    17:23 breaststroke kick 'burns less oxygen'.👌👍

      Breaststroke for most people that I teach is the better kick to use. However, butterfly kick, if done properly can be faster and very efficient. It really is an individual preference thing as to what kick is better for the individual.

      @@jeffutsch2299 so we can say that it depends on 'one's strength' and how much power he/she has? right?

    Wait...so the 50 yrs underwater swim test is 25 yards and then freestyle 25 yards before another 25 underwater? I thought it was 50yrd all underwater? I've been struggling trying for over a year and coming up short on the first 25yrd so thank you so much for this video!! I'm gonna try it. (ok...saw that someone else asked.) I'm trying to qualify for an advance scuba diving for the Department of Park and Recs in California and they require a 50 yrs underwater swim test. sigh....I feel like my body is too old but my spirit wants to try... so here goes..

      BUDS training requires a 50-meter underwater swim. PJ school requires 5 x 25 yard/meter underwaters followed by a 25 freestyle recovery getting down to a 90 second interval. So, it depends on what you are training for.

    16:20 So successful underwater swimming is about 'being calm and natural'?

    • @jeffutsch2299
      @jeffutsch2299 Месяц назад +1

      I think it's learning the skill set so one can be relaxed and competent.

      @@jeffutsch2299 Yes, you mean 'learning and mastering the skills then calmness itself comes'?🙂 Right?🙂

      keep practicing. Proper form even if a little harder at first. Over time will become easier with technique down.

    Isn't it 50 yards?

    • @jeffutsch2299
      @jeffutsch2299 Год назад +1

      Yes, at BUDs it is a 50m underwater swim. Pararescue is a number of 25 meter underwaters and then a 25m freestyle swim back on short rest. Technique here is what you should practice for any underwater swim training
