I bought a condo in pv in 2007. Everything you brought up is relevant- great video. I Spend 6 months here and 6 on Vancouver Island. The thing I love best is the people. Everyone friendly and happy- local, expat, and tourists. Beautiful place.
Colin gave a nice overview of PV and it's nice to hear that someone besides me hasn't visited Mexico for years but wants to move there, lol. I'm glad that he has found a place to call home!
Hola, Lance here. Left South Africa and chose PV to start my new life (as a tourist for now). Even with a US passport, i'm happier here than i've ever been. Relocated here with my dog, too. 🌈
I am surprised I just flew back from Mexico City, and I live in Los Angeles, California. I have not been to Mexico City since 1980 when I went with a couple of buddies who had relatives there. Man! how much it has grown and changed. It looks like New York City now. It was beautiful one of the people I talked with says that the Costco there you can buy a membership there and use it in both Countries, The U.S. and Mexico. I loved it. I want to go back again.
Thank you for the video, Mariana. Just one small but not insignificant correction: Mexico IS part of North America. It is the southernmost nation in North America but it is part of North America, nonetheless.
I love this guy! "BETTER THAN LOBLAWS" 😂😂 Loblaws is THE MOST expensive chain in Ontario. Good for you mate. You seem way happier than here in Toronto.😊 it's only gotten tougher since you've left. Happy one year anniversary BTW 🎉❤❤❤
Thanks for your information. My niece and her boyfriend just flew back from Guadalajara, and Puerto Vallarta, Mexico in February. She loved Mexico and that was her first time. Her boyfriend has family in GDL. They stayed one week in Puerto Vallarta and one week in Guadalajara. She was telling me that GDL, is the Silicon Valley of Mexico. That it is growing fast. She was showing me pictures of Homes for sale there. I went on RUclips, and went to Capital Brokers Homes for sale in Guadalajara and Man! There were beautiful homes, and the pools were so well designed. Maybe someday I will buy a vacation home in GDL or P.V. Mexico. Thank You & Have a Great Day.
You should def check out GDL. It's a great city and we know plenty of people who love living there. And yes, it's considered the silicon valley of Mexico because of all the tech companies there. Plus, next to Mexico City, it the best healthcare in Mexico. If you ever want to go on a scouting trip in GDL check out our site mexicorelocationguide.com/tours/
I bought a condo in PV in 2007. Best thing I’ve ever spent money on. This place is unbelievable how beautiful and friendly it is. Spend 6 months there, and 6 in Canada. Have many expat and local friends. Like I said- best money ever spent.
I'll ask him about that- but ultimately all dogs are different and not all dogs are affected by the noise while some are very affected. If you know your pup is very affected by these kinds of noises, we recommend not living near a city center or a very trendy neighborhood.
Everyone will have a different perspective of the same city. Hundreds of thousands of people like living in PV but not everyone will love it there. What works for someone else might not work for you.
It's unfortunate you found it insufferable. I was there for 2 weeks and enjoyed it immensely. I went horseback riding whale. Watching Igambled in the casinos enjoyed the beautiful beach and the food was fabulous. I failed to mention all of the wonderful deals that I found while shopping. The weather was perfect. 😊 You may want to reconsider or just stay home and save your money..
I have spent my winters in PV for the last 8 years and talking to many expats who chose to return home the two biggest reasons given was they expected things to be done at the pace they were accustomed to back home, and it is not, and they didn’t want to learn Spanish. In tourist towns like PV, it helps to know a bit of Spanish I suppose, but you can certainly get by on English only. As for getting things done when you want it done, I can only tell you that you are in their country, and move at their pace, so best to leave your US/ Canadian way of expecting results quickly behind, or you are in the wrong place, because they live on manana time.
Yes, the income requirements for residency in Mexico start at 6160/ Month CAD for temporary residency. Unless you have visited Mexico before and can prove it with stamps in your passport. Then you qualify for the RNE program which grants you residency without having to prove economic solvency. mexicorelocationguide.com/regularization-program-residency-in-mexico/

It is nice when people find their spot. Happy for him.
I plan to- thanks for the suggestion :)

Very informative and helpful video, thanks for sharing :)
I'm considering buying a home in Mexico to live part time, and hearing from those who've done this already is very helpful. Thanks, Mariana!

I think I failed that question in World Geography 😂😂
Learned this in my first college Spanish class. I was stunned. Lol!
Pretty sure Panama is the southernmost North American country

Thank you I enjoyed your video I am retired and living the nomad lifestyle so always open to new places to live and visit
Fabulous video. Thank you
Great overview of life in PV! Thanks for sharing your experience 🤗
Great interview. Thank you.
Very helpful. I'm thinking of the Guad/Ajijjic/Chapala area. Is there a bus between there and PV?
Not a direct one but you would need to go to Guadalajara then transfer to PV

Hi Colin ,thanks for your story . I am wondering about the noise from fireworks . I have a small dog who is sensitive . How has the noise level been?

What medical insurance do you use please?
What am I missing? I just got back from Puerto Vallarta and found it insufferable.

glad you are settled and happy, but now in 2024 us Canadians need a monthly income of +/- 6400$ Cdn., Anyone knows different, please comment !!
