FYI, it's the intake charge cooling effect that carbs have that's the reason people say they make more power. It's just like how moving fuel injectors further up stream of the intake valves can make more power.
Check the rear end and see if there is a bit of "lead" in the rear on one side. Basically making the rear axle sit at a slight angle. That is part of how the oval guys make these turn naturally. I know when I picked up my Legend the last owner had a ton of lead in the rear. He had adjusted the rear bars all the way and even bolted it back in in single shear just to get the most lead he could.
I was just about to say this. From watching how the car reacts you can see it flicks left amazing, but looks like he is fighting it to get her to go right. I bet it's doglegged in the back
Nothing about how these are designed or built makes a Legend better at turning left. It's all in the suspension setup. These are great road racers and hill climb cars.
I got to admit the Safari GTR is one of my favorite builds you've done in a very long time so simple almost budget-ish compared to your typical builds.
Ive always really liked listening to Jack explain things when hes on the different channels.. reminds me of my pops the way he kind of makes what hes doing exciting..!
The guy who tuned the carbies is a legend, more of him please. He had so much knowledge and i feel like everyone could learn so much just listening to him
Jack is always the dad that shows up, that we didnt know we needed, but we definitely needed, and later are like, yea...we needed. Thanks Jack. Love you my guy
As a house painter with 20+ years of real experience, you done the best thing for your house and health filling them cracks an painting it white. Mold is very bad for you and it starts fast in an environment like that. Looks beautiful and your gonna love it when it's done. Love the content man. Keep up the good job.
I really like your channel. I was a mechanic for forty years and I’m familiar with NASCAR, NHRA and World of Outlaws. Drifting is new to me but I still have that want to learn more. I like watching you build your projects and my favorite is the legend car probably because I know those types of cars. Good luck in Colorado.
I'm a motorcycle mechanic and and some bikes still had carburetors well in to the 2000s!!! You would be surprised how many performance bikes still have carburetors!
A white or bronze shadow interlock chain would be solid for the bmx bike. This build is definitely different but has become one of a kind 🔥 unit. Glad Sean and Lee got to get some love since they are a big part of the RB sector of LZMFG!
I recommend using gear grease when drilling medal this will help to cut easier and mainly the longevity of your bits you can also sharpen your bits and using grease I've had some of the same bits for 7 years and this is drilling big steel I was raised with a family who was born into steel work and this lesson has always been something I've used especially when some bits can cost a good penny.
Adam coming with the fire content and nice work on the safari gtr it came out so sick with the matching bike 👌 and your streetbike powered drift car is insane looks like so much fun and only you would think of drifting it like everything else keep up the great work 👍
Hey lz you probably won’t see this but that is a circle track car that’s why it feels so much more grip to a side because every little thing is bulit to slide the car one way get a new gas tank and the wheels need to be different sizes so like the side it pulls too needs to be like 255 and the side it doesn’t like 260-265 that will help and mount the gas tank more to the side it doesn’t pull to I’ve had one that I tried to do normal time attack that’s what helped me just give it a shot love the vids keep it up❤
I love that you still wrench on your projects. Keeps it feeling like the OG vlogs and so much respect given how busy you are. Also sick to see you investing in machining tools to fabricate in house...it's the real deal dream shop setup!
I do custom carpentry, there is a product we've started using that would get a great seal on those ceilings and can be finished ultra dull or gloss depending on what you like. We are working on the west coast right now but im based out of Michigan, and its crazy how much mold grows on the coast and so fast! And we havent had any issues with mold growing on the sealed surface. I know the heat/moisture is a bit different in florida though.
Many companies make bent rods for extra clearance. Outpace racing products makes a nice bent rod that you could run on the tie rods and gain a ton of clearance on the shocks.
I was tempted to do a write-up on the carbs when you where messing with it earlier but but the nuances in adjustment are to great and the chances of you ever reading it here to slim, Jack did a great job explaining. Well worth learning though even if you are playing with modern EFI most of the time. Unlike FI they are non adaptive so it takes a lot more intricacy to make them work in the wide rev range (1 to 13/14k) motorcycles have. Even if that can be adjusted on the fly with FI it gives you a better understanding of the whole process.
Carbureted v8s can make more power, due mostly to the cooling effect of the atomized fuel mixing with the air as it moves through the intake. Port/ direct injection don’t allow this cooling effect to take place. However proper tuning can make up the difference.
Tuning tip for multiple carbs, turn every idle screw until engine almost dies, then turn all the way until motor speeds up. Pay attention to how many turns and back off to the middle of both. The center carb should always run a little richer then the outer carbs because of heat. Set float levels all the same and adjust each carb with a bubble balancer. Tuned carbs
Though throttle bodies don't tend to have slides, there are similar styles of the same concept for throttle bodies out there, particularly for ITB style setups. "Roller-barrel" throttles will work like it in the sense of "full throttle" just being a straight pass-through for air with no blockage. These are usually made in two main types, single roller or dual roller, where the single one has just a hole through it, and the dual has stacked rollers that make up one half of the opening each. Great stuff but expensive since the ones people usually want are made by Cosworth and such. ..but, they sound freaking amazing.
Would love to see the blue reto thing setting a lap time around the compound. May be even 2 laps, a grip lap and a drift lap, see which style of driving is faster in it.
I've been watching your RUclips channel for mean years I remember you having the BMX ramp thing in your backyard you are the reason why I won't start drifting
Dude I can’t wait to see this thing in Colorado! Killer build Adam! Gotta love someone who isn’t afraid to “destroy” a GTR and turn it into something truly incredible! Good on you 👌
I have been in one of these, it was Heikki Kovalainen`s old Legend kart and the guy was there with us in 2008 when he raced in his hometown with cokarts and legends. It was awesome to hear the engine roar when sitting in one, i was 9 back then. I was lucky to sit in it because my dad knows Heikki´s parents and i was really keen to sit in it
Can't wait for some Colorado GTR Safari fun! Jacks great! Dude can tune about anything, got the legend's drifter dialed. Now Adam's got the suspension pretty much dialed, but that hood wants outta there....
A Safari build GTR has never crossed my mind but damn is this one sweet. I’m in the market for a GTR myself and now I’m interested in doing something similar. I live in the Appalachian Mountains so it makes sense to me to go this route
i went to zumiez 100k in 2015 and it was the greatest weekend of my life. I met the owner of almost every brand sold in zumiez and so many pro skaters. Ken block brought out his raptor trax that year RIP
I really like the retro livery on the safari GTR the whole car came out so sick and it looks like you got the streetbike powered drift car dialed in perfect nice work 👍
You have some of the best fab Guys out there don’t compromise have them mount the snowboard at an angle with a bracket or something so it will it next the tire
That legend is so cool, best stress reliever of all time. You need to put some AFR sensors, so you know fuel ratio make it way easier to tune. Good luck
I wish I had jack when I was working on my cb500.. I pulled and put the carbs on that bike easily 20 times. It took me 8 months of hating life to understand and make the carbs run wild
The reason that carbs tend to make more power is that the fuel ends up creating a cooler intake charge temp because it effectively cools the entire intake. Arguements can be made for better atomization of fuel with passing air because the longer time it has to mix. The theory doesn't really apply as well on bike engines with 2 inches of runner length as there is just not enough distance from the cylinder head for the cooling to take as much affect on the charge temp.
Its getting snowy. Trails here get sketchy fast but its been a mellow winter. If you want something easy check switzerland trail outside of boulder if your in the area. I live down the road.
Probably the best "Not million dollar stupid GTR build ever" It's a shame that I am more invested in your house renovation than this absolute automotive weapon! Happy 24 LZED keep doing whatever you do. Additional shoutout to all of the LZ crew without the crew there is no you. All hail the new and improved Hoonigaint!
Jack Cecil has definitely dropped some good knowledge on this episode. Ultrasonic cleaner would do wonders but you can tell the legends car performs so much more differently. I love seeing it in action..
I love the hood flopping around all over the place on the legends car, just adds to the experience. How would making either the front fogs on the Safari32 yellow? Or like two outside ones yellow or inside on a different switch? Or even possibly some old KC (I think that’s the name) inspire light covers with the LZ or LZMFG logo in it Also I know It’s not needed for the snow, but I’d still love to see a snorkel on it for when you hit some ponds
I love the legends car on the series. I grew up watching them. And it makes me smile to see one repurposed like this. Honestly this could be a whole new class of drifting if people start catching on and using these. I. Sure it takes a lot to dial them in for drifting but I would think this could be a great platform of someone who wants to drift but doesn’t have the fund to put together a good drifting car
Have you thought about changing where the shock mounts on the control arms of the legend car? That way you can run however much angle you want cause you’re able to move the shock back and possibly add more caster also?????
Last video, I asked for a cool retro lovery, and you've already delivered 👌 Love watching this Safari build content! One of my favourite builds in a while.
Had a blast as usual visiting the homies! The safari GTR is looking fun! Can't wait to see it in some snow!
FYI, it's the intake charge cooling effect that carbs have that's the reason people say they make more power. It's just like how moving fuel injectors further up stream of the intake valves can make more power.

Upvote this! Haha
+1
I was just about to say this. From watching how the car reacts you can see it flicks left amazing, but looks like he is fighting it to get her to go right. I bet it's doglegged in the back
Built to only go left and he is fighting it to turn right. There has to be lead or a geometry change that still needs to be made.
Nothing about how these are designed or built makes a Legend better at turning left. It's all in the suspension setup. These are great road racers and hill climb cars.
I got to admit the Safari GTR is one of my favorite builds you've done in a very long time so simple almost budget-ish compared to your typical builds.
I agree 👌🏻
I agree but side note, I wish I had Adam’s budget lol
dont we all my friend@@sinkorswimcreativemedia8889
Your right it’s significantly more simple than most of his builds but something about this is just fun
@@sinkorswimcreativemedia8889I think we all do 😂
The safari GTR is such a great change of pace this build has been one of the best in a while!
It would’ve been a winter build if he still lived up in CT
@@connoisseuroftigolbittshe’s going to be driving it in Colorado
@@Kevhoe nice
You 100% brought the right guy for the motorcycle engine. Jack is a legit master. That poor hood was hanging on for dear life.
Be careful if anyone tries chasing you in the legend they might get distracted by the hood flapping 😂
so distracted they find a wall to park on 😵
Y’all are both savage for those comments haha…
What a sick ref 😂
Dan Stuke would be offended 😂
He will have to put them on the trailer
Great collaboration between the 2 of you. Bring Jack around more.
Adam assembling a bmx bike just hits so right. Takes me back, I can almost hear the old FTGU outro song

Whats his channel?
Jack is always the dad that shows up, that we didnt know we needed, but we definitely needed, and later are like, yea...we needed.
Thanks Jack. Love you my guy
Haha thanks I'm always around to help!
Adam the engine in your streetbike drift car is a yamaha 1200cc that came out of 1986 to 1990 yamaha FJ 1200 streetbike 👍
15:29 i have to admit i loved this part how he was saying everything in what it actually does and how that slide works
Jack is so knowledgeable. Love Jack

Adam plz do more with this guy ! Soo awesome knowledge u both share!
Turned out rad!! Pleasure working you as always. Thx for the love!
I love Jack. The dude is basically a scientist... 😆
Jack was cool and he knows what he is doing for sure!
Always nice to see jack. Such a good dude.
Im so excited to see you rip the GTR off road, it's definitely going to be one of the most unique builds this year.
Thank you Jack for the amazing carb lesson you absolute legend ❤
Enjoy!
MUCH LOVE FROM TRINIDAD ADAM been watchin since the backyard bmx days

Jack's a dude. I actually learned a few new things about carburettors in a couple of minutes listening to Jack just then.

The ignite branding on the rooftop gas can was dope touch 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
I remember seeing the legend cars race Wednesday nights at the track growing up it’s so cool to see one of these things drifting

Man you might be creating a whole new scene for drifting with Legend cars..... crazy.

The painted wood looks sick, reminds me of ship lap.
Keeping bmx attached to the channel makes me so damn happy ❤
The streetbike car is by far my favourite on the channel super funky.
I wish I had jack when I was working on my cb500..
I pulled and put the carbs on that bike easily 20 times.
It took me 8 months of hating life to understand and make the carbs run wild

Digging the GTR Safari build. As Always, May God Bless you and yours! 😇

2 strokes have air screws, 4 strokes are fuel screws. Vacuum tool only way to get it dialed, same tool vw guys use.
Jack Cecil has definitely dropped some good knowledge on this episode.
Ultrasonic cleaner would do wonders but you can tell the legends car performs so much more differently.

Love jack, miss him in Chris’s videos
The engine in the legend car is a Yamaha fj 1200 and they respond well to fcr flat slide carbs
Jack Cecil 👍

Brand new they're nearly $20k. With used nice ones close to $10k, it wouldn't be worth it.
I love when you, Jimmy O and Grant Anderson do collab videos #myfavoriteRUclipsrs 💯🔧🚗🏁®️
This video is going to help me out a lot. I have an 82 seca 650 with the same carbs and it needs a bit of a tune up. thank you 🙏
One of the best builds yet !!
Jack is the real OG!
Have you thought about changing where the shock mounts on the control arms of the legend car? That way you can run however much angle you want cause you’re able to move the shock back and possibly add more caster also?????
Natural Tube lighting is pretty cool way to get natural sun ☀️ light 💡 in your house and certain rooms etc!
Last video, I asked for a cool retro lovery, and you've already delivered 👌 Love watching this Safari build content! One of my favourite builds in a while.
The bike engine is probably a Yamaha FJ 1200. Cause it's air cooled. In Denmark we run these cars in races. They are called formel Ford or Legend cars
Jack is the most helpful happy guy ever
This might be my favorite car you own! Perfect tly done.
