  • I had to repair a Double Tree before it wore out completely. This is what happened.

My question is, why don't you take detailed measurements and make a couple out leftover scraps, for when someone wants or needs to buy one? I would if I was in that area!

They usually buy them from other Amish. I’ve built a few at the Amish metal shop. I also suck at selling things so I focus my efforts elsewhere.

I see you have a Fronius Transsteel mig - how are you liking it?

It’s freaking awesome. It’s been going strong since 2020. It uses less consumables than my Lincoln 210mp. I just now got to the point where I think it needs a new liner in the mig gun. In Manual mode You can turn it up to the point where it enters spray transfer while running .035 solid wire on 75/25 gas and hooked up to a 110v 20 amp breaker. It doesn’t sputter as bad on the starts either. I also use it to run 7018 and Hobart hard alloy 140s on occasion. It runs both really well. Even the 5/32s. I ran the tig torch at 218 amps for awhile one day and the weak point there was I couldn’t grasp the torch any more. The machine itself never went into the overheating mode.

I have a question on how you got your stick mate to run on a generator

      I plugged it in

There’s a 10/3 wire we hooked up to the fancy welder style outlet and ran 3 of the wires to a nema 14-30 plug. There’s 2 hots and 2 neutrals I believe or 2 hots a neutral and a ground. One of the neutrals or the ground on the plug end isn’t connected to anything. My dad knows more about electrical than I do. He hooked it up the first time now I just remember what goes where if I have to take it apart or set up a new one.

@@scrapmanindustries appreciate it I got a free stick mate lx235 and I have this generac generator it has 7500 running watts so I figured it’d be enough power but with this Amazon adaptor I got it’s sparking but won’t hold an arc

@@damonperea4968 do you have your hot wires hooked up correctly? If that’s all good clean your metal, make sure your welding ground is hooked up and making good contact. If that’s not the issue try new electrodes. If all that is good make sure the generator is pushing out the right amount of volts. Each leg of the 220 v circuit should be pushing out half of that. Do more research like I said I’m no electrician but I believe each hot leg should be pushing 110-115 volts. I had my generator drop voltage over time and the welder wasn’t arcing. Did some trouble shooting, tuned the generator back to the correct voltage and it worked fine.

I also try really hard not to support Amazon. A lot of what the sell anymore is garbage right out of the box. I’m not saying your adapter is bad but if it is serviceable make sure it’s hooked up correctly.
