Thank you dude. I watched this because my latch rotated too far & I couldn't close trunk. Because he showed the new latch, my grandson who is ten helped me. He pried 1 direction while I lifted that plunge thing. Worked wonderfully.

I have replaced latch as instructed and plugged all in its place. Window pops open but new latch doesn't pop open as it should? Where else do I need to trace the issue? Thanks for the video! it helps a lot. detailed thoroughly!
Excellent. You showed me in less than 4 minutes what other took over 12 minutes to show. And even told me where to get the part which saved me money. Only problem I had was screws holding on actuator had threadlock and I had to drill them out as I was stripping them with the T25. Amazon will have my part in 2 days and I can put it back together.

Hey help me out if you will please . I bought a new use hatch from a junk yard for my 11 mariner and now I cant get the latch and the window latch to work . Should I just use the latch from the old one I already changed the window no luck. Hopefully you have a idea. Thanks

I would guess you will need to climb in the back and pull the inside panel off. I have an escort that I had to climb in the back seat and pull the seat out and the pull the panels off to get the door to open.

@@JUSTTRYITDIY can I get to the panel with out opening up the glass door. In your video looks like you have to open up the door a glass I mean to get to pull off the panel my dash keeps telling me that my glass is ajar, but it is actually closed and I can’t get it open
I am GUESSING that the plastic goes around the latch for the glass but if you can open the door and pull the plastic cover off at the bottom of the door you should be able to reach up and get to the latch for the glass, and release it.

Unbelievably poor design by Ford that there is no interior release when the electric lock fails, without taking things apart! On my '02 Escape, when the lock won't release, you can't open glass or the hatch.

2 of the 3 screws holding in the latch stripped . Any suggestions. I was using the T25 hex socket.

before completely installing another one try plugging it in and see if it works before going through all that work
Is there a way to open it if you can't manually get the actuator switch to move up?

not sure about the seat issue. i guess double check the fuses first. hope that helps, i have not had to dig into that issue yet

that panel still needs to come off just have to climb in the back. it was just easier to open the back window

sorry, I am not sure. I have not had to mess with the glass. I would guess it is the actuator. should be able to get to it with the panel off.

it seems that many manufacturers have gone to electric latches.
I replaced and still nothing. Maybe a wiring problem.
