a Janis Joplin performance! Mara is an absolute star and deserves to win.
She's had that Joplin sound and look from the get go. Was glad to finally see it!

glad she didnt win so she could actually have a good chance and not get stuck in a contract with the voice she isnt able to do much with. Its the ones who dont win who make it outside of the voice. Melanie Martinez didn't win the title and shes the only one i can really think of who made it from the voice. At least on similar shows like on Idol the winner actually gets a better deal and a better chance to make their singing career
That break in her voice and the joy she exhibits after every performance is spellbinding!

I've been hoping she would choose this Janis Joplin song for a while and yes she finally got it! Perfect song choice and she did not disappoint. She delivered her best performance of the season. Flawless!
If you've been a fan of hers you should know she released her solo home recorded version of this 3 years ago when she turned 18.
I love Janis’s cover of this song, but I like the original too. They both bring great styles to the table. Yay Mara☺️.

She has been at this since a kid. Three singing shows and so close to a win at every one. This girl has worked to win. She didn't just show up to win. Her entire life has been this and working hard to improve her talents. Vote for her to win!
Mara should of won. She was born for the stage and she's been fighting for this! She should be one of the biggest stars in the world! Undeniable Talent and work ethic!
It’s often better for the people who did great but didn’t win and then get locked into the terrible contracts they give them. Hopefully Mara will get signed elsewhere and end up in a situation where she has some autonomy and creative control! She’s amazing

I am glad she didn't! and why is because most the time they win the title but they get stuck in a contract that they cant do a whole lot with and with the exception of melanie martinez who did not win the voice most the others from the voice didnt ever get that chance to make it outside of the voice I LOVE Mara and she does deserve to make it! but i try to see it as a win that she didnt win and if she works hard enough she can get a good record deal some place else

Janis was not half the singer Mara is. Janis is an icon because she was a pioneer and broke down the doors for female rockers and had tonnes of heart and soul. In terms of technique, chops and PITCH Mara is way above her. Mara should set her ambitions higher than where Janis was.....that standard is set by Beth Hart.
This performance was the icing on the cake for Mara (and for the whole season of The Voice). Congratulations, Mara... You deserve the win that will be coming your way tomorrow night! #badass

How can you not vote for this young woman? She just sang Adele and Janis Joplin and did both extremely well. Who else has that kind of range and talent to do that. She did say that she wanted to show a soft side and maybe a rock side and she did just that! She's amazing and the only one I would love to see live in concert! She deserves to win but if not, I wish her the best and can't wait to hear more! She's only 21 and is easily the one with the most upside . She may be the one who comes out of the voice and makes it big.

Beth Hart on Star Search back in 1993. One of her original songs she sang on that show is called Am I The One and it's still sung by TV singing contestants around the world. Her last project was a Led Zeppelin covers album and she was once nominated for a Grammy for another covers album.
She even sang Piece of My Heart on that show.

Voice seemed tired and worn out as she had to force. Personally do not like female Mick Jagger's, using those unattractive body movements. Well, I never liked Mick either - not my thing. I liked Mara's other finale performance.

Electrifying indeed. She's got grit, soul. She's got the low tones, and she can sing high, and clear. She's got stage presence for days! She's high energy when the song demands it. And She Sings With Feeling! You can't fake the funk people. She's got 🔥Good things come in small packages and...🎤Mara is mighty. I would have urged her to do my favorite Janis tune "Half Moon" because it fits her dynamism. She is THE MOST Compelling Performer with the most potential IMO...and she will only get better with age.

She gave the best performances l. Every single time she moves me. It's not just that she has an incredible voice and stage presence but she also has the capacity to deeply move her audience. I'm sorry but none of the others can do that. Ruby and Huntley of course are talented but being a good singer on the world stage also has to be about if you connect to the emotions and convey that to the audience. Mara does that every single time!!!
