I know a few songs of both Massive Attack and Portishead- love playing trip hop music style! Bristol again like Reading has a wonderful mix of buildings of both new and old, different building materials and types. About the cobbled streets, I can relate to that being in Hull, where there the Old Town Quarter has got cobbled roads - feels exactly as you described, plus like walking on a pebble surfaced beach. Banksy still my favourite artist and can make any architecture, even the ugliest, look aesthetically marvellous.
Ohh I remember the day when his first mural arrived to Reading, brought me a lot of joy during the misery of the 3rd lockdown. It is reassuring it's now been restored and protected with a glass shield
    Brilliant video

Thanks Peter! The place is like Reading indeed! I never thought of it, but you are right: Reading is like mini-Bristol

@@mikebogatyrev3058 Having recently performed a gig with my band, Goodnight Vincent, during early September I got some rly nice pics of the riverside area where the dock cranes are - whilst listening to Massive Attack songs. Sadly couldn't get to see the whole city attractions because 1: I had a gig and 2: it was very rainy and humid the next day (hi humidity bad for asthma) but one thing which was brilliant was the Radisson hotel I stayed in. Comfortable bed with aircon helping me to relieve from my asthma (dry air) AND FANTASTIC breakfast that had gluten free vegan blueberry muffins that tasted unreal - took one for the journey to Leicester and Northampton (hotel accommodation) on that day

Being a pipe and cigar smoker, a considerable amount of the charm I experienced as a resident of the Bristol/Bath area (Chew Magna), in the 80's is lost. No allure going to the pub, sitting around swilling wallop without enjoying a few bowls of tobacco. Damn shame.

Cannot believe that this is literally around the corner. Bristol is close to Bath, but we always thought that there is no place in the UK, nicer than Bath. You made us doubt. Thank you, Mike and Vera.

I loved this video and your appreciation of the uniqueness of its old architecture compared to elsewhere! Shame you couldn’t have a look around Clifton or Montpelier you can really see the contrast of Georgian and modern there! Plus always a fault with the UK, always looks 100% better in the summer haha

Thank you David! Yes, the weather is the key: sometimes it looks so beautiful for few minutes and then it’s back.

I mean, Massive attack's version of Spying Glass with Horace Andy literally encapsulates Bristol by night! But to be fair, every English city looks similar!

Thank you! I think it’s so cool to see the cities where the bands are from: it kind of shows the atmosphere where they grew up and lived and what shaped their music

@@mikebogatyrev3058 That's of course true but it is also relative and very subjective for the listener and the environment that he got to experience an album which could be a different country all together, different season etc!
