PG's John Bohlinger grabs his PRS hollowbody, Hahn T-style, and a vintage Les Paul Custom to properly tussle with the new 6V6-powered, 100-watt beast.
(Shot with Samsung Galaxy S7 and Beastgrip Pro + Wide Angle Lens and a Rode VideoMic Directional Video Condenser Mic)
Sounds fantastic. That Les Paul is UNREAL!
John Bohlinger is the best Rig Run Down interviewer. Better than a guitar player.
Thank you Vlad, You are too kind,
I forgot to say that you are an exceptional guitar player.
Sometimes I hit, sometimes I miss. But I always enjoy it. thank you
Even a miss sounds cool.
Vladimir Medvedev Rebecca was much better to look at though .. 🙃
Why can I like this video only once? I know, I'm biased because I'm a big fan of Two-Rock amps... but I can't help myself. I bought a Two-Rock last year and it was the best purchase I made for a long long time. I play it every day and it's always a real pleasure. So I'm considering to add a second Two-Rock to the collection (not immediately now because I have other priorities, but later on), and I just hesitate between the TS1 and this new Bloomfield Drive...
Phil Smith ... ivr thought that many times .....why just once.....not fair. What if i really really like something
Get multiple phones ,ha jk
sounds great John ,
thank you sir
Great sounding amp and demo. Thanks.
FYI: Bloomfield is a tiny little town very near the other tiny town of Two Rock Ca where they got their names. Next they will come out with the Two Rock Cotati. Cotati Ca. is where the Two Rock amp was born in the nineties just down the road from Mesa Engineering/Boogie in Petaluma Ca. All kinds of the best high end music gear comes from Sonoma County Ca. Apogee, EMG, Alembic, Voodoo Labs, SIT Strings, Shubb Capos, Dunlop Mudslides, Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab, RAM Speaker Cabinets.......just to name a few among many.
Yes, and the Burnside is named after Burnside Rd., in Sonoma County.
cosmo naut .......Excellent information, as I'm not familiar with their whole lineup of amps. But.......I have been all over Burnside Rd. It has a great view at the hilltop of the Santa Rosa valley and the Westerly views towards the coastal valleys near the Bodega area about 10 miles away. It's a high view from Sebastopol. Maybe they're going to come out with the "Two Rock Bodega" lol!! Cool amp names for days in SoCo. Thanks for the great comment friend.
Thanks for sharing!! Love the stories behind gear, products names, etc. Rock on RUHDD4HVN!!!!
Been loving these demos - great playing to!
John...I totally dug your article about the hair dye in the mag and wondered how it would end. Just thrilled to see that you have made the change (you got me thinking about doing it myself). Looks much better my brotha. NOW...the tone. I AM ABSOLUTELY F'ING OBSESSED WITH THIS TONE. Seriously. I have a Friedman JJ-100 on order and a Germino and Matchless in my stable and I can't stop thinking about this video. Hell, I don't even usually like P-90's...but you my friend worked sheer magic with this rig. Great tone from a great player. I'm sure I'm responsible for 50% of the views. KEEP IT UP.
Thanks so much John!!!! My 50 watt Bloomfield head arrives tomorrow!!!!! Can't wait to piss off the neighbors....lol. Your reviews matter and you are a tremendous asset to Premiere, which is the only guitar mag I subscribe to these days. Cheers and all the best to you!!!!
I really like the concept of these casual first look videos but it would really be nice to have a mic for John. The room mic approach is good but a good mic would be better too.
Hot damn , that opening was Santana approved goodness
gus dupree better than Santana I'd say, and I'm an s fan
DiMeola !!
those alnico customs sound awesome
Great playing and tone John! You're getting gray kid!
John's still on house arrest 🤣
And he has the grey hair!
Incredible sounding amp..God that IS the sound i have been trying to get for years....great playing John
Have to date been impressed with the tone Two Rock amps muster and this model appears no less the case.
Will there Ever be a John bohlinger rig rundown? You rock John!
chris wahle well we get to see his guitar collection , it ain't bad
Here's one we did with John and his bossman Lee Brice: ruclips.net/video/yus1-coYimI/видео.html
Great sounding amp. I love my Two Rock Type 3 amp. It is as close to a Dumble you can get without paying the price of a Dumble.
John, you were born to Rock !!! 👍🎸👏✌️😎
Hi to all. Since units you are reviewing are real deal, it is needed to have separate mic for you as speaker and separate one for amp. It is a extra effort but you, your playing and gear deserve it, in MHO
Fuck me. That's some fine playing, a great amp and a sweet les Paul
Great as usual JB!
... and FYI , I set up a Kickstarter campaign to get you a new pair of Converse Chuck Taylors...
It’s the least we could do for all that great playing..😁
Everything sounded great but the strat sounded awesome through it, just my opinion, of course.
My mondaymornings are worse than yours. I never play such topamps at the beginning of the week. Nor at the end... ;-) Great demo. Sounds very responsive. One of the best fusionamps I've heard.
Nice playing, sounds awesome 👏
Dam... great tone!
Very cool!
John! Dude! C'mon... I watch you every week in EVERYTHING that you post on youtube. I'm a 40+ year guitar player, and you're one of my Top 7 guitar player personalities on youtube that I must watch. I even have that app that when I turn on my computer, it shows me your latest posting. I just saw you a few days ago,...so, WHEN DID YOUR HAIR TURN COLOR?? Don't get me wrong, you look great, even more distinguished (and younger) than Clooney! Just a little sudden from my perspective..lol. Btw, can't wait for the Trower posting. Not a week has gone by since 1974 that I haven't either listened to Bridge of Sighs in my vehicle, or at home, or on youtube, and/or played any or all the songs off that record on my guitar. We even play 2 of his songs un-plugged (In This Place and About to Begin) in our band, plus 2 electrics. Hope Robin plays for us a bit.. Thanks, as always, for posting.
Thank you Tone Seeker., You are too kind, amigo mio. I renounce hair dye on my last birthday and wrote my premier guitar column about it. Here's a link, www.premierguitar.com/articles/27036-last-call-be-where-you-belong
Sweet axe and amp. 👍
John your the coolest
I hope they make a 35 watt version like the Studio Pro. Then it would be more affordable for a wide audience. Now it's only for professionals and rich people. The 40 watt combo should have been a head.
how are they getting 100 watts out of those 6v6's are you guys certain that its not 6l6's and 6v6's in the combo? Great job the amp sounds amazing
Mr. Bohlinger - is that a genuine vintage Black Les Paul Custom you played here? All good and very nice! Thanks!
Nom De Plume it is , it's my favorite out if his stash
gus dupree Nice! If there was one Les Paul I'd like to have in my possession it would be one of those...
Yes, 62 years old and just hitting its prime. That neck pickup....yeaaa
Excellent stuff - Play on!
To me this amp would be perfect for Keith and Ronnie in the Stones.
Well, it would be IF . . . it said 'Ampeg' on the front :)
That lick at 1:10 is pretty sweet.
Love the content of the videos, just wish you would go back to a real recording chain. The top notch gear you review is not done justice with the current mic setup you have moved to. Can we get the real mic's back please ?
Wes Boggs they haven't gotten rid of them, they just added these "first look " demos, in about a month you'll see that acid flashback room
dat staple doe
Love it. And, since I just happened to find $4,000 under my couch cushion.....
The gray looks better. Fuck that dye. Awesome pricey amp.
How many testicles will I have to sell to be able to afford this amp?
three.
"Woo, man!"
I better hear my fav phrase, scoop thr mid wierdos, if not I'm coming for you Johnny boy
Is that John Bohlinger's dad?
I'd love Two-Rock to release a 40/20w Head.
You can order this in a 40/20 watt Head ;-)
TwoRockAmplifiers good news, I thought it was only for "Custom" orders... (which could also mean custom prices :( ).
I understand it's pretty much the same Amp and I wouldn't expect it to be cheaper, as long as it's not more expensive.
It's just to have a wattage that would be exploitable at bedroom/Studio/Small venues volumes. My TR 35w is more than loud already. I wouldn't mind to have a Bloomfield Drive 100w... as long as it could be turned down to 50, then 10 and maybe even 1w.
That's also why I love my SP35+ even more than a CRS or TC, because of the loop return level acting as a master volume. I can get it cranked at bedroom volume ... and it sounds lovely.
Dang that puppy looks and sounds tasty. If it were a sack of gonjia it would also smell good and be called Labrador. Have a good one buddy
What scale/mode does he plays in the beginning??!
it's got 4 x 6L6 power tubes, not 6V6
For the life of me I can’t see two rock as anything other than the amp to have to play the ‘taxi’ theme.
Sounds great - a bit too much reverb....
did u get a hair trans?
Tasty!
The Black Beauty kills...
I’d love to be your neighbour haha
1:16 what the hell was that!
too much middle for the royal ear.
2024 and I still don't get why do people keep uploading videos of amps that are not mic'd up, they are useless for other than bragging about a nice guitar and amp.
