- In celebration of his newly released @audible Original audio memoir, “Break Shot: My First 21 years,“ James sat for this interview with producer Bill Flanagan on February 26, 2020 at The Sheen Center in New York City.
Recorded in his home studio, TheBarn, “Break Shot“ tells his deeply personal story in spoken word and music starting in his youth which is entwined with the story of his family. What started as an idyllic tight unit soon became a family sent to different emotional corners-"like a break shot in the game of pool,“ he says, "when you slam the cue ball into the fifteen other balls and they all go flying off.“

I like his thoughts on his generation, I'm between gen X and millennial and we don't even seem like the same stock of humans, a generation just riddled with violence and mental illness, while the boomers seemed to have this lovely life full of great music

Hey JT, you brought me and my love of a life time together many yrs ago (1984), I've only recently lost him. He was a struggling musician/singer. The one song that attracted me to him was You've Got A Friend, which started a lifelong friendship between him and I. He made lots of money playing and singing, when preforming at his best, he sang and played your songs and also John Denvers. He never made it big, but was really well known in parts of our North Carolina also. Much love to you and your family, please play on my man....🎶🎼🎵🙏👏👋👋👋👋✌️
