It’s one of Dirks personal boutique models apparently. I don’t know too much about it to be honest. Thanks for watching. Maybe somebody who is reading this comment could enlighten us.
Someone asked this on another post and they responded "the AMEK Mastering Compressor is based on a coveted piece of hardware privately-owned by Dirk Ulrich". lol. From the description, maybe part Fairchild or one of the 670 clones?
Anyone still using this regularly? Or have people reverted back to the classic format of dealing with compression? I do like how it responds but haven’t used it much lately
Ill try it out. They scare me recently…their amek eq 250 is nigh identical upon analysis to the 200. The most different thing about it is its skin. The q factor is slightlyyy different between the two (almost like so it can pass a null test). I feel like PA used to be way more solid. So i saw this and kind of said uh oh..but I can always try the demo. Thanks!
Hi ! Would you mind making a tutorial of a using the amek MC on one of the club tracks you master? Very interested on how you would “take the low end” as you say just bought this and still messing around with it but I make a lot of dubstep and hip hop stuff too
Hey dude, thank you for watching. I will add this to my list for sure. If I am to be totally honest, I prefer to not use compression in mastering, and I only really use it if there is an issue with the premaster.
Thanks for being this quick with a (small) review. House & Techno mostly here, and will be getting this: i subbed to 'forever29' with the intention to stop after a few codes, but the 'PA 2023 lineup' has soemt asty bits so i'm prolonging for now lol. Cheers
The sidechain options and detector view are really nice! Have you tried the Massenburg DesignWorks MDWDRC2 native? It's more expensive than most compressor plugins but it has some unique features and gets great reviews.
Hey buddy, thanks for watching. It is being released today at some point. I am not sure which timezone they are on as they have offices in Germany and the US. But their Facebook page says it is released today if you check the header picture.
Sounds good, I like the distressor-ish side chain. I use the Acustica Green Zen compressor which is a GML2030. This seems to be similar to that. Not a fan of the PA Amek EQ's, I prefer the Soma. But to be honest I use PA plugins for mixing, for mastering I mainly use Acustica. But this did sound good, I'll probably buy it in 12 months when it's on sale for $30 😂
Honestly...I don't use it. I think maybe I have reached for it once or twice in all this time. It's decent, I just have other go-to compressors that do the same job and I am used to them, I know how to push them, when to use them. If it can be bought for $30USD, it is worth getting it, but otherwise, I think it is an "ok" compressor.
hasnt been updated in 10 years - GUI is non macOS compliant - can be disregeraded until PA puts some work into it - buyers have been asking them for ages - they have done NOTHING....
Which exact compressor is it modelled on?

@@SG-4u Yes as far as I know it’s straight from Dirks collection.
It's modeled after a GML 8900, with some Neve inspiration and some added BX features. ✌️
@@bx_dirk2771 Thanks mate.
The plugin is Crazyyyyyyyyy🔥

It's got all the bells and whistles, I just think it is overly complicated. I don't use it much. It's very specific.
Great review mate! Mooore.
Thanks dude. Thank you for watching.

Exactly dude, the wonders of the modern age. Demo it and decide. Thanks for watching.

I haven’t tried that. I will check it out. Thanks for the tip and thanks for watching.
I don't see it on the Plugin Alliance website yet.
Any idea when the official release will be ?

It’s definitely a winner for me. Thanks for watching.
Looks dope!
will compare against kotelnikov ge. looks to me a lot of the same features but more difficult to use here.
Yes Kotelnikov is great!

Yep
So there is a sale going on recently, this bad boy for $30, I’ve been demoing it, still getting a handle of it. For 30 you guys think it’s worth it??
100%. Well worth that.
