Russell is both a dream and a nightmare on live TV. Endlessly watchable and wildly unpredictable in all the best ways, where he really shines out performing anyone trying to interview him. A ratings gold mine who would also prefer that people don't watch tell-lie-vision at all.

He couldn't call anyone shallow with the amount of effort he puts into his hair and clothes. I don't think it's a fuck you at all. Rather him just having a laugh. It is also very good for Lara Bingle. Great advertising him doing that with the product.
Was just passing by to this this amazing video again... and yeah, having a new perspective now about it, I guess I can take it in a more chilled kinda way, let's have fun with it sort of, after all Russel is all about Love and Kindness all around our communities.
Never a dull moment with brand around. The way he infects people with laughter is really a wonderful gift to those around him. We could all learn from him.
You put these two geniuses together... Ask them how the weather is and stand back lol. Don't be surprised that somehow they are talking about Pluto and coffee and you laughing your ass off kind of knowing why :). lol
Roberto Benigni, in Italian and in his best years, was in that league too. These guys can improvise and fire jokes at the speed of light, and when they let loose it's amazing to witness. It's also very challenging for colleagues to keep up and not feel upstaged, which is why these characters often are not particularly popular among their peers... For example I'd bet good money that Laura there will never be on a show with Russell ever again.
Seen him live and he was 45 minutes late, no one cared 2 mins in as his energy and amazing spontaneous wit just captured the whole arena, amazing person and wish him all the best in his ride through this short life we all try to enjoy.
Most news shows, try to make a mockery of him, one way or the other. Russ picks up on me it, and throws it back in their face, everytime. If you don't understand why giving him that, was an insult, then that's why you don't understand him. Although, it is hard to tell, his true intent. He's certainly clever enough, to put on an array of disguises. But, he even speaks of that, and admits that he's...human...and has an ego. Few to no celebs do that. Even people who aren't famous, can't.
I'm afraid for that to work he would have to sedate one half of his personality and mature the other half while standing with his full weight on his comedic compulsion.
His internal conflict where his views differ from Russell's meant that he refused to let himself laugh even though he was clearly enjoying it and knew that Russell's an unstoppable force.
Ok in a chaotic interview where all the other hosts are just going with the flow.... @OTAY OTAY probably means Brand is hyper specific. He really paints a picture of his absurd claims in such a way that his audience can see it as well as he does despite most of us being unable to understand half of the words he say.
@OTAY OTAY we all do. If you're interested you could read some of the works on semiotics by Charles Sanders Peirce and Ferdinand de Saussure who are considered 'the founders' of semiotics. Perhaps reading just Peirce will suffice.
@@Chillimonz Jonathan Winters was like a mentor and father to Robin..he could certainly match his game. Look him up and you will see a bit of him in Robins performances.
@@Chillimonz Robin Williams and Russel Brand were definitely gifted the same light speed, free flowing expression gene, and once they're off and running that train ain't stopping. Craig, as a show host, had to throttle back and match his speed to his guests, so that they didn't feel overwhelmed (or at least, not too overwhelmed, as ladies always like it when the guy leads, with comedy, charisma, and a bit of sexual tension).
What's so impressive is how quickly he can process and articulate without pauses; no, 'uhmms' or 'ya knows' or 'wells' ... only coherent, precise, descriptive dialogue, at bullet speed. It's insane. Thanks. This one passed over my head. I was thinking towards the end of the interview that maybe he was being rude. Usually when he seems rude it's because he's responding to the typical charade with a middle finger.
I agree. The reason is, and this is why everyone can't help but just sit there in awe, because he is just speaking from a place of truth. When he does this, it speaks to the truth in everyone. So now it feels like he is shining a spotlight in your face and you can't hide behind the image you hold of yourself. He takes you to a place that is more real than where you are currently, it acts like a magnet that you can't help but be drawn to.
@@BrettGrady-vf4kx Absolutely trilled over these allegations aren't you ? scrambling to ever positive comment on here to put him down. Bless you. Clearly absolutely nothing going on in your life.
He's done a huge amount for the substance misuse sector and become an absolute advocate for people suffering substance use disorders. Several charities have benefitted from him and in turn hundreds of suffering and recovering addicts. I've been to his cafe for meetings in the past. He talks so much sense these days about criminal justice reform for drug users. He's definitely worth paying attention too these days.

Russell never did what most people do while growing up.... lie to themselves until the inner child leaves for good, that's why, even though he doesn't follow protocol, people want to see and hear it instead of being offended. Gotta love him for it
How did he learn to speak ther way he does? Has he read and endless amount of books? I mean..I'm fascinated by every element of Russel Brand, but a lot of the times he says things I can't comprehend and words I've never heard before.
This is exactly what I was wondering as well. It's not only that he has an amazing vocabulary, he uses it in an incredibly witty, powerful and magnetic way, he is an absolute conversational and improvisational master.

Interesting how you mention that balance between male and female energy, because that is quintessence underlying element of the world. Each has their advantages and disadvantages but neither would like to admit their flaws and would like to blame the other for the problems in the world. It's a constant power struggle, and that battle can sometimes even reside within the person themselves.
Find it interesting how a lot of presenters (and audience members) from many talk shows worldwide seem to laugh at Russell Brand at moments where he's obviously not intending to be funny. I feel in his interviews he raises serious political/social arguments and adds jokes to his conversation to not let it "get too deep" and to keep people listening and enjoying listening (and he can be extremely funny). From what I understand, however, his overall goal is to send a positive message to the world and ask for people to help change society for the better. I hope one day people can start taking him more seriously and will realise that what he's says may seem strange to be spoken on a talkshow, but is really raising the questions that we should be raising more. Just because his main profession is a comedian, doesn't mean all he says is intended to be funny and laughed at. WHY is it so dam hard to get people to listen, be affected by, and act on what's TRULY IMPORTANT. Just because its a talk show with comedy doesn't mean we should hold aside the important stuff because we want to keep thing funny.
Most comedians, including Russel suffer from depression. He has bipolar disorder, that is also common in the comedy circuit. So he's personality has the energy and the terrible lows and lots of in-between. So when not hypo-manic or drawing in that energy, he will be relaxed doing hours of yoga. He can be very mellowed. Many comedians draw great humor from depression. It's a coping mechanism in a way.
Are you sure he's bipolar? I've never heard him talk about it, and he would have - he's not guarded about any of his other issues. Having been a drug addict and experiencing related breakdowns/depressive episodes is not the same thing as been manic depressive or even having clinical depression, both chronic.
Tom Yes. Look it up. It's common knowledge. He has openly talked about it. How he was treated for depression as a kid, but back then they did not know to treat the mania. You are not looking in the right places. And yes, I know all about what Bipolar disorder is and all the types and differences, first hand.
I’ll tell what this is. This is called appreciation for life, being sober, being alive! Understanding what is life like one the other side! I am recovering addict and alcoholic and I understand how he feels, what a lovely human being! And funny as hell

I wonder if those women on the panel would they say wow that's shocking and lets hope the due process that must take place NOT in the court of public opinion, but by police and solicitors finds who will the correct verdict. I DON'T hear him getting with any presumption of innocence. JUST a piling on of even more women. Lots of sex jokes taken out of context and its way more than they had on an actor in the U.S. who got 15 years for rape. England's worse with it historical sex crimes unit!
Comedians say the things everyone is thinking but too scared to say to confirm. I had this idea as a small child and was amazed to grow up and realise it's true. The truth of collective consciousness. There's so many similarities between all of us, in the way we think and what we find interesting or funny etc. Obviously there will be opinions that differ but they are usually the outliers for one reason or another.
I love Russell Brand. He's so incredibly intelligent. I don't think I've ever seen anyone who can respond to such a variety of subjects so quickly & precisely-accurately-with humor, but also with bits of sincere, serious thoughtful comments throughout his trains of thought. It would be so interesting to sit and have a conversation with him. I wonder how someone with that much passion, energy, emotion, and intelligence feels on a daily basis dealing with so many morons in the world. Wonder if that's lonely? Anyway, love him!
i love this man. he's gorgeous, loaded to the till w/ razor-sharp quick wit, has great taste/style & the accent certainly helps! he is charismatic, charming & confident, which is why every woman in his presence he flirts so outrageously with is ready to drop trou at the drop of a hat. but his sexiest quality is his intelligence. he has run circles around people leaving them at a loss for words more often than most likely any other celebrity... he is easily one of the most entertaining people to watch in interviews, whether it's making women of all ages blush like a schoolgirl or leaving unequipped anchors gobsmacked & stuttering, it's always a ride with mr. brand...
Russel changed up on her when he heard she had a guy and in a intelligent way just trolled her and not let her plug her product lol thats funny stuff. hes a smart dude.
Russell Brand exhudes such extraordinary confidence and free spirit (sometimes too much and he tends to forget he's in a news talk show), witty banter, quick-witted, spontaneous, a towering/commanding/overbearing figure (depends on how you look at it), articulate, charismatic, and such a natural. Wowww.. and Fifi Box is freakin gorgeous.
He speaks twice as much as a normal "fast" speaking person and it all still makes sense, no babbling, how does he do that? xD Good God, he's hilarious xD I'm gonna watch Russell Brand videos every time I'm down (which is all the time at the moment xD) :D
That's a byproduct of years on drugs - it fires up your brain, but too much and you'll fry it instead. Russell managed to get off drugs right at the sweet spot. If you've ever know somebody who's fried their brains on drugs, you know their stream of consciousness is so fast they can practically babble all day, but because of the fried brains they can't make anything coherent come out. So the fact that Russell can talk at that speed and still be coherent means he didn't get his brain fried. Then you add to that mix his wonderful British accent and incredible vocabulary (chaining three words that all mean the same - cyclical, circular, circuitous), and you've got magic. The rate he speaks gives you little time to mince his words and forces you to just take it all in means every word he drops sinks in at a subconscious level, and that's why he's so charismatic.
Johanna Jordan Thank you very much, working on it (sorry, saw your comment just now) =) ferofax Oh, yes, I knew someone who was (still is?) a drug addict and she was exactly like that personality-wise, very vivid, fast, but I'm afraid she fried her brain, because she already had problems with some cognitive matters (concentration, attention, focus)... You're right, he's a perfect mixture and he got off the drug reel at the (last) right moment, as it seems. Good for him and good for us =)
Please note this is a FUNNY GUY A GENTLEMAN AND HUMOUR WAS ALLOWED. THIS IS BEFORE WOKENESS AND PRONOUNS AND WHEN PEOPLE HAD A SENSE OF HUMOUR - AND UNDERSTAND COMEDY AND BANTER !!

I noticed the same and Russell realised it too that's why he said the Russel and Walid show or something like that. And he lowkey insulted Lara when she said he was being loud and didn't understand him telling her she is "perfect"
Maybe, he might be misrepresented in the comments, and actually has a fondness for him. But I heard he's a bit of a dick. And if he supported mandates he's a massive dick.

Sometimes 2 or 3 times a month
Russel is always great but I want to give a cheer for the interviewers who I thought handled him in the best possible way.
It's because Australians have banter yanks do not
For sure! I was especially impressed with the woman on the left. Kept things straight while being able to have a good laugh at it all.
They tend to just relax & enjoy the show. Whereas other interviewers try to compete with him for laughs or criticise him for his sex & drug addict past .

I can't think of a better improviser at comedy. Similar to Robin Williams, they have jokes running in their heads every second
Agreed. Both unbelievably quick witted.
If you put Robin and Russell in the same room it would be a beautiful duel to watch hahaha.
+Juan P no it wouldn't -- it would be a simultaneous implosion and explosion and there would be nothing left of either one of them.
Susan Exler hahaha
+Juan P I think that is spot on. Like the bloke says just before the 14:00 mark "I just saw you edit about five jokes then"...
his verbal ability is truly amazing for a comedian, quite clearly he should be writing books, he has the mind of a gifted writer
He does write books. The first 2 were autobiographical, 'My Booky Wook' & 'My Booky Wook 2' ...and the latest was titled 'Revolution' which was mostly his philosophical and political ramblings about how the way in which the world is run is a bit off track and what it all could be. I'd recommend reading all 3 of them, he is a ray of light and a beacon of hope and wisdom.
+Coma Toast he also wrote a children's book, a reinterpretation of the pied piper of hamilin with a few fart jokes that was illustrated by Chris riddle and is genuinely beautiful!
His verbal ability is truly amazing period.

Dat Huy Richard Le true, but less so.
The Waleed guy seemed to be the only one able to keep up.
His internal conflict where his views differ from Russell's meant that he refused to let himself laugh even though he was clearly enjoying it and knew that Russell's an unstoppable force.

Several charities have benefitted from him and in turn hundreds of suffering and recovering addicts. I've been to his cafe for meetings in the past.
It's been 8 years since your comment here and Russell is now listened seriously by millions on his podcasts.

He speaks twice as much as a normal "fast" speaking person and it all still makes sense, no babbling, how does he do that? xD
Good God, he's hilarious xD I'm gonna watch Russell Brand videos every time I'm down (which is all the time at the moment xD) :D
Feel better! :)
The rate he speaks gives you little time to mince his words and forces you to just take it all in means every word he drops sinks in at a subconscious level, and that's why he's so charismatic.
ferofax lool "fried brain" i don't know why i found that so funny... good analysis tho

Thank you very much, working on it (sorry, saw your comment just now) =)
ferofax Oh, yes, I knew someone who was (still is?) a drug addict and she was exactly like that personality-wise, very vivid, fast, but I'm afraid she fried her brain, because she already had problems with some cognitive matters (concentration, attention, focus)...
I've watched this interview MANY TIMES, and it STILL cracks me up big time
Still
@@nigelnyoni8265 same
me too
Now THAT was amazing. Brand is hilarious, quick witted and intelligent beyond belief.
Probably the best host team Russel has ever been interviewed by.
+Homercles the great! why?
+Homercles the great! Oh. no I'm not. And yeah i was talking about the way they interviewed Russel. Almost all the other interviewers either have a condescending attitude towards him, or they can't keep up with him and it's cringe worthy to watch.
Jed the Jew CEO of Hebrew Hotels , in the meanwhile , enjoy your Brexit ... 😂😁😂
Waleed Ali is shit, the rest are all right
Are you kidding???
I get the feeling that Walleed is the one actually understanding him perfectly. Yet at the same time realizing that he does not have the freedom to respond as he might have off camera.
He puts out total Robin Williams vibes. Just effortlessly funny and witty, but also profound and obviously very intelligent. And just like Robin, Russell never fails to bring a smile to my face.
Wow yea never saw before 😂 yea exactly like robin😊
