Most searches take you to things for training your body to swim. I wanted this for "what if you needed to get off of an island", or just, how can a person go really fast without a motor? The paddle boats at a park surely wouldn't help. I guess a sail like Tom Hanks built in Castaway stays the top of ideas for long distance without an engine. I do wonder if somebody would teach me how to get faster with a kickboard, or if I could have a "cheater kickboard", because I am so bad at it.
Just get a longboard, either a dropped cruiser with medium flex for going fast on short distances, or a board for long-distance pumping. I'd also suggest you learn driving switch, since longboarding becomes really onesided strain otherwise. The fastest boards are downhill boards, but of course only for going down a hill. For flat roads they are uncomfortable because of their stiffness.
