@@JohnMichaelGodier Discussions around the idea of an asteroid impact of the scale that took out the dinosaurs does the opposite for me, I find such debate to be rather disquieting. And when I realize that we are overdue for just such an event and that we have absolutely no way of preventing such an event, well you might imagine my reaction. 😉 Indeed, the lack of global concern following the unexpected and very real Chelyabinsk impact is something we ALL should find troubling.

So this year has gone sideways for all of us, but one good thing to have come out of it, is my rekindled love for astronomy. I have been following both your channels, and it has helped update me hugely. I gave astronomy up years ago, due to bullying at school. Anyhow, I'm back and 10 months in to it all. I was wondering, however, where people with astronomy channels get their content from in terms of images and video? I've looked online and not had many answers. I assumed maybe people got a license from some place for it, again I don't know where. Any info you could give would be seriously appreciated. I am really hoping to get good enough soon to start making some videos, even if it's a labour of love, I don't care, I just want to get into it as much as possible ad make up for lost time. Thanks for the info and videos. Daniel.

Definitely in my top 5 YT channels of all time.. it’s people like JMG that make us fall in love with science and give us that childlike sense of wide eyed wonder.
Science communication should always be done by artists/creatives who are intelligent enough and take the time to understand the material, actual scientists spend so long analysing endless streams of data and trying to solve complex problems, somewhere along the line their poetic sensibility and charisma atrophies.. with rare exceptions like Niall De Grasse Tyson, Richard Feynman, Richard Dawkins

Thank you for explaining all this not in a matter of fact form and rather as it is, a hypothesis.

To the idea at the end about sighting of humans may be same sci-fi for aliens as they are to us: If you saw Babylon 5, especially later not so popular spin off "Crusade", in one part this idea appeared :D, actually pretty funny episode. BTW thanks for new episode, I could test my new speakers thanks to your good voice xD and I was not disappointed...
