Lovely characters….just found your channel and am loving your makes….I’m older than you but am too a big kid at heart….love all the amigurumi…love making them for my younger grand children and one great grandchild….(another one on the way!!)…so am very busy too, but loving it. So nice that you could include your mums button on Jemima….take care x x x 🥰
Hello, I came across your podcast by chance and so enjoyed it, thank you. I lost my Mum last October and, like you, miss her so much. I send you my condolences.
@@TiaraLaceCrochet - thank you. Mum knitted until she was 94 - she then passed passed her leftover wool over to me. I've at last felt I could I use it and am making a Battenberg Blanket - it's lovely using the wool that she held too.
@@judithward7008 that is beautiful . I would love to see the finished blanket if that is something you would like to share. My email is tiaralacecrochet@gmail.com. It is ab amazing coincidence the last thing my mum was knitting was a tea cosy for me and it has a battenburg design she was too poorly to finish it, I did a few rows and will keep going back to it 🤗
@@TiaraLaceCrochet - thank you Susan - and yes, I would love to share when it's finished - though it might take a while! 🙂. That is such a coincidence re the 'Battenbergs' - hope you are able to finish your tea cosy eventually. x
Adorable. I won a Beatrix Potter book years ago and re-read it. I am sorry to hear of your loss, I understand. I found you today on You Tube. I have a granddaughter named Tiara.
Susan, you have inspired me! I am going to give these cuties a try! I have to thank you. You helped me so very much when I was learning to crochet. I watched and rewatched many of your tutorials. I began my journey a few years ago by wanting to be able to stitch lace borders on pillowcases like my Granny used to have. That’s how I found you. I moved forward with crocheting lots of goodies like baby blankets and booties and hats. And amigurumi has been so fun to learn. Without you and your peaceful voice and wonderful teaching style, I would not have discovered all the fun of this hobby. So thank you, thank you. How I wish we were neighbors so we could enjoy a cup of tea on a rainy afternoon and stitch together. My heart breaks that you lost your Mother. I know that you were a great caregiver for her. She will always be part of you, with every memory you have of her. It was just ten years last month that my Mom passed. I miss her every day. And though I’m sad at times, I feel so much comfort remembering her laugh. She could make anyone she met feel like they were the only person in the room. Sending you warm greetings and care from St. Louis, Missouri, USA! 😊 💐 ~Kelly
Hi Kelly, so lovely to hear I have inspired you to give the little characters a try. It is especially lovely to hear you like lace borders on pillow cases and the connection to your Granny. It would be so lovely to have a cup of tea and crochet, knit, sew, chat with you too. I watch Kate from The Last Homely House and she has a virtual lime green sofa which i think is just so imaginative and lots of her you tube friends sit on it chat and pass the biscuits around. We are all connected and that is the part of the beauty of our shared passion for different crafts. I can understand you miss your mum everyday but at the same time remember lovely things about her. I am just so grateful that I was blessed with a lovely mum and dad too. Lovely to hear where you are from 😊 Sending best wishes from North Wales 🌻
Susan I to enjoy doing amigurumi. Taking the yarn and watching the personality of each character come to life with each stitch. Each character I make gives me such joy, especially when I share them with a child or an adult who is over come with joy upon receiving them, so satisfying. There is the sweetest young boy at my church who is crazy about Spiderman and I will be attempting to make Spidy for him very soon. Love all of the Peter Rabbit characters they are adorable♥God bless, be safe and stay well.
Hi Deborah, I totally agree it really is lovely watching the little characters personalities come alive. I was out for lunch with my friend when I gave her Peter Rabbit and she literally jumped up from the table, gave me a hug and all the people nearby were smiling. I'm sure your Spiderman will be so gratefully received, you may end up with lots of requests🙂
I loved every moment of this. Your stitches are beautiful. The addition of the button from your mum's button box is extra special. Thank you for showing your work to us all. 🤗
Hi, Tiara! I love how you modified the pockets to fit the carrots and super love the little carrots. Thanks for sharing your work, it is so beautiful. The jackets are so much fun. The video was such a pleasure to watch! I love your work!
Hi Susan, it was lovely to see your set of Peter Rabbit crocheted characters - what a lucky find that pattern supplement was! And thank you for your kind mention of my channel - I think we are all very good at inspiring each other! ❤
Hi Helen, yes it really was a lucky find 🙂 really made my day. I meant to mention you earlier but i am so scatter brained at times. I loved all the mice you showed on your last video. Yes we all inspire each other and that is so lovely. I bought one of the knitting books you used for peter Rabbit... I think you mentioned it was quite difficult sometimes i just love difficult as it is like a puzzle and keeps me out of mischief for days . 😉
@@TiaraLaceCrochet Ah yes, the Peter Rabbit knitting book is definitely good if you like the challenge of a puzzle! Very satisfying when you work it all out! 😂💕
They are absolutely lovely! Thank you for sharing your work with all of us, including the areas you struggled. It makes it so much more relatable- everything does not always work out perfectly the first time !
I'm so glad to have come across your video. I have the very same booklet from simply crochet and plan on making all of them for a new gran baby due in January. Listening to your input was helpful and encouraging. Thank you.👍 💗 👍
Hi Susan I just found this on so adorable and cute they are.i know how you feel about your dear mum.lost my mum 9 years ago I used to make all her cardigans in crochet and I knitted toys for her too .never crocheted them though.its hard to lose your mom.keep crocheting it helps .I mostly make baby stuff for charity.i really love your characters your so talented.im a bit older than you 75 sending you love and peace.💖💖💖
They are gorgeous and very traditional ,I like them alot because of their natural faces,I'm not into the majority of crocheted stuffed animals etc, because of the obscure facial features, and shapes, your characters are a pure delight .
I am so sorry to hear that you lost your mom Susan. I didn’t know. I expect she was very proud of all your accomplishments. I love Beatrix Potter characters Susan.. The Tailor of Gloucester being my favourite. I’ve only ever made one Amigurumi animal, a rabbit. I used all cotton and it wasn’t too nice to work with. Me too, refuse to grow up lol. I’ve just bought some Scheepjs Stonewashed and I think it will be lovely to crochet the bodies with. I do like Jemima, a sweet design. I’ve got some of those colours in my stash and am pleased with the Stylecraft quality. Loved seeing your makes. Tfs x
