Thank you for this series. PNW resident but never dug the ducks. Buddy and I took our boat on July 5th to a boat access beach. We were able to harvest 5 geoducks, and shuck 3 dozen fresh oysters. Will be doing both your recipes plus a SE Asian chowder with coconut milk.
I have not had this type of clam before, but looks interesting 👀😂. I love seafood...so I would definitely try it. Can’t wait to see the next video for preparation. You’re awesome and I miss you in TV!!
gooey Drewy, excellent video, sir. I didn't know you could farm raise these things! It would be interesting to learn how they do that as well. Maybe a video of you visiting the geoduck farm should be in order?
I am so happy to have stumbled across this! I absolutely loved watching Andrew!! The one I don’t think I could eat is the stuff from what he calls the poop chute hahaha the poo jellybeans
Omg andrew! I would never have recognized you! Omg! Seriously you could have walked right by me and I would never have recignuzed you! The beard is just an incredible thing for the male human. Incredible trabsformation
Well if you had to do 50 clams, that torch is out of the window. Double pan steam them for 60+ seconds and capture the juice in the bottom pan. Job is done fast and efficient.
The name comes from a PNW Native American word, and the spelling doesn't always make sense to English users. We have many Native American place names here, and the spelling confuses just about everyone who doesn't live here.
@@r.awilliams9815 we have the same in the Chesapeake Bay region, but they’re limited to things like WeecoMeeco versus WHY-comico for Wicomico County. Spelling is good, pronunciation is up for grabs.
Andrew, Come dig one, two, or three with us. We'd love to host you. You've got an open invite however you'll have to clean all of them. I have a great Geoduck Piccata recipe served beach side. I agree the Panopea generosa (geoduck) is the BEST CLAM in the World. They are commercially farmed, like the ones you're preparing, in my backyard.
There are SO many jokes to be made here. So many… Literally every sentence he said, my brain involuntarily responded with a dirty lil’ jokey-joke. What’s wrong with me 😩 I’m sorry y’all. lol
I’ve cooked and eaten many such animals in the clam family, and other critters within the crustaceans of the oceans, but never killed them with a blow torch..... Frankly, you’re not as good as you think you are as an experienced cook.....
I cringed every single time he put the knife inside that thing. The way he peeled the top skin..... Oh my God! It even have balls and I swear I saw some goey thing coming out of the tip of that thing..... I am not joking. 😑 I would stay 100 miles away from women who eat this thing..... 😮😅

I never knew such a creature lived on this planet until I watched your old Bizarre Foods show so long ago. Thanks for the knowledge Andrew.
One of my favorite clams to eat and things to clean as a fishmonger. Great video for people to give it a go on their own
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
My wife saw the thumbnail and said “ I knew he’d get around to eating THAT! Lol
Amazing as always! Will try Geoduck some day.

Interesting choice of background music.
He gets to tell the jokes. Subtle but funny. lol

What's the background music?
God it's good to see you again. Subscribed and excited to catch up on videos I missed.
Thanks for subscribing! We've got some cool stuff coming up.

You’re becoming more and more Santa-like with the every next episode
Dude! How do you do this without laughing?
Love these videos! I have so many foods that I need to try!
gooey Drewy, excellent video, sir. I didn't know you could farm raise these things! It would be interesting to learn how they do that as well. Maybe a video of you visiting the geoduck farm should be in order?
Not sure if there's a vid of Andrew farming them butt there's one of Mike Rowe Dirty Jobs farming them.
I'm such a big fan been watching since bizarre food
Is there a more humane way to kill one, other than using a blowtorch or boiling water?
I don't think I could clean one of these without giggling.
hahaha......i think I just lost my innocences
I don’t find sex joke funny because they were so repetitive in 7th and 8th grade that it now feels stale and predictable
@@ramencurry6672 no one asked what you found funny. :D
@@glaces.5591 you really thought it was funny?
Same 😂
I have no idea how you did this with a straight face!
Thanks for these Andrew. You're one of the only people I'd ever trust to show me how to prepare some of these more exotic ingredients.
"no jokes people........" too late Andrew. Way,way too late.
Verdade
Now I'm curious when your next video, where you prepare them, will be on here. ;) time to go to Pike's
Just found a response below. See ya next week.
I haven't been able to find one😔. I would love to eat with you one day, you are my favorite foodie
They are super fast. Better to just order it
I am so happy to have stumbled across this! I absolutely loved watching Andrew!! The one I don’t think I could eat is the stuff from what he calls the poop chute hahaha the poo jellybeans
Can’t find the video of how to slice it up!
I will be posting it next week!
Same here

I wonder when during the process that thing stopped screaming in clam
Beard is looking on point
Love these. So lucky they live by me
Omg andrew! I would never have recognized you! Omg! Seriously you could have walked right by me and I would never have recignuzed you! The beard is just an incredible thing for the male human. Incredible trabsformation

Here in Mexico we call them almeja chiluda or almeja generosa for the resemblance with the male bits
What delicious dishes do you make with them in Mexico?
Does it feel pain?
Yo como q imGino lo q aste quiere dicir. Pero no como je le ocurre semejante vaina cumpa!
Why is it pronounced Gooey-Duck, when it’s spelled Jee-oh-duck? 🤔

Thank you Andrew Zimmerman Israel 👍👍👍👍
I'm 100% sure 100+ jokes will be made on this video brother LMAO
Good afternoon chef, could you make a video cooking "callos?" is very typical in Spain of Madrid, a greeting

I thought they rise above the water to breath and you just pull them out.
😍😍😍

Well, that just happened!!

Ok Andrew, is this what they refer to as food porn?
Where’s your Pliers? “Clam Circumcision.”
OMG, the blowtorch seems quite brutal. Maybe a few seconds in boiling water before torching? Eek!
Love to know about these though. Thank you
Call the moyle
wow Geoduck clam , eat it raw sashi style, lightly boiled.... grilled...
"Like slowly taking off........."
Slower.
The beard suits you. Don’t shave.
I can't believe I spent my english on a video on how to clean something that looks like a penis KKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK
Interesting, we just use a sharp knife to take the skin off.
So many innuendos ( ͡👁️ ͜ʖ ͡👁️)
Hay you just been In hiding?🥰
It’d be much easier to put it in the boiling water for a few seconds. Obviously, you are doing it first time in your life 😂😂😂
😏😏😏😤😤😤
Never. Ate it
Those us who live in Seattle laugh at the "Gourmets" who eat these darn things. They taste like stale rubber erasers
Please stop referring to the siphon as a snout. And they don't use it to breathe air, they are aquatic, they get their oxygen from the water.

Thanks for giving us relevant content 🙄
Sustainable but not sustainable for my wallet.
Jajajajaja
Cool subject, but sloppy camerawork.
This is oddly errotic
No thanks
Last thing i will eat on Earth ...
You really have to be very very hungry ...😣😖🤐🤐...looks more like a p....isss already decompose
You know there's a much easier way to do that, right? Cleaning and skinning the clam? But okay... you do you.
