Retirement sidetracked…hubs wanted to move further north in Michigan, I wanted to move further south for the warmth, I compromised with, “well, I’ll move north as long as I can walk out the back door and to the pond to fish for the rest of the day. So pancreatic hit me in the fourth stage, so I guess I’m not fishing anymore. And hubs is taking great care of me. Thank you Chris and John for these RUclips videos, I’d go crazy without them.
Going to be a nice looking little pond when done. Fortunate to have a short haul both ways and able to generate fill for the borrow pit right on-site with the short haul. Great video, thanks for the ride along sir.
Does anyone think a split screen showing him maneuver the joysticks and controller would be a fun way to watch him work his magic. It might even be used as a tutorial for new and beginner operators. Just an idea. Great video!
Remind me not to take anything to that same repair shop you went to. They let a unit go with a flat tire. They were down a gallon of antifreeze. What else would they do? I don't know. But this job's going all right. Something different. 👍👍🙂🇨🇦🌲
This little pond project is really shaping up quickly. It's going to be a really nice addition to the owners property. Chris and his Uncle John certainly make a great team. Definitely made a nice bit of afternoon snack time entertainment. Can't wait to watch the Bealy damn overflow fill in video post. Thanks Chris.
Hi Todd you could put that whole pond in the Bealy Good Farms pond probably 4 or 5 of them, you hauled more in 1 day than that puddle had taken out of it. Have a great night 🌛
Anxious to see the finished pond Chris, but I think I'm more anxious to see what yall' gonna do with that borrow pit you're getting the clay from, that pasture sure was beautiful, right before that big ass hole in it.
Could you please share some close up shots of the different types of soil you are having to deal with? You know red, white, and the grayish soils 🙂. Thanks
Fun fact: Red clay is known as ultisol & is deficient in phosphate, which is why it can grow good grass & trees but requires fertiliser &/or manure for other uses.
@@oxide9mm northern illinois clay here and it doesn’t grow much. Took 10-15 years before enough grass filled in over the clay for a lawn. When it’s wet it’s like glue, dry it’s harder then concrete. When I get to 30” deep you can no longer dig with augers or hand tools. The frost doesn’t touch it so It’s solid.
And in Australia red clay is often associated with ancient volcanics, some ot the most fertile soil possible... avocados, vegetables, grass. Everything loves it and grows like crazy!
Love watching that dirt roll off the dozer blade. I was thinking. Have you ever did a pond that failed? I sure can't think of anyone to do a pond better.
A sod cutter/roller would have been the perfect tool for the start of that borrow pit. But I know how it is. If you bought the perfect tool for every job, the overhead would be so bad it wouldn't be profitable. Another great video!!
It's just a pasture, not a front lawn. Because it's surrounded by well established grass adding a bit of top soil and maybe some seed and it will fill in in practically no time.
Nice job sir !! Really enjoy your videos , really like the comparison you/stump , for us non-grading people how about 1 on how much dirt is in the excavator bucket , shovel , 5 gallon bucket . We can see you move a lot , but the camera probably doesn’t do it justice !! Thank you for taking us along .
I love your channel, your able to work and talk. Unlike, a certain individual you have gone to an action with not too long ago that stops to talk all the time and have the camera on himself whenever he can! LOL! Thank you sharing!
Lol, you are correct you see where he's going to work and at the end of the video you can see what he did. In between that you see his face and hear him talk lol

Hi Chris. You and John are making short work of that pond. Nice job. I used to think bulldozer was boring, but between you and Mike Simon, dirt perfect, my attitude towards them have changed. Ed from Chicago 🙂
Hello Dixie, Todays video was Chris working for and operating his Uncle Johns equipment. I think Chris has a similar Komatsu dozer but I'd guess the Komatsu in todays video was his Uncles machine. Chris is an incredibly talented equipment operator though. Fun to watch though and he smiles a lot. :)
Man, that Dump packs the hell out of that clay !! It ain't going nowhere...lolol... You and Unk John work so good together, already know what the other is thinking, like working with people like that, makes everything go so much better an smoother... Getting it knocked on out pretty quick, Great as always Chris !! Have a Great Evening, And, On too the Next !!
Not a very big pond. It is interesting how you are able to cross the road and find the clay you need. Everything looking good. Your tired Chris it's time to call it a night.
Hey - hauling Dirt to one Side to the other and back - wow - such nice Red Clay indeed ! Its coming along ! We enjoyed the Video and many Cheers from us in Australia !!!!
Just about at the end of video, and Chris has a controlled Yawning moment ,yes we heard it lol even super heros get tired 😴😴😴😴 Yes hard to get the depth on camera ,must be the lense playing tricks . 😊😊
The 30D, this one with the round newer nose belongs to John, the older 25C on the Bealy project belongs to Chris. The 250 excavator and the dozer on this project are also from John.
Chirs, you need the power of the 250 & the dump truck at the Bealy good project! Just imagine how good that would look on RUclips! You''d leave Dirt Perfect in the dust! ;)

I’ve noticed on these pond projects it’s very hard to get a sense of grade. For instance, here the pond bottom area looks completely flat with the surrounding land, yet the dam is only on one arc of the plot. Just camera illusion I expect. Obviously there is going to be a grade difference!
That’s some good looking dirt for the dam. I’ve noticed that you tend to load your truck from the back to the front. Mike from Dirt Perfect tends to load his truck from the front to the back. It’s just something that’s caught my attention lately while watching all yours and Mike’s videos.
I'm guessing he's making sure the biggest part of the load is over the axles. Just like when he loads logs on his trailer, you'll see him load the logs over the axles of the trailer, centering the load.
@@glennspreeman1634 I asked the exact same question and thought the same explanation as you, but someone replied stating that Chris said he loads back to front so as to create a dirt dam that stops the dirt from falling out the back. It has nothing to do with the articulation / pivot joint. Also both he and DP switch it up it just depends on what they feel like doing that day.
@@snappingbear I read someone saying about reducing the load on the pivot point too but it didn't make much sense. The pivot would take far more stresses once the trucks on the move I'd have thought. Not that I know anything about heavy machinery so i could be totally wrong lol
In cab videos are better Chris... all of that tickling the controls makes for a much better video than 20 minutes of vrooooooooooooooooom overhead pushing dirt. Your commentary is enjoyed as well.

Tks for this explanation - I was going to ask how red clay grew such nice thick grass until I noticed your comment here.
I’m not sure that all red clay is the same from state to state . I live in Tennessee and the only thing that pure red clay will grow here is rocks .
