The art is what really keeps me in this hobby. This may be an unpopular opinion but I think the gouging fire sir and Koraidon sir are one of the best artwork. I really enjoy floral art or jungle themed cards. They were really well done.
A lot of the best artwork is not in the AR/IR, SAR cards. In fact, virtually none of my top 20 arts of this gen are full card art cards. Just because it's a common card, with a box art work, doesn't limit how good the art is.
I think the gardevoir doesn't exist on its own. I like to see the charizard, gardevoir and mew ex as a whole. That is how i collected them and stored them.
How could you not put Espathra Illustration Rare from Paradox Rift on here... by far the best art in all of Scarlet and Violet and it's only like $4. Goes hard for no reason
Very solid line up except for the chamander at #3 that’s a big no no, I would personally put the greeninja at #3 and that charmander might not even be on my top 10 or at least at #10. Grusha is kinda mid too. I would have put the eevee card from twilight masquerade instead
I just pulled the gardevoir and man Im shocked it isn't over $100 , absolutely gorgeous card. The mew is cute , and i originally wanted the mew more, but having pulled the gardevoir, I changed my mind. Charizard is just overhyped and overrated as usual.
Some cards that i think belong in this list (or an extended version of it): - Koraidon Ex from base Scarlet - Ninetales/Gloom/Cleffa from Obsidian Flames - Omanyte from 151, possibly Dragonair too - Roaring Moon, Golisopod, Groudon from Paradox Rift - Walking, Raging, Gouging and Gastly from Temporal Forces - Kingdra promo coming up
the Grusha art by DOM is pretty underrated also is a must for Eeveelution collectors bc it has a Glaceon on the top window that alot of people dont notice
You might want to include Steelix from Paradox Rift for your next cards under ______ to buy. It recently spiked in price and the artwork is gorgeous too. I've always enjoyed artworks that feature Pokemon doing everyday stuff in society. It really shows how integral they are to their world and not just for sports and battling. On another note, Akira Egawa also did the artwork for the 4 stunning gold legendaries for Crown Zenith (Gira, Arceus, Dial and Palk).
I’ve got all of these but #1. Love these cards but I really think Charizard and Venusaur from 151 are easily up there for me. Never cared too much for Gardevoir as a Pokémon but I think I like the base set SIR over Paldean Fates.
I bought the magikarp in Japanese PSA 10 because the English version is so expensive, I didn't realise untill I got the card that Gyarados body is across the whole top of the card🔥
Being a photographer myself, I really rated a lot of these choices. I’ve always loved that Grusha because of the spectacular branch framing of the subject. If you know you know!
I’d probably put that charmander and blastoise in there. 151 wartortal, squirtle, alakazam, machoke I’m big fan of. Sudowoodo PAL, ninetales, Cleffa, OBF, snorunt, Groudon PAR. Froslass, Growlithe, applin, Tumburr TWM. Some of my favourites, but there’s so many good ones.
I used to buy cards that I thought looked great, now we’re at the point where the majority look great and I’m trying to decide which I’d prefer. 😅 I know I’m in the minority here, but I think the Blastoise from 151 is a bit overrated, I think the Venusaur is the premier chase art wise.
Amazing list, some cards that I love that were not mentioned are: SIR Koraidon ex, Ting lu ex, and Chien Pao ex, Roaring Moon ex, Zapdos ex SIR, Nidoking Sv151 IR, Fuecoco PAL IR! these are all great tho
Gardevoir Ex from scarlet and violet base should be on this list!! It's a card that just pops and you can gaze at its such a lovely card especially in person! And very unique! Can't believe it's so cheap really.
scarlet violet is so underrated. really hate to see what happens when the supply dries up and reprints are done. bc sv will just smoke straight to the upside and esp if you have discipline to just throw it on your shelf and forget it. I dont think ppl will believe we were really buying these boxes at 80 and below
Philips wow this gardevoir ex is extremely amazing!!! But i have to say bcs i invest and collect black Star promos , the charmander promo is for sure my next buy when i can😊 If we cant buy the stamp version you think is bad the classic one; i think still a awesome card for the future
I’ll never be able to afford buying single chase cards but I love the descriptions you give on each of them. Makes me wish I had more disposable income hahaha
When I’m watching your videos, there is so much I want to comment or add to. I choose not to so my comments arnt too long. I love the artwork you have chosen. I don’t even think I have seen that toadscruel before. I looked at the artist and it’s the same guy that created the moonbreon. Great content as always.
So happy Paldea evolved gets finally some respect. I absolutely love this set, would it even rate it higher than chilling reign or even astral radiance. This set is enormous and hard to master completely, it has so so many beautiful artworks including mewscarada, grusha and even amura. So happy to have a complete Masterset of it and I'm happy to pass it some day to my son. 😊❤
No one ever seems to point out that there’s a gyarados in the background of the magikarp card. I think that makes the card so much cooler when you actually find the gyarados
I couldn’t agree more! The level of artwork and details in these sets has been nothing short of amazing. I see people mentioning so many other cards and I think it just highlights your point about how many amazing cards we have to pick from now!
great list and perspective. an underrated art imo is gouging fire ex. beautiful colors and its the most catlike ive ever seen entei (that whole trio are cats idc)
This was a fantastic list! We need more recognition and discussion about the art itself. My favorite card art of all time is the Origin Forme Dialga V from Astral.
I am happy to own three of these, and for the Gardevoir to be #1. I'd have found a way to squeeze the PAR Garchomp ex SIR in there, but that's just me 😉
Grusha is such a well done piece of art! It’s framed to draw your eyes into the Trainer, and then you see she is looking outward, and thus, her gaze then draws your eyes out the window to spot the pair of Starly that you totally bypassed when first looking in toward the window. Truly one of the best pieces of SV.
I still haven’t pulled that Magikarp. As soon as I saw that card on the release I knew that would be one of the top 3 cards of the Scarlet and Violet era. I want that Greninja too.
Fully agree with the Iron Crown take. As someone who grew up on gen 5, it’s nice to see Pokemon from that time thrive (even if Iron Crown isn’t technically gen 5) and is SO refreshing to see something like this as a set’s chase card
Really a great list, thank you very much. It's exciting to see cards and illustrations from a different perspective, not whether this Pokemon is particularly popular, but whether this exact design is good and may be popular in the future!
I agree that we haven't seen the "best" set yet. I am excited to see it tho, especially because S&V has been truly stunning art wise already. Imagine a Tag Team set or something like that. 😮
I was afraid that Gardevoir was not going to make the list. It's my favorite in SV as well, so glad I pulled it. Absolutely beautiful. I love the alt art era and the 3 stage lines of cards as well. The Fuecoco, Pidgey, and Ralts art lines are really cool along with the upcoming Duskull family.
I love these pics man! The analysis you give when talking about them is so insightful too, I feel like I learn something every time you talk about artistic design and approach. Keep up the great content man!
Emily and I share a deep appreciation for full art Pokémon cards. Recently, we've started a journey to collect all the cards in Pokédex order, and we love upgrading base cards with full art or alternative artwork versions. We also have a special fondness for trainer galleries. Your video showcasing those full art cards was fantastic! Keep up the great work-you're awesome!
The art’s keeps getting better and better as we go
They really do! It’s interesting to see what direction they’ll take future sets.
How is the nintales not on here…
The one from Obsidian Flames? If so that card is chefs kiss
The art is what really keeps me in this hobby. This may be an unpopular opinion but I think the gouging fire sir and Koraidon sir are one of the best artwork. I really enjoy floral art or jungle themed cards. They were really well done.

This is true.
One of my favourite cards is the loudred illustration rare from Paradox rift. Such an amazing use of colours
Bro ypu forgot the Ninetales AR easily could have been an SAR
I think the gardevoir doesn't exist on its own. I like to see the charizard, gardevoir and mew ex as a whole. That is how i collected them and stored them.
I love that gardevoir art, i really wanna get one in my collection soon.
One of my favourites for sure!
Some of my personal favorites IRs are the OBF Cleffa IR, PAR Espathra IR, PAR Iron Moth IR, and OBF Ninetales IR
Awesome picks!
I pulled the fish, it's a beautiful card , I just don't care for the pokemon.
Glory of team rocket will be the evo/ cosmic
How could you not put Espathra Illustration Rare from Paradox Rift on here... by far the best art in all of Scarlet and Violet and it's only like $4.
Goes hard for no reason

For sure there’s so many good artworks. I love the Grusha 😅.
Appreciate you tuning in!
Espathea is a sleeper, artwork looks amazing and you can grab one in a PSA 10 for almost nothing. I would say ivysaur and dragonair are worth adding
What an awesome pick!
Like tge background of iron crown
I just pulled the gardevoir and man Im shocked it isn't over $100 , absolutely gorgeous card. The mew is cute , and i originally wanted the mew more, but having pulled the gardevoir, I changed my mind. Charizard is just overhyped and overrated as usual.
Some cards that i think belong in this list (or an extended version of it):

- Roaring Moon, Golisopod, Groudon from Paradox Rift
- Walking, Raging, Gouging and Gastly from Temporal Forces
- Kingdra promo coming up
Charizard 234 palden fates
Yeah that’s also an incredible artwork.
the Grusha art by DOM is pretty underrated also is a must for Eeveelution collectors bc it has a Glaceon on the top window that alot of people dont notice
I want that gardevoir ex soooo bad, but I can't justify 50 bucks for it.
100% super expensive!
You might want to include Steelix from Paradox Rift for your next cards under ______ to buy. It recently spiked in price and the artwork is gorgeous too. On another note, Akira Egawa also did the artwork for the 4 stunning gold legendaries for Crown Zenith (Gira, Arceus, Dial and Palk).
Incredible. Such a talented artist!
Yugioh has better artwork
The best looking card for me so far is the Drowzee from Base Set :) Love it!!!
I’ve got all of these but #1. Love these cards but I really think Charizard and Venusaur from 151 are easily up there for me. Never cared too much for Gardevoir as a Pokémon but I think I like the base set SIR over Paldean Fates.
The base set SIR is also gorgeous. To be fair Gardevoir has been shown a lot of love in Scarlet & Violet Era!
I bought the magikarp in Japanese PSA 10 because the English version is so expensive, I didn't realise untill I got the card that Gyarados body is across the whole top of the card🔥
Such a cool little detail!
My brother in christ, obsidian Ninetales??
Yeah I know I know….such a sick artwork.
Being a photographer myself, I really rated a lot of these choices. I’ve always loved that Grusha because of the spectacular branch framing of the subject. If you know you know!
100% bro! Love the Grusha
It’s all personal preference, I’d disagree with most of this list. That Magickarp card is legendary tho
Yeah fair enough all subjective. Whats your favourite artworks?
I’d probably put that charmander and blastoise in there. 151 wartortal, squirtle, alakazam, machoke I’m big fan of. Sudowoodo PAL, ninetales, Cleffa, OBF, snorunt, Groudon PAR. Froslass, Growlithe, applin, Tumburr TWM. Some of my favourites, but there’s so many good ones.

I know I’m in the minority here, but I think the Blastoise from 151 is a bit overrated, I think the Venusaur is the premier chase art wise.
Love your point of view and insight into the artwork. Thank you. Another great video.
Thanks for tuning in!
151 dragonair number 1 😅
Gorgeous artwork as well. That’s the thing, Scarlet & Violeta Era has so many great artworks!
The Gardevoir SIR is one of the few cards I instantly had to get a single of from the S&V Era so far. Was so happy to see it at first place 😂
That Toedscruel with the Dutch angle would be absolutely perfect if were illustrated by Komiya, an eerie masterpiece
I dont think ppl will believe we were really buying these boxes at 80 and below
you forgot about drowzee in sv1en and how about he tortured and freaked out all the people from the park!! nica art from komiya also
have been keeping quiet about the great tusk myself.
love the donphan alternative and its one of my all time favourite cards
The great tusk is underrated
Love that card!
Consider the mimikyu promo from paldea fates etb as another contender
Philips wow this gardevoir ex is extremely amazing!!! But i have to say bcs i invest and collect black Star promos , the charmander promo is for sure my next buy when i can😊
If we cant buy the stamp version you think is bad the classic one; i think still a awesome card for the future
100%! That’s a great buy. Well done bro!
Im holding off my money for December/early 2025
The art rares (the common ones) really rejuvenated the tcg.
The Toedscruel art has "The War of the Worlds" vibe.
I’ll never be able to afford buying single chase cards but I love the descriptions you give on each of them. Makes me wish I had more disposable income hahaha
Budget and restraint my man!
Great list! One more card that I would add is the Miraidon S&V base set promo.
Good call! Love that card.
I love the artwork in this era! I wish I actually could afford to really buy more into it, unfortunately I'm collecting on a budget
Well done for knowing your limitations. Thats more important than owning cards.
Why do his arms flail about the whole vid?!
When I’m watching your videos, there is so much I want to comment or add to. I choose not to so my comments arnt too long. I love the artwork you have chosen. I don’t even think I have seen that toadscruel before. I looked at the artist and it’s the same guy that created the moonbreon. Great content as always.
I appreciate that Samer! Nice pick up! Thanks for tuning in.
The Toedscruel was the first illustration rare I pulled after I got back into the hobby and I think it is badass.
Great card! Love it.
I love that paradox rift groudon 😍🥰
Toedscrool gives war of the worlds vibes
hi man! What do you think about Urshifu s5R 084 from the set Rapid Srike Master? do you think it's a good investment? you're always 🔛🔝
I love that card!
I wanna trade my gardy for the magicarp
So happy Paldea evolved gets finally some respect. I absolutely love this set, would it even rate it higher than chilling reign or even astral radiance. 100% agree! Love it
The greninja looks like paint
No one ever seems to point out that there’s a gyarados in the background of the magikarp card. I think that makes the card so much cooler when you actually find the gyarados
So cool. I love the gyrados within the back!
Some rly nice cards here 🌱
I couldn’t agree more! The level of artwork and details in these sets has been nothing short of amazing. I see people mentioning so many other cards and I think it just highlights your point about how many amazing cards we have to pick from now!
There’s too many to choose from, making a list is very challenging!
I’ve gotta be honest, as someone who OWNS Gardevoir SIR, it being #1 doesn’t make much sense to me. Raging Bolt was what I thought should’ve been #1.
The summer colours are so food on it
great list and perspective. an underrated art imo is gouging fire ex. beautiful colors and its the most catlike ive ever seen entei (that whole trio are cats idc)
Couldn't agree more!
The chi yu is so nostalgic
Great video!
I opened a ton of paldean fates and my only BIG pull that Gardevoir. Graded it and hit the 10 👌
That’s a keeper! Is it staying in the collection?
@phillips.collectibles yessir I've definitely grown attatched to it so I'll be keeping in my collection but if I pull another definitely selling
This was a fantastic list! We need more recognition and discussion about the art itself.
My favorite card art of all time is the Origin Forme Dialga V from Astral.
I am happy to own three of these, and for the Gardevoir to be #1.

I love the approach, artworks are insane in this generation and somehow most of them are underrated ...
Really a great list, thank you very much. It's exciting to see cards and illustrations from a different perspective, not whether this Pokemon is particularly popular, but whether this exact design is good and may be popular in the future!
These are all definitely great pickups

Fingers crossed!

I love these pics man! The analysis you give when talking about them is so insightful too, I feel like I learn something every time you talk about artistic design and approach. Keep up the great content man!
I appreciate that!
Bro does not like carmine
Not a huge fan no
@@phillips.collectibles I’m bias pulled it from one etb waiting for it to come back to psa lol
