And with the amount of cut content, it barely counts as a game at all (as an RE game that is). So... it's hard for me to count them as canon, in spite of the creators' intention.
The Barry ending is the true ending, and in my opinion the best ending in RE. When he came for Jill it just says how tight the bond S.T.A.R.S. members had with each other, and something Wesker can't break nor understand, is that bond they had with each other inside the team.
Wesker was a manufactured, mutant freak who was so hopelessly narcissistic that he believed he was a god and had the right to play god with 8+ billion people's lives. I hope they bring him back one last time so we can turn him into literal mince meat. Even being blown up in an active volcano is too merciful for a genocidal maniac like him.
You can see how game developers back then seriously making secret endings for us to figure out a 5-10 years later, this like a golden times that we unravel this kind of masterpiece. Thanks capcom
I haven’t played the original version but I can definitely say that Carlos in this is a lot better than that sweaty caveman in the remake… Hell jill is even more likable in the OG than the REmake (Update I have played the OG and as hard as nails as it is, it is a very fun game! Wayyyyy better than the REmake!)
That's subjective. Re3 OG is great but it was pretty standard as far as survival horror in 99' but r3make is one of a kind for 2020. You wont find a single other video game besides re2 that plays like re3 in 2020 or since but in 99' you could buy like 20 other games that played similarly to re3.

The remake could've been good but all the content that was cut Jesus. Even the old one had content cut but it was still amazing nemesis made sure you needed to go he would pop out of nowhere and years ago me and cousin discovered he could break down safe room doors and let zombies in. The safe room music would legit be gone as well. In the remake you have to raise the difficulty and you know where he is and isn't going to chase you just ruined the experience for me. And don't get me started on the story.
I like the false ending; because the idea of Jill pushing Nemesis off is wonky to me lol. Aside from the fact that he's built like a tank, I wouldn't wanna touch him!
It's wonkier to me to think that Nemesis would opt for finding another way down rather than just jumping off the bridge after Jill.... would have been sick if we got a 'Predator' moment with him jumping in the water behind her
There's a similar file in the Umbrella's End scenario of UC with Chris and Jill at the Umbrella European headquarters where there's a correspondence letter written between Nicholai and Sergei. It's in a file.
I have been playing this since High School and now the memory card that I used is still intact. Over 50+ saves and I didn't know that there is such as true ending. Indeed this game is a legend. Thank you Capcom!

I watched my brother play the demo that came with Dino crisis and while I never specifically played this game, I’m so thankful because it’s so nostalgic to watch videos of games with these graphics and style. It’s really cool to have a grown-up with games like crash bandicoot that actually felt like video games and not interactive films. Those are great too.

I've never played the original RE3. It seems like Capcom loves letting the slippery serpents like Nikolai to get away. although, in the Good ending, we see Barry Burton. That scene gave me some hope because we see him in revelations 2.
I never even knew about these multiple endings, i didn't realise the choices in the game made that much of a difference. It makes me realise all the more how the remake just didn't make as much effort in crafting the story.
Seriously though in all reality with the EMP burst and the gamma-ray bursts that come out literally nanoseconds before a nuclear explosion explodes that helicopter would have had no chance

I've beat the Original RE3 game more times than I can remember and though I found out just a few years ago that Nicholai escaping was canon, I would often choose the option to push Nemesis off the bridge. It was the choice I made on my first playthrough as a teen and also the more convenient option in my opinion. It may be a false ending, but yet a rather satisfying ending to have Nicholai taken care of by Nemesis.
I personally think there is no bad ending or true ending, I think all of them are good endings either way whether you kill Nicolai or let him escape. You can tell Capcom put lots of work into this game… I miss the olden days where Capcom had love for RE2 and RE3.

I love how the biggest difference in the good and true endings is Carlos' "hooray" jump when the chopper arrives.
