Doc visits the Zoysia lawn which really is ugly and in bad shape. He stresses that there is no reason to wait to apply various products (with one exception) Apply everything that the lawn needs and start the watering process.

Question regarding dogs and killing lawn weeds. What products do you feel comfortable using on grass that dogs are using day in and day out? I have a pretty major weed issue in my backyard where my dogs are and I'm concerned about them with weed killers. Thanks for your help.
I know it is off topic for this video, but thanks to your videos, I am going to be buying my first Mclane reel mower. Going to go with the 25 inch with the Honda motor. Just finishing up my new build and the yard has Bermuda grass. I figured it would be a crime to use a regular push mower on it.

If you got Bahia grass keep it and encourage it’s like the most drought tolerant of all the warm season grasses. Down in Fl it’s used as a field grass cause it’s so tuff

Doc I follow the zoysia lawn guide program and yard looks spectacular, I put down the PGF complete 16-0-8 (I have high phosphorus per soil test) every 4 to 5 weeks and Superjuice in between the granular feedings. Question is it better to put the Superjuice down early morning or late afternoon, does it need to be watered in or left on the leaf. Did not see this addressed in the Superjuice videos. I apologize if I missed it in the videos
Could you go over fungicide and how much you used and will you spray again in 21days?

DOC!!! Please do an updated video on what grass seed is available to accommodate a hybrid, sod lawn. Arden 15, Princess etc is not available (As we all know). I clicked your link in your previous seed video that discusses Arden and the link on the video is directing folks to monaco and hollywood blend seeds which i feel might not be the right seed for a hybrid/sod bermuda lawn. i didn't notice until i received them and the seeds even look different.
Doc, I just had 20 loads of dirt brought in and some grading done. I raked it all (about 10k sq feet) to loosen it some. I spread zenith zoysia and then covered it with Soil3 from Super Sod. Keeping it nice and wet. However, I did not prep the way I should’ve due to time. Should my zoysia still come in and then I can manage it the way I need to?
Doc, you mentioned the neighbor's runners coming into your yard. What's a good strategy to prevent that from occurring? My neighbor's centipede grass is trying to take over my Bermuda grass. It's two different shades of green and is very noticeable. Drives me insane. Thanks
Hi Doc, Ive been researching your videos looking for guidance on improving my lawn. I have a Bermuda lawn and haven't applied any treatments as of yet. Does this video apply only to zoysia or does it apply to Bermuda also? Additionally is it too late in the year/ too hot to apply all treatments in one day? Any advice would be greatly appreciated 🙏🙏🙏
The lawn guides cover warm seasons but only specific types. Will there be something specific to St Augustine?
It's a strange year so far in NC. Cool temps on and off has stunted growth. Not one 90 degree day yet.
I'm trying to reno our backyard down here in Charlotte and I fear none of my Zoysia seed is germinating because of all the sub-60 degree nights!
Same in Virginia. Weather is just playing havoc on my St. Augustine and zoysia grass.
Same here, I'm in Smithfield, NC and tried seeding a 2000sf lot, 3 weeks have passed and no germination. :(

Use quinclorac. It’s selective and it does injure St. Augustine. I have the same issue of neighbors Aug runners coming under my fence. Hit it now

Doc. I applied your older how to fix an ugly lawn video (Curtain of Death) the first week in May. Applying both Pre-emergent, Post-emergent, Fertilizer (25-0-2), DuoCide, The Anderson's Fungus Control product (the name escapes me at the moment along with a 40 pound bag of HumiChar. I was so tired that I could barely move afterwards but it's finally starting to pay off. Neighbors and others have started to compliment me on how great my lawn looks. I have to admit it does look great but its not quite there yet. Applied my first coat of Superjuice yesterday.

@@daironhernandezperez8667 I just started watching Doc's videos about 2-3 months ago myself. I have been in my house since 6/2002. My yard had reached the point where it was easily one of if not the worst yard in the subdivision. Front yard sodded Bermuda had turned into Weed Armageddon. The other parts of my yard is the Zeneth Zoysia that I sowed in 2008. It was thick enough that the weeds had not taken over like they had in my Bermuda. One part of my yard had pretty much been taken over by Moss that had grown over the winter. Hard to kill.
I started by having a soil analysis to find out what caused the problem. Basically I had a VERY unhealthy lawn due in large part to my PH being so far off. Bermuda was 5.7 and everything else as 5.2-5.3. In order to correct all of the problems I purchased Lime from my local feed-n-seed store along with the hose end Spectricide and Image and started applying these products weekly until all of the lime outlined in my soil analysis. Then I started applying the weed killers. I still have a fair amount of Poa but that should soon die off as the weather starts warming up into the 80's.
Dairon, if you have sod there's not much you can do until after your sod goes dormant but water and mow. In the meantime you can determine your square footage and have a soil analysis prepared, Once your lawn has gone dormant you can apply the lime and start working on your soil's PH, Next apply your pre-emergent. I had never applied pre-emergent or lime to my yard before this year. Lesson learned the hard way.

@@Blingem14 I had already purchased a bag of Scott's Triple Action before I started watching Doc's videos so I used that since I already had it on hand. Prior to that application I had purchased a bag of Hy-Top's Pre-Emergent and two bags of Scott's Halt's that I had applied Mid-February.
I have ordered two bags of Barricade for my next application sometime around September or October. I had a massive and I mean massive weed problem in my yard since I had not had any pre-emergent applied to my yard in about 7-8 years.
Yard is slowly recovering but its going to be a long hard and slow crawl to get it back to what it once used to be, Right now the main problem is this weird weather we are having, Little rain and most of the yards here in Commerce are simply not growing due to the strange Spring weather.
I used Double Kill and it's definitely working but I still see moths popping out of the grass when I hose it down. Should I be worried?
What do you recommend for nutsedge? Its taken over my bermuda

Hey doc. Long time follower. I have a white haze on my new houses new lawn almost constantly despite cutting every 2-3 days with a reel mower I’ve had properly sharpened. It looks like a combo of dead clippings and long white seed heads. What is going on?? The lawn looks great if this white haze of clippings and white seed heads ever disappeared
I need to reseed grass. I thought the burmuda was coming back after freeze 2 years ago but was told it is crabgrass. I need to kill crab grass oan other weeds without effecting seed from growing. Mid TX. It has been cooler than normal.
When I use spray weed and feed I always use it on a warm to hot sunny day so it can dry on the leaves

I wish my lawn looked as good as what he calls a bad lawn. I’ve got weeds in spots of nothing but sand. They keep spraying the sky to the point that nothings growing and weeds are the strongest and hardest.

Had to go search for the link. amzn.to/3SPQQIb Just be aware that it may BROWN out grass so drag a tarp along as you spray. Rust goes away in 5 minutes but will return after a few months.

Dang it. I just put down dirt boaster and which one what's wrong with a little black balls? No no whether it's humanjor or Boucher anyway and then I came right behind it with dog gone dual side because. I had trouble. The last year with song this fungus and grubs so I also put down the Anderson's yeah I'll put down by 6 or 7 moments last 3 days. I don't remember which one it is anyways you telling me. I just messed up my little cool guys and my girl whenever it is. Man

@@HowTowithDoc, haha! Thank you for putting in the work! We have been trying to figure it what color it was for the past year. We looked at Sherwin-Williams, Lowes, and Home Depot but find it. Came close a couple of times, and settled on a light blue bit then the other houses around us started being painted blue.

St. Augustine can handle just about any fertilizer you throw at it. It should fill in nicely if you push it
