Wanted to make a slight correction here and say that the next video will be coming on Thursday, not Tuesday. This video was originally planned for a Saturday before it was pushed back lol 😅
Maybe with the DLC Expansion Pass; the Galarian Fossils shown in the games the correct Pokémon parts will be shown cuz maybe the islands have the missing/correct parts? 🤔
The only issue I would see with this is that it would result in 16 dex entries of fossil pokemon for this generation. They would be adding 12 entries with the dlc. Maybe, they would add 2 of the fossils with each dlc but, that would still result in way more fossil pokemon than they would normally ever add in a single generation. The only way I could see this happening is if they added the other half of the fossils on the dlc islands but, make them so that they can only be combined with the other dlc fossils. That way, they only add 4 more fossil pokemon. Of course, it would still make it so that you could never actually obtain the correct fossil combination.
Maybe Serperior? That’s the first one that came to mind, especially since both are originally from gen 5. Buuuut we have to take into account that this is gen 8, and Rayquaza, Ekans, and Serperior are not in the region. Only reason Rayquaza will be is due to the dens. And none of them have teeth (maybe ekans, but not that sharp)
The reasoning for dreepy's ghost typing kinda raises another question for me. What dictates whether a Pokemon goes extinct or becomes a ghost? Like, what stopped dreepy's line from becoming fossil?
Fossilization is actually a rare process, so not everything fossilizes. In the case of the Dreepy line, perhaps despite not originally being Ghost type, they had Ghost-y affinities that preserved them differently. There are plenty of pokémon that, despite not being a particular type seem to have particular ties to something they are not typed as. Lugia, for example has a lot of ties to water despite not being water type. I wouldn't be surprised if it were possible to find a Dreepy fossil. At least in the anime, they found a "Mew fossil" which was used to make Mewtwo, despite Mew still being around (although rare). If one found a Dreepy fossil, the one revived would hypothetically be its original type and not have the Ghost typing. Either that or Dragon/Rock if the reviving process slaps rock on to all revived fossil pokémon. Side Note: Galarian Corsola is also mentioned to be ancient, so it seems to be a similar thing to Dreepy. An ancient sea creature that, rather than become a fossil, became a ghost. Maybe it has something to do with the particular area of Galar that seems to cause certain pokémon to become new Ghost-type variants upon extinction.

It's 100% bc of the racial tension and Gamefreak wanted the pokemon games to continue. Anime in general is known for poor decisions in racial stereotypes, where western Americans were cowboys and chew on wheat, Chinese people have big mice teeth, black people rap all the time and are either blue or have big lips... So i see why they just wanted it to end.
@Alex Michael Its not. For the anime it makes perfect sense, you would still have the big lips, long golden hair, and human-like expressions. It wasn't just jynx that was under fire for "black face", Mr. Popo was too. Just like with the porygon epilepsy incident or Uri Geller lawsuit everybody would eventually forget all about it. I think whatever they originally had in mind they changed their mind on later, much like they did kangaskahn and the cubone line being connected. Could be too many pairs, this one wasn't popular enough, something like that.
The discussion over Poipole kinda takes the assumption that everything in its universe runs the same in our known Pokemon universe, which I think is kind of a bold assumption. Like it's definitely a cool thought, but I can't imagine another universe would mirror the one we know to the point where their starter system was the same.
Not to mention the pokedex says "first partner" not anything related to starter. Not every trainer gets a gen starter, they're actually pretty rare pokemon. It might just be that trainer's first pokemon, like wooly with Hop, morpeko with Marnie, ralts with Wally, etc.
If I remember right, I read that the Ultra Recon Squad's version of humanity don't use Pokéballs but instead live alongside their Pokémon. They also don't each have a Pokémon, a partner Poipole will be shared between multiple people.
I seriously hope we get the complete fossils in the DLC, or atleast mix it up and give us for example "top ice + bottom electric" so that we can atleast see what the other halfs looked like without getting rid of the "mixing" gimmick. Maybe even give us the choice to mix or not.
Well clearly there has been no sign of the other halves of each, which would be why we dont have their true forms. But perhaps in the DLC we will see the other halves discovered finally, and be able to see the other combos + the true forms.
I am making a fan game with my friend and smoochum and jynx will have a regional variant and get a regional evolution Edit:they become grass/fairy and are way cuter and cooler
@Pyro Flare from the trailers it looks really cool and definitely makes up for the lack of Legendary/Mythical Pokémon with around 6 revealed and probably more to come
@@alittlekittycat7472 Take Darwin's theory of evolution, where dreepy potentially shrank in size to be less visible to predators, and started taking rides on it's evolved forms because they were so small, making them slower because in their perspective they have a lot further to travel. The same could be said about remoraid, except insted of riding on evolutions it rides mantine, which requires remoraid to evolve from mantyke. this makes extra sense because Charles Darwin was British, probably nodding towards why there are many pokémon that likely aren't the originals, such as corvikight and sirfetch'd evolving around the ancient knigdom of Galar, weezing realising there's enough poison in the air in Galar so it purifies it, duraladon becoming steel to overcome the cold, etc. Remember that there are predatorial pokemon living in the waters of Galar such as gyarados so it makes sense for them to dhrink to be less visible and also turn ghost type to escape the waters.
Wait a second Dreepy's water dragon form could appear as a regional form in a future game only as a fresh water pokemon as opposed to a salt water (thus explaining how it survived) particularly if the game was amazon river based or Australian. Places where ancient life forms survived in isolation. Oooh platypi pokemon....
@@nicholasfarrell5981 it could be fire type and swim in lava. It would be nice if we actually got to see the originally variants like Corsola and Mr. Mime get evolutions along with Jynx. Gamefreak would just have to play it safe and try to not offend anyone. I had a flashback to the guy a few months ago who repeatedly claimed that Jynx already had an Evolution (called "Jynxter") and that it evolved by trade. Finally he posted a link to show what he was talking about and it was just fan art someone had made. He also claimed Slowbro evolved by trading. He posted a link that was a description of an episode in which a Slowpoke evolved into a Slowbro after a Shellder bit its tail, which is not trade evolution. I apologize if I'm being inappropriate by recounting that. I agree it would be good if they gave Jynx an evolution.
@HoopsandHipHop actually the dragon depicted on Runigregases tablet is a traditional rune carving used by the Vikings to describe dragons...it’s a very common one in fact.
Makes sense why we haven’t gotten a regional Jynx also could that be the reason why Belossom was nowhere to be seen in Alola despite it literally being a hawaiian hula girl?
I think we will probably never see Zallow (Zacian and Zamazenta third member) and also Original dragon (Fusion of Tao Trio: Reshiram, Zekrom and Kyurem)
@Pyro flare so just because I hate jynx and mr mine I like Publisify? Did you know people don't have to watch a hypothetical dumbass To dislike a pokemon?
Since ruinerigus is a Norse based pokemon and the dragon has no legs, it could be a lindworm. Rayquaza is a lindworm and looks similar so maybe it's rayquaza?
AbrasAttic true, but they don’t use her much considering how long she’s been around. A shame really, she isn’t one of my favorite Pokémon but I had to catch her because I make it a point to catch them all and use them if I can. They don’t use Kadabra at all (which really sucks) and it’s all because of an overinflated ego. Pokémon has been through too much shit considering how amazing it is as a game. Excuse my language.
I don't know, I'm holding out hope that we will get the complete, correct versions of the Galar fossil Pokemon in a future update/game. There's so much good artwork online of what they could look like that I want to believe it will become a reality some day. Also, just because Poipole is a starter in Ultra Space doesn't mean there are other starters; I just assumed that everyone in that world starts with Poipole, just like how everyone who plays Pokemon Yellow starts with Pikachu.
I don't expect an ancient Dreepy the same way I wouldn't expect the original appearance and type for Genesect prior to Team Plasma reviving its fossil and editing it. Well, unless time travel becomes a major mechanic in Pokémon games.
A point about poipole as a starter. There doesn't necessarily need to be more then one starter. If you recall, not all trainers get starters the same way. Examples include Wally and his ralts, the time nanu gave a kid a choice of three Meowth as a starter, and hop being gifted wooloo/scorbunny from Leon.
I still want a Jynx Evolution. I wish at least Romhacks would add one., there are some pretty great concepts, some like Madanx and one I call Jynx, Kali editon.
Predictions: Runerigus’s dragon painting will be an official pokemon in Gen 9 or 10 If we get a region where Poipole is from, it would be a hidden starter The Galar Fossils should have their other halves in the future Jynx should get an evolution in the future, along with a reigonal form In the future, there should be a pokemon that relates to Dreepy
There won't ever be anything new for Jynx. They don't wanna risk creating another controversy. Pokemon anime still barely ever shows Porygon after the episode "Electric Warrior Porygon" which caused epileptic seizures for Japanese kids watching it. The episode aired like 20 years ago and even today they won't touch Porygon with a 10ft pole.
Runerigus painting seems to be based on viking rune stones featuring a very similar snake. So it might be related to the "savage sea-faring people" Galar Meowth and Perrserker talk about. I'd guess Jynx will be included in the Crown Tundra, and will either have a regional variant, or a G-Max form based on an opera singer.
I've never considered Jynx to be part of a trio with Magmar and Electabuzz, even after the baby forms were added in Gen 2. I've looked at Electabuzz and Magmar as a duo due to their version exclusivity in the gen they were introduced in. I've also seen Jynx as a duo with Mr. Mime for a long time for a lot of reasons, they're the 2 Pokemon that most resembled humans in Gen 1, they're both Pychic types, I think the only way you could get either of them in Gen 1 is if you traded with an NPC, they're both representatives of very niche types of performance art (mimes and opera singers), Mr. Mime has got a baby evolution in Gen 4 that looks pretty similar to Smoochum, and we now even have a regional variant of Mr. Mime that has the same exact typing as Jynx. Even though Game Freak seems eager to stay far away from Jynx lately, I wouldn't be all that surprised if we see Jynx get a regional variant with its own region exclusive evolution in one if the upcoming expansions. Maybe with the isle of armor expansion, maybe it'll be some kind of tropical dancer or something since it kinda looks like the Isle of Armor has a lot of beaches. Maybe it could be something like a Psychic/Fighting type? That could be pretty cool.
I hope we don't see the true forms of the Galar fossils, because then we would ruin the reference to mistakes in early paleontology. Seriously during the early days scientist would do things not unlike what was in the games, minus bringing the fossils back to life.
I have been a part of the Pokémon fandom since its inception, and I am not buying the blackface perception of Jynx. Was Jynx ever portrayed in a negative light? No.
Runerigus's drawing is a Dragapult from before they went extinct. That's why the picture is said to show "horrific memories" in the pokedex- it's the memories of the end of the species and whatever led to them becoming ghosts. This also matches the painting being ancient and possibly a cave drawing like Hoops said.
Runiregus is a rune or ohm stone. Not a tablet. Also Jynx is a Baba Yama, not an actual person. It's literally a youkai, just like Ninetails, and Froslass and Snorunt.
Love the video Hoops. I hope eventually they show us the original Galar fossils and use some of the old designs to update them. Baby meowth must be legit I need a plushie
So, we're just going to ignore the fact that Jynx was designed after the ganguro fashion that was in Japan at the time? Just gonna stick to the blackface explanation without at least giving that as a background for the Pokemon in the first place? I mean, you're not wrong, that was a controversy, but I think it's important to show what GF were going for originally before that changed interest in Jynx entirely.
On the poipole one I have a theory what if in the other world yada yada it was kinda like pokemon yellow where you don't choose ur pokemon the pokemon chooses you
Also I do expect that we’re going to get the other halves of the fossil Pokémon, and they’re going to come in the DLC. The bird and drac fossils we’ll get in The Isle of Armor and the fish and dino fossil in The Crown Tundra. Since two seem to come from somewhere tropical and the other somewhere much colder it’s just to much of a coincidence to not be true.
A Dataminer on twitter by the name Mattyoukhana discovered that in Pokemon Home that Jynx has an unused cry that has the same sound distortion as Mega Evolution, so even if Regular evolution was dismissed, Jynx at some point was likely to have a Mega Evolution.
perhaps they could add new fossil pokemon in the DLC (drake head with bird body, drake head with fish body, dino head with bird body and dino head with fish body.) if they did this I would hope that they each had an evolution (probably with the back half determining the pokemon they evolve into and the front half determining the ability/form) a slightly less realistic hope would be that all of them got an evolution each where they fuse in a slightly more natural looking way
I feel like things like the incomplete fossils, or the original dragon from Unova are things Gamefreak purposely put in for them to expand upon in the eventual remakes
One thing about the whole Ultra Beast world pokemon league idea, it should be noted that the Ultra Megalopolis world's people at least are noted to not train or battle with their pokemon, it's one reason the Ultra Recond Squad goes out to study how the people of the main pokemon world do. They do keep pokemon like Poipole as companions, hence why it may be called a "starter pokemon," but that's about the extent of it.

Its not.
Poison type beats grass
Grass beats ground
Ground beats poison,
Starter trio confirmed
Moltenminer ground ice and rock/steel also works
Same thing with Ice, Steel, and Ground.
Steel beats Ice, Ice beats Ground, Ground beats Steel.
Mr. Monsoon I stuck to poison cause he said poipol is a starter
@Moltenminer thanks for repeating what he said
Moltenminer maybe they can be also 2 stages instead of 3 because poipole is 2 staged
Silvally with that one guy
@@williamb8801 You mean our edgelord and savior, Gladion himself?
If I remember right, I read that the Ultra Recon Squad's version of humanity don't use Pokéballs but instead live alongside their Pokémon. They also don't each have a Pokémon, a partner Poipole will be shared between multiple people.
@@KevinAccetta It could actually be the Pikachu of its universe given it only has one evolution.

Justice for Jinx ✊🏽 give my girl an evolution for the gen 4 remakes 😤
Here's a tip. Play a Rom Hack. Pokémon Vega is highly recommended. Here Jynx has an evolution.

@Pyro Flare from the trailers it looks really cool and definitely makes up for the lack of Legendary/Mythical Pokémon with around 6 revealed and probably more to come
Perhaps the dragon on Runerigis is a representation of what Dreepy looked like in the past
Was thinking this 🤔
No, it's too long and thin for it to be the dreepy line
Ashlei Paginton yeah, the platypus starter Pokémon is a big part of why I want a region based on Australia.
@@nicholasfarrell5981 it could be fire type and swim in lava. You know cause Australia's upside down
Personally I'd have a Kookacurra (can't spell) as the regional bird maybe evolving into a more predatory species. A tasmanian devil as one starter, a fairy type based on a hummingbird and make sure to have a pokemon pair based off the dingo vs Australian working dogs (ground and steel respectively) plus you could do a few other regional variants like zubat being a fruit bat or water/ground or water/dark Krookadile.
@@KestralKuthule those would be cool. I'd also like a bunyip-inspired Dragon-type 'mon in there as well.

It would be nice if we actually got to see the originally variants like Corsola and Mr. Mime get evolutions along with Jynx. Gamefreak would just have to play it safe and try to not offend anyone. He posted a link that was a description of an episode in which a Slowpoke evolved into a Slowbro after a Shellder bit its tail, which is not trade evolution. I apologize if I'm being inappropriate by recounting that. I agree it would be good if they gave Jynx an evolution.
2:17 yeah that dragon on the tablet likely depicts an ancient drawing of Rayquaza
@HoopsandHipHop actually the dragon depicted on Runigregases tablet is a traditional rune carving used by the Vikings to describe dragons...it’s a very common one in fact.

Jynx shows up in the Pokémon TCG a bit, so they haven't really completely stopped using her
AbrasAttic true, but they don’t use her much considering how long she’s been around.
Poipole is the one starter no one chose since 2 are missing and that’s just depressing
You mean like with Celebi's time travel in both the movies and the HGSS special event?
Jynx needs some love.. she's my favorite gen1 :(

@@Haildawn Extra $30. Still cheaper then if they made Sharp Sword and Smooth Shield or something
poipole could be its own starter like pikachu was in pokemon yellow
Cool video, man. A pokemon I wanna see is the true form of Genesect as it looked in pre-historic times.
I always associated Jynx more with Mr. Mime. But he got an evolution now too.
My theory is that the mural on Runerigus is Raquazza
What if they add the other half of the fossils in the DLC
Probably in the Crown Tundra. More intact prehistoric specimens in ice.
I’m loving all of this Jynx love in the comments! ❤️❤️❤️
I still want a Jynx Evolution.
I wish at least Romhacks would add one., there are some pretty great concepts, some like Madanx and one I call Jynx, Kali editon.
there's one in pokemon vega, but the line is only available in postgame.
Maybe because it is a caveman-like painting it is a crude drawing of Rayquaza???
Predictions:
Runerigus’s dragon painting will be an official pokemon in Gen 9 or 10
If we get a region where Poipole is from, it would be a hidden starter
The Galar Fossils should have their other halves in the future
Jynx should get an evolution in the future, along with a reigonal form
In the future, there should be a pokemon that relates to Dreepy
That dragon pokemon could be in the dlc
I figured the drawing was GMax Eternatus
My guess is it’s rayquaza
Couldn't that dragon-serpent just be Rayquaza?
They will never let Mega Mewtwo in a game again. Lmao.

Love this topic!!! Hoops, your upload schedule is fantastic
jynx: no evolution because muh blackface
magmar: evolution with a black face and giant pink lips 8:25
makes sense
Therory: dreepy is a baby dratini that change when it was reborn
I hope we don't see the true forms of the Galar fossils, because then we would ruin the reference to mistakes in early paleontology. Seriously during the early days scientist would do things not unlike what was in the games, minus bringing the fossils back to life.
I have been a part of the Pokémon fandom since its inception, and I am not buying the blackface perception of Jynx. Was Jynx ever portrayed in a negative light? No.
At this point, it's racist that they have excluded her from evolution and the special attention that most other gen 1 pokemon have been given.
Electabuzz
Magmar
Jynx
They're a Trio
Like the 3 birds
Runiregus is a rune or ohm stone. Not a tablet.
Also Jynx is a Baba Yama, not an actual person. It's literally a youkai, just like Ninetails, and Froslass and Snorunt.
The dragon on runerigus looks like a dreepy to me and taking to account that dragapult it is suppose to be an ancient pokemon that might be it
Love the video Hoops.
I mean, you're not wrong, that was a controversy, but I think it's important to show what GF were going for originally before that changed interest in Jynx entirely.
mikevltg3 some people still consider ganguro racist and it’s pretty obvious why.
now i want gen 9 to take place in prehistoric times. I want ancient forms instead of regional forms.

I absolutely definitely enjoy your videos!
Me thinking Dunklevish has stopped the abuse of the fishes head placement. The fact that it’s not real: I’m bouta end this mans whole career.
It has been sorta-confirmed that the unreleased Gigantamax Toxtricity is the geoglyph.
A Dataminer on twitter by the name Mattyoukhana discovered that in Pokemon Home that Jynx has an unused cry that has the same sound distortion as Mega Evolution, so even if Regular evolution was dismissed, Jynx at some point was likely to have a Mega Evolution.
Perhaps the dragon painting on runerigerus is an ancient depiction of what people thought rayquaza looked like.
Hope for proper restorations of the chimera fossils. Maybe even they get evolved forms with a BST that’s more than 505, to show how they’re wrong.
Take a shot every time he says "for one reason or another"
perhaps they could add new fossil pokemon in the DLC (drake head with bird body, drake head with fish body, dino head with bird body and dino head with fish body.)
if they did this I would hope that they each had an evolution (probably with the back half determining the pokemon they evolve into and the front half determining the ability/form)
a slightly less realistic hope would be that all of them got an evolution each where they fuse in a slightly more natural looking way
What if we get the real forms of the fossil pokemon in the DLC?

Amazing video and really informative!!! 😊
I’m glad someone called out that Jynx, Magmar and Electubuz were a trio. Most people just call M & E a duo and completely dismiss her.
