Her career is on a launch pad currently with Republic Records and they are building her foundation and are providing her so much resource. There are some great videos from her performances in Norway last summer recorded on mobile phones which showcase her raw talent. Her own song Million Miles sung at Kongsberg show cases her emotional connection with the lyrics. I’m sure you would love it. Like Amira, Angelina too supports much charitable work. AJ’s Christmas Show that live-streamed on Dec 23 of 21 had some of the most important musicians of our time: Frank Sinatra's drummer for 6 years, and sun in-law of the late Henry Mancini, Greg Field has won 9 Grammys, and the bass player, Chuck Berghofer who also played for Sinatra for 6 years, and toured with Streisand, accompanied AJ on her Christmas Show, and they stated that she had the "storytelling ability of the greats, Streisand, Fitzgerald, Vaughan, including Sinatra, to name a few. The main pianist, a five-time nominated for Grammys, Shelly Berg, stated in all his years working with the greatest vocalist, he had never encountered a talent like AJ. Did I forget to mention Jimmy Z, the famous Sax Player who worked with Rod Steward, Etta James, the Eurythmics, and Doctor Dre, was part of the band for the show? Jimmy stated that AJ was the best he has ever played for. Rob Christie Republic Records Studio Director at Universal Music Group Manhattan Beach, California played the guitar, and was the MC of the show. Rob has been working with AJ from the very 1st day Republic signed her at age 14. (I can't list the complete backgrounds on all the band members because it would take several pages to do them justice.) Angelina stated that she would rather perform than take a breath, and she has never been forced to perform, it has been her decision. Angelina Jordan is top priority for both Stargate Production Co. (Beyonce, Rihanna, Sam Smith), and the largest record company in the world, Republic. AJ's first album for Republic is supposed to drop sometime this year.

Hello Robert - I always try not to listen before making a Reaction/ Analysis video. I do some background reading and then I orientate myself with the key of the song, which really helps my analysis . I’ve a fairly good sense of pitch but with a new singer it can be thrown a little. Angelina’s range is like a low mezzo soprano. She sings low E flat to mid E flat, a range of two octaves. Amazing for her age. I adore her innate musicality. It gives me lots of faith!!!

Congratulations! You just discovered the best Vocal Artist on the Planet! IMO This opinion is quickly being reinforced as her career is finally starting to I believe explode. I'm surprised there are still many who know nothing about her but again I think that is going to change. If you want to hear music listen to anyone. If you want to feel it listen to Angelina. Her timbre definitely tells me she is going to be more of an alto as she gets older. As it is, she sounds like a thicker mezzo with access to lower notes. Her tone and timbre is so unique and beautiful. No matter how many times I hear her voice, I am always shocked. I am not to your level, but have taught voice for over 20 years and I am a bass vocalist, and cannot think of one single person I have heard sound this good at this age; her ability to dance around a pitch without full resolution is something many of the jazz greats took their whole lives to perfect... she was born with it, I believe.

Angelina won Norway's Got Talent when she was 8 yrs old after starting the competition at 7 yrs old. The youngest winner of any Got Talent show on the planet. She had to wait two years because you had to be 7 yrs old to enter. She started with a rendition of Billie Holiday's 'Gloomy Sunday' which she just infused with Billie's soul. She followed this by another Billie classic with a pitch perfect rendition of 'I'm a Fool to Want You' acapella. Her next performance was a beautiful rendition of 'Bang, Bang' by Sony & Cher and performed most famously by Nancy Sinatra. She won the competition with what I consider her first Masterpiece performance of 'Summertime' by George Gershwin. She started studying all the greats of Jazz soon after under the guidance of her Iranian Grandmother Mery Zamani a child prodigy in her own right as an artist and poet. English is Angelina's 3rs language behind Norwegian and Farsi along with japanese and some German and perhaps more. She did this from 2 & 3 yrs old by scrolling thru RUclips of all their most Iconic performance. Angelina doesn't just mimic these greats, she reinterprets them and then simply sings them the way they were meant to be sung. She makes them her own.
Angelina was begging her mother to go on "that Simon show" when she was 3 yrs old. encouraged to sing children songs, she would have none of that. Angelina chooses her own songs and she is absolutely fearless. No song is too big and no artist is too Iconic. All the most Iconic songs by the most Iconic singers in music history. She will sing anything Acapella at any time and often does. Her Tic-Toc is full of these impromptu performances wherever she might be whether in the car, walking around the neighborhood or in a parking Garage. Accompanied by most often a simple guitar or piano her performances are always incredible. Add a band or even a full orchestra as in her performance for Quincy Jones at his request singing his arrangement of 'Fly Me to the Moon'. The same arrangement he did for Frank Sinatra. This opened for his 85th birthday celebration at the 02 Arena in London.
Since winning NGT she has sung for celebrities and heads of state and some of the biggest venues all over the world. The industry is well aware of Angelina's immense talent and her family were inundated by offers from the biggest promoters in the world. All turned down by Angelina and her family. They have protected her while she finishes school. Angelina finally signed with Republic Records a couple of years ago and has since released her 1st two original performances with 'Million Miles' and '7th Heaven' released at 14 & 15 respectively. The family waited till she had contractual control of her Artistic Vision. Republic has labeled her their Highest Priority and assigned a team to her including Rob Christy a multiple Grammy Winner, often on the piano in many of her performances and a whole team of equally qualified professionals. She has worked with some of the best musicians in the industry and always get exactly what she wants. They call her the Boss and have immense respect for her.
I don't know if you will dive deep into this girl or not but you will be missing out on one of the most Iconic rises to stardom since Elvis or Michael Jackson both of whom she has covered many times. If you do I will follow to experience it with you.

What a lucky day for you. You’ve discovered one of the best singers you will ever hear-and, yes, I know you’re a voice teacher. What you heard today is amazing, but Angelina sings incredibly beautifully across many genres. Her voice is frequently mesmerizing, as you saw here. As you noted, she’s got you and the audience in her hand at the first couple notes. You’ll get so many suggestions for your next song. It doesn’t matter what genre, what age, what style. Watch her at 7 or now at 16. Just start listening. I’m in my 70’s, have followed music all my life. Angelina is easily, easily the best singer I’ve ever heard. What a wonderful first time reaction to our Angel, Angelina, so so enjoyable. Love listening to knowledgeable people as yourself trying to figure out how this young lady does what she does. One of the more simpler explanations, and you shall soon realize, Angelina is a music genius and quite brilliant in what she does. She has been given a generational talent to share with all of mere humans. You will see a whole lot of information and suggestions in the comments for sure. People who are new to her are always in awe that she's only 13 here. Little they know she has a 5 years of solid professional singing under her belt prior to this that date back when she won Norway's Got Talent at the age of 8. But the thing is....at any age this performance is beyond amazing. Not even mainstream artists of today could duplicate what she does here with the iconic Bohemian Rhapsody.
Great reaction. Angelina is now 16, and she is clearly one of the great singers in the world today. Watch a few more videos and I am sure you will agree. And you will be astounded again and again because she sings in many other styles and even voices, and is the master of every one. You've never seen anything like it.
Also, you might wonder why Angelina is not a big star, given her remarkable ability. The reason is that she and her family have purposely held back her career since her tv debut at age 7, in part so she could have a reasonably normal childhood. However, in 2020 she signed a contract with Republic Records, and is currently working on an album with them.

Very good reaction! This was her own arrangement and she arranges all of the songs she sings. Amy Winehouse is one of her influences, however, her first and major influence in music is actually Billie Holiday. Dinah Washington, Etta James, Frank Sinatra, Whitney Houston, and Adele are other influences she has mentioned as well. This rendition is so associated with her, that Queen gave her the copyrights to this version of this song. Currently 16 years old, living in L.A., signed with Republic Records, and working on a new album of new music that will be released next year, 2023 is expected to be a big year for her!

You have fallen into the vortex of Angelina Jordan who arguably brings the most confident, versatile, seemingly effortless, and fearless vocal artistry found today (whether measured across artists, genres, or decades). You may think this an exaggeration but listen to a few more of her many performances (150+ covers plus original songs - all on YT) and you will see! She has been performing at a high level all over the world since age 8 when she won Norway's Got Talent singing Billie Holiday, Nancy Sinatra, and Gershwin. It is the rare singer that can, as Angelina has done, go from Queen to "Screamin" Jay Hawkins to Adele to Elvis to Whitney Houston to Michael Jackson to Etta James to James Brown to Amy Winehouse to the Beatles (and many others in between) and do them all justice! Angelina works extremely hard at honing the obvious gifts she has been given.
If you want to hear music, listen to anyone. If you want to feel music, listen to Angelina. She will stagger you with her ability to find and bring forth the 'essence', the emotional message of nearly any song. She is a storyteller par excellence. You have far to go with Angelina. Where does she get her ability and knowledge? A little came from her grandmother and I sure she had some other coaches. However, the majority came from a higher up not from this earth, heavenly deity, many call God. This is the gift he gave her.

13 year old Angelina Jordan, in her 7th year as a on-stage performer, creates a genius arrangement then delivers a vocal performance for the ages. Please the read the bio I compiled for her.
Born Angelina Jordan Astar on January 10, 2006 in Oslo, Norway to her Norwegian mother, Sara Astar and her Swedish father, Gerry Christian Slattman.
Angelina started singing around 18 months of age, after listening to Whitney Houston on RUclips. She quickly became obsessed with listening to music videos and her maternal grandmother, Mery Zamani got Angelina interested in classic jazz. Mery Zamani is Iranian and was a prodigy as an artist and poet while growing up in Iran.
Angelina attended the Oslo Waldorf School and participated in the Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program, where starting around age 4, she had training in music but no vocal training. Her teachers were smart enough to not attempt to change what she was doing vocally. More recently she along with her grandmother have designed and made the clothing she wears on stage.
*Why Angelina always performs barefoot*
At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road, asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl who thanks Angelina for giving her the shoes.
Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” Angelina told the girl to never give up on her dreams. The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true.
Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate. At age 9, she became the youngest published author in Norway’s history by writing a book about this encounter in the Middle East.
Angelina, at age 6 and 7, did record a few songs in a recording studio at her school, most notably “I Who Have Nothing”, a truly remarkable performance for a 7 year old.
At age 7, Angelina’s audition on Norway’s Got Talent, was a cover of Billie Holiday’s “Gloomy Sunday”, a song which was banned by a number of European countries during World War II because authorities worried the song would increase the suicide rate. Truly bizarre that this is the song to launch the career of a child musical prodigy. One of the judges on NGT cried.
Angelina had turned 8 years old for her next performance on NGT, covering Billie Holiday’s “I’m a Fool to Want You” singing acapella which was required by NGT unless the singer also played an instrument while singing. This was the Judge’s cut round of the competition and was not performed in front of an audience.
In the Semi Final round of NGT, Angelina sang “Bang Bang” which was written by Sonny Bono and was first performed by his wife Cher but is best known sung by Nancy Sinatra. The improvement in each performance is incredible even though there were only a couple months between them.
In the Finals, Angelina did a cover of George Gershwin’s, “Summertime” and won the contest, capturing 46% of the votes from the ten finalists.
When asked what she would like to do with the prize money she won (500,000 kroner or about $80,000), Angelina replied, “I want to give it to the poor children”.
Angelina had become a star in her native Norway and her videos on RUclips went viral. She gave a few concerts during the summer of 2014 while 8 years old.
In December 2014, Angelina realized a life-long desire to sing at the Save the Children's Peace Prize Celebration which is part of the Noble Peace Prize celebration.
Angelina’s family took her to United States, Brazil, Germany, France, United Kingdom, Russia, South Korea, Singapore among other corners of Earth, to perform for heads of state and to help raise money for charity. All before Angelina turned 14.
At age 9, Angelina recorded a music video covering the 1956 Jay Hawkin’s classic, “I Put a Spell On You”. The video begins by showing Angelina writing her “wishes” for how she wants to perform the song. Angelina has always created her own arrangements for her cover songs.
At age 10 and just a week before her 11th birthday, Angelina recorded a demo of “I’m Still Holding Out for You”. Her family never pursued having that recording officially released but someone leaked it on a RUclips video. Thankfully, everyone involved with that song is now ok with the leaked version. Many angels (fans) believe this is one of Angelina’s best performances.
When Angelina was 11, she performed a number of concerts in Norway with a jazz/rock band. Those concerts included up to 14 songs, each remarkably performed. Angelina seems to be at her best when on stage, never nervous, only 100% confident.
Also at age 11, Angelina recorded her “It’s Magic” album which has, at times, been in the top 10 best selling jazz albums.
On June 27, 2018, at age 12, Jordan performed “Fly Me to the Moon” for Quincy Jones in The O2 Arena in London. She has said that was the high point of her young career which was already in it’s 6th year.
During 2018, Angelina lost her paternal grandfather, her friend Avicii and one of her idols, Aretha Franklin. She did a moving tribute for each.
In 2019, Angelina accepted an invitation to compete in the 2nd season of America’s Got Talent (AGT), The Champions. She had, since age 3, wanted to perform for Simon Cowell and she earned his praise with her genius arrangement of “Bohemian Rhapsody”. The surviving members of Queen loved it so much they put a link to it on their Twitter. Angelina was eliminated after covering Elton John’s “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road”. Angelina’s family refused to sign any agreement with AGT.
Angelina, before age 14, had covered more than 130 songs from 80 different artists, spanning at least 8 genres, all of which are available on RUclips. Angelina has always made changes to each song she covers and often her version is preferred over the original. The pandemic hit shortly after her performances on AGT and likely caused a change of plans by her family, most notably her Uncle Michael who is her manager. Her family agreed to a contract with Republic Records in August 2020. Republic Records declared Angelina Jordan their highest priority new artist. Reportedly her family requested Republic to allow her as normal a childhood as possible and therefore have yet to fully promote her.
During the pandemic, Angelina was often seen buying meals for the homeless on the streets of Los Angeles.
In November 2020, Angelina released “Million Miles” which she wrote after the passing of her beloved maternal grandfather. She dedicated the song to anyone who has ever lost a loved one.
Angelina had previously released, 3 other original songs: “What is Life”, “Oslo” and “Shield”
In April 2021, her original “7th Heaven” was released. A jazzy, danceable, inspiring song.
Angelina has posted numerous short performances on Tik Tok and Instagram.
Angelina had concerts in Norway in July 2022.
