  • Constanza Dominican Republic is not only the source of countless bountiful harvests of fresh vegetables and fruits, it is also a feast for your eyes. The DRescapes.com team headed out to explore the mountains and valleys surrounding Constanza. This was our first foray into this area and we were not disappointed. As you will see in this video and part 2, everywhere you look you are treated to breathtaking mountain panoramas and hillside farms. Endless farms of cabbages, strawberry's, apples, peaches, garlic and potatoes... to name a few. Constanza is also home to a wide variety of flowers, roses and other landscape plants.
I would not recommend this trip through rocky and sometimes almost washed out roads without a 4 wheel vehicle, or maybe a truck with larger tires. But with the right vehicle, this trip from Cabrera over to Constanza is a real treat for the eyes.

You'd have to see it to believe it. The vegetables keep rolling out truck after truck. Cauliflower, broccoli, all kinds of onions, carrots, potatoes, cucumbers, strawberries the list goes on and on. Thanks for the comment.

Is the road shown in the video typical of the roads leading into Constanza? Maybe that's why so many people were riding on motor bikes. In several places, there were water channels crossing the road. This could make for very rough traveling after a rainstorm.

Perhaps I missed it but did you happen to mention what road this is? Is this the #12 or 41? We'll be there next year and unsure if we should come in to Constanza from the South or the NE? I assume both routes are equally scenic but maybe #41 isn't as advisable as #12?

Was a simple hotel with clean rooms. Located in the town of Constanza. Hotel Bohio Adress C/Rufino Espinosa #15, Constanza, Republic Dom. Phone 809-539-1645. Hope this helps.
