It's obvious as day that what he does is build up enough hype to get promoters and investors to make a fight with a big name, which then goes on to encourage more promoters and investors to set up an even bigger fight. I think his end goal is Canelo. It's the biggest reason why many boxing fans hate Jake Paul. Rather than go toe to toe with contenders, he can just use hype and easy fights against famed retired fighters to skip the line and get a money fight with Canelo.

@@Christopher-888 I can only speculate as to Tyson’s current financial standing but I’m of the belief that his days of financial turmoil are behind him and I would guess he is fairly comfortable now and saw this as an easy way to pad his bank account. He is and will always be in demand to make appearances as his popularity has grown over the years and he is a major draw internationally.

Mike couldn’t make it past 6 rounds 20 years ago against McBride. If you aren’t delusional you know Mike isn’t going to look great in there, or it’s going to be so staged on both sides that it feels gross. Either way this isn’t good.
Even if Tyson only has say, 2/3 of his prime punching power, he'll still be hitting harder than anyone Logan Paul has ever faced. Foreman was knocking out serious fighters in his late forties, and Tyson has been a lean, healthy man for most of his life. Watch Tyson's fight against Roy Jones a few years ago; he still has serious power and decent endurance. Either he carries Paul to make a show of it, or he lays him out in the first round.
You can tell he was pushing the brakes in that fight, and still he gave some nasty body shots on Roy.
Power is the last thing to go….at least I hear those who know say so.

Seeing Mike Tyson knocked out by a RUclipsr is a circus and something which boxing should not allow. Nearly as bad is a 8 round show-fight where neither fighter hits the other hard, so as to both finish standing. If Tyson knocks Paul out, what have we learned? As a boxing fan I'm not interested in this at all and will not be watching. Paul is using Tyson's name to make a fortune and he hasn't earned it!!

The only thing I disagree with Oscar on is Mike Tyson being able to go 6 or 8 rounds still at 58 years old. He was basically out of gas after 4 rounds 25 years ago when he was still an active fighter, leading to him getting beat on and going down in his last few fights. Lennox beat the crap out of him for 8 rounds, keep in mind he was totally out of that fight by round 4 and I don't know what kept him going unless it was him realizing that it would be the very final time he would ever fight for a belt. After that, Danny Williams pounded him out in 4 rounds, and Kevin McBride exhausted him to the point that Mike quit on his stool. And that was when he was a much younger man in his late 30's.
Since then, he has dealt with decades of alcohol abuse and has smoked and done drugs, and I mean with all due respect there's no way his cardio situation is as "good" as it was when he was a young man who trained like a warrior still.
Mike still has crazy power and I'm sure he still has a good chin, but I think that if this fight is sanctioned as a pro fight and not a pretend / WWE exhibition, Mike will be in a lot of trouble if it goes longer than 3 or 4 rounds. I think Mike knows this and that's why he is going to come out blitzing with everything he has left at 58 years old and hopefully for the final time ever. I do not want to see an exhausted Mike Tyson being KO'd by a youtuber after taking unnecessary punishment at 58 years old. I also don't want to see him absolutely destroyed like Evander Holyfield when he got KTFO by Vitor Belfort.
The best current cruiserweight is Jai Opetaia and he would demolish both Paul brothers one after the next.

20 years ago a young guy fighting a guy almost 60 would be unthinkable. The legacy is important. But watching tyson train and fight with rjj he's really still there. Just terrifying speed and power still. If he can keep his legs, he will beat the breaks off this guy. A lot of people have mentioned holyfid getti g dropped by a nobody. But if you look at his training and sparring, the guy just wasnt there. And it was light years away from seeing tyson doing the same. Tysons drive and work ethic has always been his biggest strength. With modern medicine like hgh and testosterone replacement really changes things. He's not the 57/58 years like most would think. Tysons a unique specimen. Theres few boxers in history that could or would do this fight. But mikes one of the few that could do it, legitimately.

And dropped evander first round. The guys a nobody in the world of boxing. If it was turned around, a mma match between the 2 I'd call holyfield a nobody as well. These are particular sports. Like Mayweather. The guy cant take or give a heavyweight beating. But he is so smooth and can slip punches like no other until its right to attack back. Hes a great boxer, and uses the rules and regulations to help him and exploit. Like a master of any other sport.

Here's the deal. Jake knows what makes money.... Obviously fighting Tyson will bring a huge bag for them both. Paul wants money and so does Tyson. I have a feeling that most of the people that think Mike Tyson will easily beat Jake Paul are much younger than Mike Tyson. And they have no idea how much you lose physically as you age. Sure, Mike Tyson "WAS" one of the greatest heavyweight champions ever. But he retired on his stool against Kevin McBride 19 years ago in his last pro fight.

@@AirborneAndy1 Depends on the sport. I'm nearly 52 and at my prime in any measurable statistic. I'm a lifter not a boxer, so I can't speak to that sport exactly, but after 30 years of training I'm a whole lot stronger and have a better physique than I ever have. Granted, it's a different world, and Mike of course peaked years ago, but muscle memory is real, and with even a fraction of the power and speed he always had, all you need is one combination to drop anybody, never mind a decent amateur. I still think it will be scripted though. A few jabs, Mike chasing him around the ring, and then the bell. I truly doubt there will be any real, genuine exchanges. Boxing has had an issue with some fights (not all obviously) being rigged for years, especially the judging, for ratings and rematches and who knows what else. Throw in that this is an "influencer" fight for big $, and it's pretty likely that it isn't going to be real. I admit I could be wrong, and I will still likely watch it for entertainment, but I'm not expecting much in terms of an actual real boxing match.

No he won’t. Not in this day and age. Back in 1985-86 Paul would’ve died within a minute of the first round. Today, he’s much younger and can box on the level enough to KO an old boxer like Mike.

If it is a Jake contract, the fight will be boring.
If it is a legitimate fight, Tyson could knock him out in round 1 even as old as he is.
We will know very early in if it is legit or a Jake contracr.
What is a Jake contract? Some of the first few people he fought let it slip that the contract stipulated that Jake was not to be punched in the face with punches that could cause damage to his face, and that punches with knockout power in general were not allowed.

The fight Mike was getting ready for was against Bob Sapp. For some reason that I can't recall Bob had to be replaced, and Roy is the one who accepted the fight for the money.

Not an age factor. Its duration of prime and level of matches. Tyson had 4 good years, and lost to most of fighters his equal in the 90s. In the 70s, hed get pummeled by Frazier, Foreman, Shavers...and Ali.
