I love your reviews man! They're simple and aren't biased the slightest bit. You get straight to the point and you tell what is good and bad. No questions asked. Not to mention your voice is easy to listen to, making the review even better! thanks!
Bruce you knock your reviews out of the park. Easy to listen too , straight to the point, non bias , and I have to say Thank You you do a awesome job. Looking forward to many more of your reviews.
"if you're the criminal type" you crack me up Bruce. Looking forward to the follow on review. Thanks for this one. Enjoy the summer, it's getting cold here on the top of the world.
what a great channel, just getting into fpv with a tbs discovery ,but being here in uk the weather is a bit grumpy so as soon as it brightens up I'm going to get out there , until then i'll be watching these, thanks for all this great advice
Bruce, I'm new to the hobby and have watched many of your videos. they have been very helpful in climbing the steep learning curve of RC, planes, quadcopters and FPV. As always congratulations on a well done video. you are informative, knowledgeable, not to mention animated and entertaining. I like your pull no punches approach "Why did they do that?.... Don't like that at all..... never use that part..... probably just throw it away and use......" Keep up the excellent work
Looking forward to your part II usage review and comparison on the Skyzone goggles. Seems to be a limited market on the goggles in general, and some competition would be very good for us consumers that are trying to decide which to buy.
Thanks for the great review, bring on some decent weather so we can get out there and dominate with some dominators. I've just about worn them out and haven't flown with them yet!
What a great series of videos on this channel! In the last week I've learned more about FPV, quad/hex copters and all the newer gear in that area of the hobby than I'd ever hoped to. Already starting my first quad! Any hints on where to order decent goggles standalone? I have a Tx/Rx set already ordered that I like *you recommened!* that will plug directly into a display, no goggle 'RTF' kit required for me.
you sound like my mother, she used to say "ooh I don't trust him his bloody eyes are too close together" its a real blast from the past and very amusing
Looking forward to part 2. In the process of buying a new set of goggles now. Just got to find the right ones. Like you said they are an investment..... so choose wisely! So hard to decide though??? Wish someone had a set of all of them for me to try in the states.
Bruce, actually the rubber duck antenna which come with this goggles are some of the best I have seen so far. Combined with another linear on the plane I get nearly as far as with CP/SPW as long as you are away from metal objects and buildings... The diversity is a great advantage here...!
Bruce, You said that Fatshark Base has some distortion on the side but you never told us about other goggles? I want to know the details especially about the attitude SD goggles since it got similar FOV as the Base. Thank you. -Roger
found myself nodding when you spoke about the narrow FOV having better quality but not enough vision, i have some cheap teleporter v3's but use my homemade goggles with a 4.3" screen in with a magnifier in, you can see the pixels but its much better field of view and easier to fly
Could you please review the fatshark teleporter goggles. They are the new budget friendly goggles. Can you please talk about them. I know you have used better ones, but I really like the honesty reviews you perform. I would appreciate it you can do it. Thanks for your channel and for always keeping us your viewers up to date on the new in technology. Have a great evening.
I would love to see an updated review of these guys with the new Dominator HD 3s and Skyzone 3D V3. The Skyzone 3D V3 special edition from FPVModel seems like they were built based on this review.
It's 2014, and we are still using 10-20 year old technology, but upgraded a little. I WANT HD FPV :'( i have been wanting to buy an fpv system for 2 years, but i told myself to wait for HD.. Im still waiting. Bruce, how long will we need? You should make a cheap, consumer ready HD system.
Nice teaser you have here. ^^ I'd be really glad if you could do a review on a pair of ECO FPV-goggles, made by FlyingWings as well. I have made a pair, but I'm really keen on seeing how it'll rack up against other various goggles on the market. :) -Cheers from Norway!
Part 2 please Bruce:-) really rate your reviews and am leaning towards these goggles and would value your opinion in there actual use, not bought any fpv equipment yet and these would possibly be my first purchase in my kit as they appear to incorporate a lot of features that other goggles do not feature eg the on board camera, also glass lenses etc. Could you also explain how telemetry is displayed in the view finder as have not been able to find much about this feature and what you consider are the best setup if you are thinking of this system. ATB Jez
Hey Bruce , the Attitudes do have headtracking in them (standard) , and if you got them in the last few months it will have the nextwave reciever in it (not the old airwave reciever)
Thanks for all your videos Bruce, but (contrary to what you said in this video) the FS Attitudes have the nextWave video receivers and are nearly twice as sensitive as the earlier models. This detail might, in my opinion, be worth correcting or adding an errata into the video.
Bruce, you gave more information about those goggles by flashing the lens side at your camera than the whole Skyzone marketing video gave :D.. Are you able to take some decent shots of the optics? From the glance you gave they appear to be reflective glass optics just like the dominators?
Well I purchased the Dominator V2 but they are in pre-order. They are white though and have interchangeable receiver modules. I can't wait till they arrive as I was interested in the SkyZones until I read a few too many bad reviews. So I hope to see a review on the latest Dominators by this experienced reviewer..
Hi there. Thank you for your cheerful informative videos. I am looking into starting this hobby and adding it to my Trex 500 heli.I see there is a a kit from Fatshark, the Teleporter V3. Do you know anything about this setup and is it worth buying. Many thanks. Look forward to your comments. Regards Hugh
Hey Bruce in the back ground you have a nice set of screwdrivers and Allen wrenches. What kind are they. I bought some turnigy Allen wrenches from hobby king a while ago and they are crap. I need a good set.
Congrats, finally somebody knows how to do a review...just a question...should I be able to plug them to other appliances such as android phone or my PC and how? thanks
Very interested on how these goggles compare to the fatshark attitudes. Will it get more range with the same power TX and is the picture clearer/sharper vs the attitude.
I'm looking forward to the 32 channel receiver. Bruce, please make the video soon, I might buy some so you could same me some money or make me spend some, haha
Bruce, love your work I have been waiting for a informed and technical review on the different FPV headsets. Could you possibly do a Oculus rift conversion/review? I think they will give you the best of both worlds imagine a full field of view and 1080p when the commercial version is released (development kit is still 720p so still very good). Either way I am still looking forward to the review. Could you also do a little more on the FrSky Taranis please, possibly the antenna modification? Thanks
how has nobody mentioned he's review goggles and he just said he hadn't used them? I can ready the spec sheet. I want your opinion on quality, build and reliability...
Hi, I just start looking around for FPV goggle. and I saw your video. I wonder do I need wear contact lense. I used my friend fatshark v3 but no way to neither wear my glass or adjust the focus. I see blurred images. I notice you are wearing glasses as well. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks
Bruce, I've never done FPV before, so some of your explanations have me scratching my head. If I'm wrong in these observations...please correct me. Isn't it a fact that the "Field of View" is totally dependent on the FOV created by the camera's lens up in the plane? In these FPV glasses, if you're talking about a wide FOV, aren't you saying that the display screens are mounted closer to your eyes?. Isn't it a little like sitting in the front row of a movie theater, vs. the back row? The picture in the front row is wider and maybe more immersive, but that doesn't mean the actual FOV of the horizon of the picture is changing (widening). I contend the FOV of the camera lens has much more to do with the ultimate immersiveness. That's why the makers of Go Pro and Lawrence of Arabia used wide angle lenses. I do understand how a the 16:9 screen will stretch a normal 4:3 picture across a wider expanse of screen. After all, I think these are analog (not digital) signals...so any analog horizontal trace line will naturally fill the entire width of the screen.
Hello RCModelReviews, What is the name of the first version of Fatshark ? Now that I have watched your review, I want one of them. Thanks for the info !
You do great reviews man. I'm getting into Fpv and I'm torn between sky zone googles and the fayshark attitudes. Which one do you find better and do the sky zones have head tracking?
regarding the aspect ratio of 16 : 9. There are cameras which have the same ratio (ie) the 808 #16 keycam (which can be switched between 4 : 3 and 16 : 9). It might be worth also doing flight tests with camera set to 19 : 9 to see how it performs.. rather than with a 4 : 3 camera (most cameras).
Even though I have never heard of goggles failing from overheating, but I agree, goggles should really be made white or some light color! Foxtech kind of has a window of opportunity to change that too since these were just released.
I don't know what dominators you have but my eyecups never fall out and I know a lot of people that they do not fall out either. The eyecups are more comfortable than the base version foam, which is a personal thing between person to person. Also check out the new FatSharks with WVGA too, and wider FOV!!!
Absolutely... So these must be older models! Just saying lets not put that as a con when it's no longer applicable! But as always good knowledge and reviews on this channel!
Hi. I'm going to get the sky zone FPV goggles/glasses but I don't know if it's compatible with my drone. I'm getting the plexidrone when it comes out. Do you know if they're compatible?
The FOV is 35 degrees in these goggles. Bruce I'm not following you about the complaint about directional antennas in this case. You have diversity just for that reason, use 1 directional and one omni for 360 coverage, and it won't matter where you look. That is the whole point of the diversity, it will choose the best. The benefit being the directional will be a better signal when the craft is in front of you. If your biggest complaint is that they're black, then I'd say they're pretty good :)
When you get some distance between you and the model and are relying on the directional antenna for siginal as soon as you move your head away diversity isnt going to help you.
Shane T Well if you tend to move your head around during FPV a lot then maybe that wouldn't be a good option for you. I'm not sure why you'd be moving your head around? Personally I've flown this way many times and it works just fine. If you start to lose signal because of head drift, simply turn your head a little. I've been out a few KM with this very setup.
Hey love your videos got a question for you I have the fatshark transporters googles and when I try and fly my dji phantom it goes into failsafe and lands. I think it's on the same channel how do you change the channel so it doesn't interfere with my dji transmitter.
Despite the features, how would you rate the image quality of the Skyzones to the Dominators? Looking to upgrade from my predator V2's and I am mostly interested in overall crispness (being able to see small detail) and quality of video.
I know you are not supposed to run video receivers with out antenna, so do both antenna connectors need to have the antennas on even if you just want to use one or video in ? Thanks
there is no problem with running a receiver without an antenna - obviously range will be decreased to a few centimeters, but it will not damage the rx to leave an antenna out.
I am knew to all of this. Once I purchase these goggles, how do I have them work with the camera on the drone or helicopter? If I am using the DJI Phantom 2 Vision, do I just run it through HDMI out of the ipad?
Bruce. We need goggles that are white, goggles that are not joined solid in the centre so you can adjust them for wide eyes or criminal narrow eyes, we need 1.2Ghz and 5.8Ghz diversity RX, Front camera, wide HD field of view, stereo audio, Video in and out and head tracking. why is this not done yet? We certainly have the technology..
Everything but wireless HD video TX & RX. You may say "but what about over the air HD TV?" The over the air signal is digital, not analog, so when there is interference or a weak signal, the image can freeze or break up entirely. With the analog video system used by FPV, when the signal is weak or there's interference, the video can lose color and get snowy or otherwise degrade, but you can still see where you're going. That said, Immersion/FatShark say they're working on analog wireless HD video transmission for FPV.
sloperdude the biggest problem with digital HD video is latency, which is easy in range of a second due to cross-frame temporal encoding. No one will buy 1+sec latency system for FPV, it really has to be lower than 0.2sec. Then, analogue HD is not a good idea because you need a lot of frequency space, and that also means higher sensitivity to interference. (not to mention licensing issues). We will get low latency HD digital video eventually (i have seen a promising codec developed) but it is not going to be cheap. FPV equipment is already not cheap, meaning that the market for low latency HD FPV will be miniscule . . . .
Why did u not have the fatshark v2 googles that what I use are they better then the first fatshark googles or same? If I use the gopro camera will it be better in my googles ?
What would you suggest if I'm using it with my DJI Phaontom 2 with a GoPro Hero3? I would love to view what the camera views if at all possible. Any suggestions?
Hi, i am new in fpv, but i build quads for LOS flying. Now i want my first goggles and i have watched a few reviews from you and other people. I am still don't know which to get. I was thinking of the skyzone vs dominator V2. Which one do you think is worth? thanks.
G'day thanks again for the great videos I have a question I've chosen the sky zone fpv googles but I want to all so run 900 Mhz along with the 5.8g that is built in Will I be able to to use the 900mhz for longer range and feed the signal into the sky zone googles ? Thanks for your help Ps if I can't what googles will do that ?
I think if you get into this hobby, and if you have a budget, get the best equipment, don't spend the time with the cheapest. That happen to me, so anyway i follow all your videos and just need a little help to choose my new goggles , skyzone or atttitude?
Hello! First of super great videos 😊 I have a question I have a SkyZone video glasses which is new but I have a problem that the screen by a bar sec black or gray where can I repair what can be there? The front cam goes. Maybe she could help me so thank you in advance lg further
Nice and look forward to #2 I sold my dominators cause I just don't like to be closed up still flying by the screen which works for me would like a bigger screen. The button for front camera just might sell me, will see..!! Depends on cost..!!
I love your reviews man! They're simple and aren't biased the slightest bit. You get straight to the point and you tell what is good and bad. No questions asked. Not to mention your voice is easy to listen to, making the review even better!
thanks!
Yea, I understand Bruce just fine, but I can see why people complain he talks too fast. hahahaha
Bruce you knock your reviews out of the park. Easy to listen too , straight to the point, non bias , and I have to say Thank You you do a awesome job. Looking forward to many more of your reviews.

Great reviews. Keep up the good work. Looking forward to seeing the video footage of each goggles.
I really enjoy these videos, great overview and the wealth of knowledge of all things electronics really comes through. Keep em coming :)
Love your work Bruce, don't ever stop.
Hi Bruce. I'll be waiting for the part 2.
Cheers from Brazil.
I wouldn't mind being first in line when you decide you have to many pairs of goggles and want to give away one. ;)
Got mine last week and went out for the first time FPV and i'm loving it!
The goggles camera is a really good idea!
Looking forward to your part II usage review and comparison on the Skyzone goggles. Seems to be a limited market on the goggles in general, and some competition would be very good for us consumers that are trying to decide which to buy.
Great. just about to buy a set. your review will prevail. cant wait!

The best RC teacher in the world. I am a big fan
It's almost summer here in Melbourne too . . we had our Ducted Heating on yesterday :'(

Hi, thank you for your review! I am looking forward to your field-test.
Wow looks like FS has turned it up a notch with the new white model. Interesting indeed.
Great informative video, just what I was looking for! Many thanks

Lol, it would be really hard for hd fpv. You would need a really good system to counter act the lag, and a really good system for the range
Nice teaser you have here. ^^
I'd be really glad if you could do a review on a pair of ECO FPV-goggles, made by FlyingWings as well. I have made a pair, but I'm really keen on seeing how it'll rack up against other various goggles on the market. :)
-Cheers from Norway!
I love the ECOs, and I'm also curious for a comparison. So pls Bruce build your own googles!

Nice Job on the comparison of the Fat Sharks - does the new piece come with a transmitter and what about the battery - where does it fit.
Thanks

Excuse my ignorance, but is there any reason one could not mask, prime, then spray paint black goggles white?
Still have mine and still love them.
My brother has got the rift and the experience is total immersion and is really amazing
3D white vinyl wrap is great to cover your goggles and keep things cool
Hi Bruce, another great video thanks. Just one question, did you release the FPV backpack KIT ?: would love to order one or two
Do any FPV goggle allow for two discrete inputs, one for each eye? 3D FPV would be a very cool idea.
+dimmddr1 yes www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__90687__Skyzone_2D_3D_5_8GHz_FPV_Goggles_W_40CH_Raceband_Receiver_H_Tracking_V2_600mW_VTX_and_3D_Camera.html
Cool!
I'm looking forward to the 32 channel receiver. Bruce, please make the video soon, I might buy some so you could same me some money or make me spend some, haha
Do any of these goggles allow the use of connecting to a standard dvd/dvr player as in virtual glasses?
Got my Skyzones, there great , love the wideangle too.
Love your videos, you keep it interesting, every time I go to watch one I think in my head oh this is my buddy! Lol
Good video! Lots of good information for us beginners. ;)

I think what they mean with the 120° FOV on the SkyZone is the front mounted camera, not the displays.
Very interested in the results, though I'm already gone with the Dominators with all ImmersionRC stuff, we'll see if I was right or not :)
i'm happy with mine. using the head tracker plugged into the immersion ez uhf tx directly.
Hello RCModelReviews, What is the name of the first version of Fatshark ? Now that I have watched your review, I want one of them. Thanks for the info !
Can you have a look at the really cheap ones on ebay i wonder how good they are
Where do you get support for these goggles? Mine have stopped working and they haven't even been used much.
I got a set of V2s today. They were manufactured May this year so hopefully the will come with improved receiver?
You do great reviews man. I'm getting into Fpv and I'm torn between sky zone googles and the fayshark attitudes. Which one do you find better and do the sky zones have head tracking?

Hi. I'm going to get the sky zone FPV goggles/glasses but I don't know if it's compatible with my drone. I'm getting the plexidrone when it comes out. Do you know if they're compatible?
couldn't it be posible to spray those black glasses with white plastidip spray? just a tought...

Hey love your videos got a question for you I have the fatshark transporters googles and when I try and fly my dji phantom it goes into failsafe and lands. I think it's on the same channel how do you change the channel so it doesn't interfere with my dji transmitter.
Is it possible to use a dx8 transmitter and fly fpv with the fatshark goggles?
hi never had a fpv so what do you need to put on your drone to that will fit the glasses and what rang do you get
Bruce, are the skyzone sma or rp sma didn't see it listed on there site? Thanks mate!
They have SMA connectors.

Silly question: are they any good for people who wear glasses
Zeis has a line of fpv goggles, they got a dial on it for it to go op to +5 and -5

That said, Immersion/FatShark say they're working on analog wireless HD video transmission for FPV.

the biggest problem with digital HD video is latency, which is easy in range of a second due to cross-frame temporal encoding. FPV equipment is already not cheap, meaning that the market for low latency HD FPV will be miniscule . . . .
With the 1st pair. Can I use a 5000mah 3s. Cheers
Any suggestions?
question, what is your glass strength ? mine is 2,75 left, 4,75 right.
Quesntion is, will it still work?
Hi,
i am new in fpv, but i build quads for LOS flying. Now i want my first goggles and i have watched a few reviews from you and other people. I am still don't know which to get. I was thinking of the skyzone vs dominator V2. Which one do you think is worth? thanks.
What is the name on those goggles besides fat shark and flysky?? What name??
G'day thanks again for the great videos
I have a question I've chosen the sky zone fpv googles but I want to all so run 900 Mhz along with the 5.8g that is built in
Will I be able to to use the 900mhz for longer range and feed the signal into the sky zone googles ?
Thanks for your help
Ps if I can't what googles will do that ?
Can you paint them white etc or do you need a special paint that will stick to the plastic/rubber..??..Rgds...Laurie
Maybe I could wear a hat.
Hello which set of goggles are the best adjustable for us larger head fellas???
I think if you get into this hobby, and if you have a budget, get the best equipment, don't spend the time with the cheapest. That happen to me, so anyway i follow all your videos and just need a little help to choose my new goggles , skyzone or atttitude?
