Dream Odyssey - Hostil Presence

There are many controversies regarding alien life, many argue that with the size of the Universe it is very likely that somewhere there is a planet similar to Earth, which carries life. Others argue that this is a romanticized view of the Universe.
Well, as science fiction writer Arthur C. Clarke said:
“There are two possibilities…Either we are alone in the universe or we are not. Both are equally terrifying.”
But, assuming that there may be life somewhere, many speculate that, if it exists and forms an advanced civilization, we should not attempt contact, because, as Stephen Hawking said, “It could be like the meeting between Columbus and the Indians”
So the following question remains.
NASA sent a disc into space containing welcome messages in several languages.
But what we really need to ask ourselves is:
Haven't we been taught who we don't see inviting strangers into our home?
