In the 1st combo: You can add back Cartesia in the EP, and discard it later for Lubellion. CL 1 Lubellion, discard Cartesia, CL 2 Quem, target Cartesia. This is legal as you had a legal target in the GY other than Cart (Albion).

4:38 you can add cart back in end phase to discard off lubellion

Quick question as I've recently got back into YGO and playing Branded Despia w/ Gimmick Lock.
Should I wait for my opponent to make some plays before going for a gimmick lock if I have other forms of disruption? Or is it better to activate Red ASAP (i.e draw/standby) to bring out sanctifier and attempt the gimmick lock?

I’d say it depends on the meta. Lately I’ve seen players wait until main phase and see what the opponent is playing (this is also if they play 2 Granguinol, and they actually dump Titaniklad on the first and then summon a second Granguinol on the opponent’s turn to dump gimmick puppet). Depends on your risk level lol

If you don't want to play gp lock, should Sanctifire Dragon stay in the extra deck anyway?

Yes I’d say so! Helps you to protect yourself from Evenly and a non targetable beat stick is always nice to have against certain matchups

I thing about nib, my opponent always wait the nib and chain it when i say to fuss with cartesia.. cant do anything here right?

Mirrorjade effect triggers on nibiru tribute, so nib would not stay on their side of the field when playing through it. I love playing through nib in MD

Not in this particular example as I say in the video. It’s because I had to fuse it off with Cartesia so it wasn’t tributed

@@HakunaMyDataoh yes true my bad. I usually let let tribute it and banish the Lubellion

Regarding Nib, what do you do if they hold Nib for cartesia's effect? Without lost adding Albion, there's no target in the graveyard for branded in red, so can't they just hold it until you extend more, even if you do get lost?

Interesting scenario! In that case, you’d still chain Mirrorjade and dump Titaniklad, banish your Bystial Lubellion, and then Mirrorjade and Cartesia would get tributed off nib. Let’s assume we don’t have a Despia monster in hand to resolve Cartesia fusion with the nib token. You’d declare MJ eff and then in end phase, you’d summon Quem off Titaniklad which would dump Albaz, and then set Branded in Red off Albion (and can add Cartesia back too).
Now if you happen to have any dark monster left in hand, that would mean next turn you’d be able to gimmick lock still based on the combo I showed. Otherwise, you still have some plays as you have a Branded in Red, a MJ you can bring back off Quem, and now also lost on field so you could add Merc for an extra monster negate!
