- Well we just can`t get away from the cosy feelings of Autumn and something that is very much of the season for us is the beautiful acorn. So we decided to try our hand at crafting with these glorious shiny seeds! Come with us for a calming make-along!
f you would like to see us finding some of the things we use pop over to our other channel "Mudlarking With Kit + Caboodlers" - / @mudlarkingwithkitcabo...
Acorns were a mainstay food source for Native American tribes in California. There should be a lot of history of it on the internet. It take an enormous amount of effort to become edible. The trees were owned by particular family groups and inherited down the generations.
I remember learning how to make Native American acorn much in 4th grade. Um - very bitter, but amazing.
Yes! For anyone interested in the subject, I cannot recommend highly enough the book Tending the Wild: Native American Knowledge and the Management of California’s Natural Resources by M Kat Anderson. Covers indigenous use of oak trees and other plants over a span of at least 10,000 years.

I love the tea party set up with your frog and pumpkin lady, starting at 25:34. It looks like it belongs in a children's storybook! It's adorable!
You are good for the soul. Thank you. Much love
This is the most relaxing, wonderful video that I’ve seen in a long time. Thank you.
Yes, we had the Weebles (spelling?) In America. I didn't know you had them there. I was saying the "Weebles wobble, but they don't fall down" along with you. Hahaha.
Well done! 😊
Oh this this Acorn Tea set is incredible, you ladies are incredible and I love what you are doing. As always you made my day…thanks a lot for this🙏🙋🏼♀️waiting for the next update

Another beautiful creation. Thank you for sharing so we can enjoy it too.❤😊
I am in awe of your creativity! The tea set is darling!
Yes, Weebles were in America. My girls, had them as children. Loved them.
My daughters had them too! Fun memories.
Some pressed leaves and flower petals could be used as doilies.
Yet another totally amazing video. There is no end of your immagination what you can do. You are so talented!
You could also pick one of the small not fullt ripened acorns on a stem, as in the beginning of the video..that will make a smokingpipe for froggy. Greetings from Sweden🇸🇪
Such a cute idea 💡
What a joy that tea set is ❤
I absolutely love the tea set! When you said that you were going to paint the tea kettle, I thought you were going to paint the whole body a solid color, and I was thinking, "No"! I was so glad to see that you meant to paint only a little decoration on it. I think it has such a beautiful natural color.
I remember doing this by myself during recess in primaryschool. We had a lovely giant oak tree on the schoolgrounds. I would collect the nicest acorns and assemble them into little dishes and teapots in class. I got into trouble for it and was made fun of though. I was the youngest in the class because I was put up two classes. So the "older" kids already had me on their radar as weird. I couldn't stop though. I built a little fairy house and hid it there too. It was smashed to bits. It still gives me a hollow feeling. But I sure loved that beautiful oak tree❤
Your creativity went unnoticed, so disappointing for a small gal. Teachers see more today and celebrate students like you.
Yes, we have the weebles that wobble and don't fall down here in America
Your Acorn tea set is so very Cute❤it tugs at my heart, might be a fairy 🧚♀️ or two around helping Thanks much 🙋♀️🌻🐸
Acorns are simply beautiful. They make my soul happy.🍂🍁
I love the tea set so much, it is beautiful and amazing 💕
Your tea set is cute. Now you need a tray to set it on. Make it out of a peace of log by cutting it thin
Wow ladys thats so cool looking x
The tea set is awesome, you are both very artistic ladies.
Adorable acorn tea set, you surpass yourselves with each new make. I am one of the lucky Floridians, I just got a LOT of rain and a yard full of broken limbs. My heart also hurts for all affected by Helene and/or Milton. They were both devastating storms.
This is so stinking cute, I can't even handle it!
So creative and I love your scarf.
So happy you uploaded this
Malen. Maf? Was beautiful, green 😊🪲
Adorable!❤
I am madly in love with the acorn tea set! I love acorns! Ours in Texas are just starting to fall! I have always wanted to do acorn crafts. You two are such creative team! Can’t wait to see what is next! I look up bugs and little critters for my grandkids a lot. They are always telling their mom to take a picture of it and send it to Kitty (my grandma name) so she can find out what it is! ❤ Thank you both for sharing your joy with us!
I really like your creativity. Look at those tiny mushrooms! What beautiful colors on the moth. GOD is outstandingly marvelous.
Just charming
Just a sweet and lovely idea💕💕💕 love your creativity it speaks to my inner child 💕💕💕So well done ladies🍂🍂🍁🍁🍁
Perfect!
Gorgeous
I loved my Weebles!
What a talent you have😊 beautiful ❤️
In the US there are lots of different types of oaks: pin, white, Northern red, Southern red, bur, blue, and more and more. There have been two hurricanes that have wreaked havoc: Helene hit Florida and then traveled to North Carolina hitting Louisiana, Georgia, Tennesee, and then North Carolina. NC was hit terribly hard- then Milton hit Florida. Horrible
One was a white oak, and the other a red oak.
Just love Kermit & Co. Wonderful acorn Tea set x
acorns such wonders. Delightful tea set, ingenuity wins again. You all never cease to amaze me.
My favourite craft so far!!! I make acorn cup bowls but never thought of using the acorns. Well, can't really, we have a flourishing squirrel population in our Central Park. Absolutely loved the moth!
Those are so adorable.. I just love them 💗 you 2 are very talented 🥰
Oh yes, the USA has/had Webles
🎉that is totally stunning well done ladies 🎉😊
The two of you have the most creative imagination. I mean professional abilities! A dream day would be shadowing you both. Love, love your channels! Thank you for the videos as it is often the only bright part of my day. ❤ I believe nothing is better than the sweet giggles of a wholesome mother and daughter. 😊

When you two laugh together it makes me smile. Donna northern Michigan
Absolutely loved this project, you ladies are creative GENIUSES! Thank you so much for sharing your delightful videos 🕊️💖😊
Ladies the acorn tea set turned so adorable. ❤❤❤
Living in the midst of a dense woods, I’m fortunate to have made several such acorn tea sets and over the years, they found their way to little ones as “gifts from the forest fairies!” I love using the acorn caps as sweet hats for little dolls as well.
Your videos are all so lovely, peaceful, charming and inspiring! Thank you! ❤ Kathleen, USA
🥰Thank you both for bringing calm and beauty to my life. ❤💯 The acorns and the ways you carved and sanded, painted then varnished are beautiful.🌱
Adorable! Frog is dashing! Great job ❤
Thank you for the thoughts for Florida and all the other places affected by the Hurricanes in the USA. You guys rock. Loved this project!
Oh I love it so much!! The whole tea set is just so beautiful and adorable and amazing all at the same time. 😍
Thanks again for your concern and comments about Florida. It’s greatly appreciated. I was able to get gas (petrol) today, so that was a happy thing. The local grocery stores have run out of bread, milk, and eggs but they do have plenty of water. I was able to find what I needed at another grocery store farther inland. My daughter lives in Sarasota and she’s still without electricity or running water. It’s going to take quite awhile for us to have availability to the basics I think. Thank you for your videos, they always bring such joy. 😊😘
This was just gorgeous! I'm so intrigued for next week's film. I would just call that moth at the end an oak moth. Another of your films to watch over and over again, just like the room in a tree hole.
I Love this. I had made you an acorn basket, but had no address to send it. I am in Oklahoma, and just gathered more acorns for crafting. I Love them so!❤😂🎉 I continue to be entertained by you ladies and your family as I now watch you on YOU TUBE here in the States. I kept telling my husband I wanted to watch you on TV. POOF! MY dream has come true. Thanks
Beautiful. Could be awesome as Christmas tree ornaments. 💕
The tea set is charming. I can’t wait for next week’s video. Love your scarf!
Acorns make excellent ink!!! (and dye fabric a beautiful color)
That tea set is adorable and you fashioned the jug, sugar bowl and tea caddy so beautifully. Am looking forward to (& intrigued by) the next project 👍🥰
Sooo cute! Are you going to put them in the borrowers house?
fit for the mouse queen , adorable ! I wish we had acorns where i lived
Great design and craft work Kate with those beautiful acorns. Love your idea to use the wood filings as a dye for the tablecloth, inspired. Nice artwork on the tea set Fleur
It’s beautiful 🥰 thank you for sharing ❤

My grandson and i picked 2 bags for the squirrel in our yard..they love them
Outstanding craftsmanship 👏👏
This is such a beautiful video. Thank you very much.🍁🍂🎃
I’m in Connecticut,US and we have had acornmaggedon his year. I wish I was as talented as you two so I could make a tea set. Love the painted embellishment. Can’t wait to see what you do next week. Loved seeing last weeks frog enjoying a nice cup of tea. Thank you for your wonderful content on both channels. I am a huge fan.
I was wondering if you have heard of Becorns? They are characters made by an artist who showcases a beautiful connection to nature. I Believe you'd both enjoy the adorable adventures he has them embark upon.
Very cute tea set.❤
Oh ladies this is the sweetest thing ever, it’s beautiful, tfs x Julie
Omg that's so incredibly awesome
Inspired
Yes, we have Weebles in America! Loved the video !
I love your creativity. Yes we had weables many years ago. Love and prayers from Austin Texas USA
That’s a beautiful tea set, can’t wait to see it in place. Take care and prayers to Florida 🙏🙏🙏❤️
So cute and charming.
Absolutely adorable!
Burr oak acorns have lots of bristles. Red oak and white oak are different lengths. Great idea and lots of fun to watch and admire the results. The acorn that didn't grow would make a lovely pot lid.
How absolutely adorable..❤ I will see acorns in a different way now, i will pick some up we have big oak trees close by...❤❤❤ look forward to next week..
Such a precious tea set! How fun❤
Thank you so much for this! eally enjoyed how the acorn tea set came out!
We have weebles in America.,acorns also great for wreath, mouse house and so on.I did things with natural stuff when i was young ,and I missed it.Great Job Girls.
Wish I could come to your place and craft with you two, It's so chilled ..
We have over 90 oak varieties in the US that account for all the different types of acorns. In the UK, there are 4 native varieties, so you'll see all the different acorns too. You can identify the oaks by the acorns! Love your tea set!
lovely really beautiful. I have always had a thing about oaks and acorns
My sisters and I made tea sets like that when we were kids! We’d make the bottoms flat, modify the surfaces of some things, etc. by rubbing them on the sidewalk. A coarser bit of sidewalk (or sandpaper) makes sanding go faster, so saucers and plates don’t take long to make flat, nor bowl and cup bottoms. 🙂
We had both red oaks and white oaks in our yard, so we had two kinds of acorns too.
If you sand the outside of the cap, you get yet another texture, like suede. You can burnish the caps as well, to get something like snakeskin. 🙂
Yes, we had weebles. 😁
I was so excited to see the acorn have its own show. I live in Colorado which is right smack in the middle of the USA. Acorns have been every place I’ve lived. My sister and brother have both made acorn flour which makes the best muffins EVER.. You just have to get rid of the tannin first. It’s a bit of a long process but they are nutty delish!
What dreamy mushrooms.
These are so Adorable🤗💕💕💕💕
A little tip for getting the extra dust off the sandpaper, if you want to keep it... I use a brush. I have one I use specifically for such a thing, but I'd imagine any small brush will do. Mine is rather coarse, originally a brush used for inking, but I think a paintbrush or something would work just fine for dusting it into a pot or something.
❤lovely teaset ,so creative ❤️
