And then take on an entire star destroyer full of angry clones by herself. She earned a Knighthood by combat…. But Anakin was denied the rank of master because the council accused her of murder and expelled her from the order, leaving him to have to train another apprentice all the way to Knighthood and then hope that Mace would finally relent and grant him the rank He should’ve had a decade earlier….
Obi-Wan was already a master by the time of attack of the clones …. Before Anakin had taken the trials and become a knight.
In many ways, Obi-Wan Kenobi was a model Jedi, almost the poster child for the order’s passive, polite, diplomatic approach to everything…. Anakin was almost the polar opposite, and the public loved him for it.
The council rewarded Obi-Wan for being the kind of Jedi that they wanted, and constantly shit all over Ann again for not meeting their expectations of who the chosen one should be. It didn’t matter how powerful he was or that he met all of the requirements they weren’t going to make him a master until he bent the knee and basically became Obi-Wan Kenobi.
So ya… he probably wasn’t in the proper state of mind when the youngling called him master Skywalker, and he might have vented a little bit
@@Matt-yg8ubhe actually killed those kids because, as Sidious implied earlier, right after Anakin *became* Darth Vader, killing them all (child or not) would increase his dark side power. Basically, if you want to gain power as a bad guy, you have to do evil deeds. Anakin wanted to use the force to save his wife from dying in childbirth but he could only gain dark side power to do it. And if that was what it took to save his family, then so be it.

Those students who bullied and called Anakin a slave really took it too far. Lesson on that situation, never call Anakin the slave word because that word reminds him too much of his rough childhood and there will be consequences for dissing off a student like that. It's karma.

@@elmermedina1713 Obi Wan didn't understand this type of bullying because he has not experienced what Anakin had to go through, and of course being too much of a teacher's pet to understand like Qui Gon would have. Obi Wan could have understood the situation better if he only listened to the will of the Force like Qui Gon did instead of being the Council's pet lap dog, but it was too late for the Order, their own karma by making Anakin an outsider with their own codes will bite them in the butt hard with Order 66 later.
Ironically, Anakin did bring balance to the force. He destroyed the jedi and the sith lol. Leaving Luke as the only jedi left who was grey and definetely stayed neutral with the force without becoming evil.

Both Jedi and Sith had become unbalanced and corrupted so they both had to go into destruction at Anakins hands, although it did come at a price, nobody but Qui Gon knew the full prophecy and Anakin being the very key to balancing out both sides and then Luke being the grey Jedi on both sides, maintaining balance. Anakin was right about the majority of the Order being corrupted by their own dogmatic ways and their tendency to be the senate's lapdogs instead of being in tune with the Force itself. That's why Anakin being both Jedi and Sith had to happen this way in order to be the Chosen One to bring balance to the Force by cleaning out both sides that way. The Jedi's fear of Anakin and dogmatic ways sealed their demolition at his hands.
@@devonhinckley2889 Yup. It's a pretty nasty eay to bring balance; but, there's no other way it could've been changed. Qui Gon was choosen to be on the Jedi Counsel but declined because he know of the corruption. They didn't like his input because he wasn't sticking the indoctrinating way of the Jedi. Obi-Wan almost feel into it but Qui-Gon and Anakin required him to balance himself.
The problem was that Qui-Gon agreed to train Anakin because it was under his way of the force, which differed from the Jedi. Anakin knew if the corruption and, unfortunately, he conpletely went 180. If the Jedi Counsel had just accepted Anakin, it would've changed the future even drastically. Akakin still held on to Qui-Gon's teachings, as short ad their time together was. Sidius knew he was dangerous so he talked no jutsu'd Anakin into moving to the side. With the method of love, ironically.
Either way. The force wasn't having it and went old testament on both sides. He was still good to his men. The ones he got violent with were the generals and if they teied anything, he'd just kill them. Everyone knew not to piss off Darth Vader.
I do wish they'd redo the lightsaber fights in the original trilogy...
After the 3rs movie, there's a part where the end where Yoda talks about Qui-Gon joining the force and needed to talk to Obi-Wan. Obi-Wan goes to Tattoinne (probably spelled that wrong) and goes to the middle of the desert. He starts a fire and Qui-Gon appears in his ghost form and talks with Obi-Wan about everything. That it was sad and tragic but he mostly apologizes to Obi-Wan for throwing Anakin in his hands when he wasn't even a master yet. That it was an insane request to have given Obi-Wan so suddenly and that it's not his fault that his trainee went dark. Obi-Wan did train Anakin well. But he wasn't experienced enough to see that Anakin was going through some very tough trials. Qui-Gon would've been the person that Anakin could fully trust. That's the big part of their conversation. And he ended up stayed there to keep an eye on Luke.
I still wonder about Yoda capturing the lightning. That's only possible if you can manupulate the force in that same way; which is the dark side. So Yoda had to have trained with the dark side to a level equal or above Sidius. Yoda knows an incredible amount about the dark side. Being 900ish years old. Who knows what he had experienced

I wouldn’t call him a bad master, but everyone in the order was to a degree problematic. Obi wan was following what he thought was best and what he did. It unfortunately wasn’t the best course of action but I would say in general Obi wan did his best and was a good teacher. There’s a reason Anakin was him as his brother
Honestly, palpatine is a great manipulator, but it was made so much easier for him to turn Anakin because of the way he was treated. His turn can’t be boiled down to just Mace Windu, obi wan, or yoda. The entire order, except qui gon and maybe Ashoka are responsible for his downfall in my opinion.

I hated this scene because those two student were never punished. On the contrary, making Anakin appologise makes them feel safe about this. What kind of jedi they will become if they think someone being a slave is something to make fun of?
The comic explains a bit, that they didn't like him, because he joined later and breezed through his tests while they worked really hard for years. But that does not excuse this behavior. That there was not ONE master who overheard this and thought this must be corrected is really alarming too.

Anakin actually asked a wiser question than any of the masters in that room.
It’s indicative of the environment he was raised in. From day one Anakin was an outsider and he was never really accepted by the Jedi who merely tolerate his presence because he’s the prophesied chosen one. Name a friend that Anakin has in the temple, name an associate, a colleague, a fellow knight he plays darts with …anyone other than Obi-Wan and the masters of the council that he has any relationship with at all…… Palpatine and Padme, that’s it. Anakin doesn’t have Jedi friends. He sought all of his friends outside the order because he’s not one of them. Obi-Wan is the singular exception to all of it because as his master Obi-Wan was required to spend time with Anakin and I think of any of the Jedi, he was the least opposed to Anakin, at the beginning because Qui Gon wanted him trained.
Imagine what it was like for Anakin, growing up in the temple with no friends, knowing that your master only took you on as an apprentice out of his sense of obligation for his dead master.

It’s pretty telling that this was the sort of environment he was raised in. It’s clear that Anakin was seen as an outsider and expected to apologize for standing up for himself. No wonder he’s not a big fan of the organization! I had a similar experience in my youth as a firefighter. I never fit in with the crowd because I come from a law-enforcement background and they saw me as an outsider. I respect the profession, but I’m not a fan of the people I worked with because the specific people I worked with, were a bunch of d-bags and overgrown frat boys who spent more time pranking and bullying me than they did training or actually doing the job they praised themselves so highly for being a part of.

I love how realistic this is to actual school life. For kids, the bullies can get away with an awful lot, even if you supposedly tell the teachers. However if the student reacts to the bullying, they're actually punished for the behavior. This creates a festering layer of hatred and resentment that will eventually boil over and cause the bullied child to lash out. Pretty much the same story no matter when you go. People in power, don't know or forget how to deal with actual situations such as these.

I think that’s part of the problem here, every time Anakin acts like a regular normal human being with regular normal human emotions people screamed DARK SIDE! at the top of their lungs, and then chastised Anakin for the slightest hint of humanity.
Those two little shits committed what is commonly referred to in our day and age as a hate crime, taunting a human trafficking survivor, and calling him a slave. In our modern world, we would punish such behavior, but apparently that’s not how the Jedi roll. they’re so concerned about pummeling every ounce of humanity out of Anakin, that they totally ignore the fact that those two started it and that Anakin’s response to this targeted harassment was Luke warm at best. Instead of punishing the bullies, they subject Anakin to public humiliation by making him publicly apologized to the perpetrators.
