Thanks Steve...for the "Love" that you send us through "Ghost Wind." To me, it's a healing song...a beacon of light through the darkness. Please send us more...we are all in desperate need.
High Tension Wires was a revelation the first time I listened to it. Every composition a masterpiece. Released in 1989...it has stood the test of time. “Tumeni Notes” and “Country Colors” give further testimony to Steve’s incredible talent and virtuosity. Also, I’m really glad Steve and Dave linked up! What an incredible duo. I’ve recently followed their work in Flying Colors. They sound terrific in that super group as well. I think Steve has been discovered by a whole new group of fans with his playing in Deep Purple. I urge those that know Steve only through DP to discover Steve’s work with the Dixie Dregs, the Dregs, Steve Morse Band, Living Loud, Flying Colors, Anglefire, his work with various other artists. You won’t be disappointed! Promise!
Wow. Listened a lot to this album 20 or so years ago, when i was starting out on guitar and was blown away by the beautiful melodies and the incredible technique. Comming back and listening to it today i really appreciate the composition, every note and chord so masterfully put toghether. What a master piece of an album and what a great composer.
I have met Steve Morse and Dave Larue twice and they are the most genuine, nice, humble people you will ever meet. They took time to answer questions, sign autographs, and talk to the audience. Wonderful people. They even thanked the lousy opening acts which hurt my ears. I will continue to have great respect for them as some of the best musicians and people.
I had a clinic with Steve in Rome in 1999...fantastic teacher and humble guy! He remained with us 1 hour more, signing lot of pictures and shooting lot of pictures. For me too High tension wires is the best album, the second is The introduction. Long life to Steve!!!
heaven and god live in this song and in steve's heart what a joy to behold and listen to reminds me of the summer it came out-1989-the best summer of my life thanks and blessings to steve for writing this song he has never eclipsed high tension wires-a perfect album...a masterpiece!!
I saw these two (and drummer) in Toronto at the Rock n Roll Heaven upstairs in the late eighties. I still have the ticket stub somewhere and I got great pics we were right up front, very memorable his playing fires on all emotions, he's flawless and I left the show awestruck .
The end of this song makes me cry...IDK how he gets that B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-l tone...His Vibrato is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G and points on this tune, sounds like he's playing slide, but he isn't. Dammit Steve, you make me want to burn my geetars. You are the BEST.
Remember when I first heard this tune on the Tension Wires Album,, I was blown away! And I still get the chills when the second part of this song kicks in. The whole album is a truly masterpiece both compositional wise and what concerns the guitar playing.
very nice version, captures the essence of the studio version nicely. seen 'em live a few years back at a music fest in Newport, RI. e-mailed Dave/Steve beforehand and asked if they would play "Foreign Exchange" (off Structural Damage CD) and they did! great technique, loads of soul pouring out. a class act all the way. hope to catch 'em and/or the Dregs again next time they come around....
You can see (and hear) why Steve is one of only 3 guitarists to win "Best Overall Guitarist of the Year" award (rock, jazz, classical, country, etc.) 5 years in a row - Your "retired" from the competition after that. Steve Howe (YES) and Eric Johnson are the others. Dave LaRue is one of the top bass players in the world. Check out: "Steve Morse Band - Live 1990, Full Concert". A professional audio/visual recording at a small venue for a TV show in Germany. Multiple cameras and a great production.
I couldn't even make such a great mistake at 2.08. It's sweet when such a great musician proofs, he is still a human being. I don't mean his technical ability but sense of beauty when improvising. Such talents drop on earth like meteors from above. Steve you are THE BEST!!
His playing is so good that, even after playing that 2:08 section repeatedly, I simply don't hear a mistake. To me it's just Steve doing what he does best - take us on a melodic journey
Between Dixie Dregs and putting together The Steve Morse Band I saw him open up for The Allman Brothers at the Fox in Atlanta. He was alone on stage and I wanted to quit playing guitar buy the time he was done. Jaw dropping.
Not really a mistake just a "dead note" the way his finger hit it but I know what you mean, Steve is such a master and anything less than perfection is extremely rare to hear from him but, as you said he's only human
Not too many instrumentals can bring this kind of sheer emotion. Hits me in the feels every time. One of my favourites from a legend.
Same here. This song brings a tear to my eye. It has such a longing, forlorn sound to it but in an incredibly beautiful way.
Thanks Steve...for the "Love" that you send us through "Ghost Wind." To me, it's a healing song...a beacon of light through the darkness. Please send us more...we are all in desperate need.

Still jamming frequently to "Highland Wedding" and "Ghostwind." Instrumental guitar rarely gets THIS good.
One of my favorite Steve Morse songs from my favorite Steve Morse album.

Greatest guitar player and bass player ever.
This song "punches me right in the heart" really love this song👍🏼
Amazing song, loved it. In fact, my goosebumps had goosebumps.

Obviously when you think of Steve Morse, you remember the blinding runs. He is also a master of harmonics and can make a guitar sing like no one else.
The Steve Morse Band that included Van Romaine and Dave LaRue was the best trio of it's kind, hands down!
Very good album...All songs are great to listen too.
It's amazing how very emotional music can be and "thank you Steve" cuz many of us, "really like this tune too" 👍🏼✌
That is one of my favorite Morse tunes and the 1st time I've seen it live.
Thanks so much!
One of the nicest gentleman I've ever met.
There's nothing that compares. The mix and ambience on the album are orgasmic.

Magician doing magic❣️
2:13 through 2:15 transition is very cool. Indicative of great composition skills. I really enjoy this guy.
Great jamming with deep purple

great performance!!

The most important Guitarist in music history, there I said it.
Between Dixie Dregs and putting together The Steve Morse Band I saw him open up for The Allman Brothers at the Fox in Atlanta. He was alone on stage and I wanted to quit playing guitar buy the time he was done. Jaw dropping.
Just beautiful
esto si que es una obra de arte.....este guaso es demasiadamente groso... un verdadero maestro..Gracias por haber creado esta esta obra maestra.
Masterpiece

Sheer beauty!
...Intense... Thank You..!
It's my favorite too Steve:)
Steve Morse :)
NUNCA VI UMA GUITARRA COM TANTOS CAPTADORES COMO ESSA AZUL QUE ACOMPANHA O STEVE MORSE. SÃO MUITOS SONS DIFERENTES NUM MESMO INSTRUMENTO.
@WoWandMetalFTW Not only excellent but his most brilliant recording to date(imho). From a DD,SM and DP fan since 1979.......
❤❤❤
pretty damn impressive
最高!!

I BOUGHT THE DVD ONE MORE JEW IN MY COLECTION.
He is not jew . I am .
@fourplusseven Unity Gain is a wonderful song. :-)
@Ocapacha2112 Shawn Lane covers The Introduction just like the record, you should check him out.
I just ordered Bring im back alive The Dixie Dregs does that count.
@cliomoxie Because he plays for himself; Not With himself; about himself.
Loved this tune ever since I bought HTW 21 years ago. Shame about the crap camera work. I want to see both his hand close up.
Hilarious
Holy crap !! A mistake at 2:08!!!!!!!! I guess he is human.
+Amelia Maska Yes he is ;-) facebook.com/groups/stevemorse
+Marije Essink one of my favorite song.. a song for my loveones who passed away.. thank you steve for this song..
Ok, have your mistake...I, not a player, missed it...BUT I didnt miss his signature solo at end, taking me to blissland...
Not really a mistake just a "dead note" the way his finger hit it but I know what you mean, Steve is such a master and anything less than perfection is extremely rare to hear from him but, as you said he's only human
Yep he missed it...human after all! Lol.
Sounds like the B string went a little flat. Just a hair.
steve morse is fuckin legend, but is either his B or high E out of tune?
GinGer Liam it's probably "the curse of the B string" if you're a guitarist you know exactly what I'm talking about
