Can you make a theory video on what if all the Spartan 2’s survived the argumentation and no budget cut and they had 300 Spartan 2’s to take down the insurgency and covenant
Hidden I know you hate redoing the story but imagine they give us the original halo 2 Bungie imagined for us giving us this level with high budget cutscenes and this ending with Tartarus keeping the secrets!!! Dude it writes itself Bungie left ideas on the board unexplored, missions, cutscenes, characters, races all that could be used. No more about the Prometheans but more about the covenant maybe even a mission where Atriox is referenced or we fight the banished as a covenant character like the arbiter!!!!
Tarturus being the one to kill the heretic leader makes so much more sense So much more than the heretic leader allowing 343 guilty spark to reveal Halo's true purpose and then randomly attack the arbiter mid explanation I know some people say it wouldn't have mattered, and Arbiter would've never considered turning on the prophets this early in the story, but with him being killed by the Brutes completely removes this condundrum, now Arbiter can look back on this action taken by the brutes and how the heretic leader was silenced and make him begin to realize not all is as it seems, both before and after Tarturus's and Truth's betrayal
to me it wasnt a betrayal per say it was a thing were the prophets went like if we cant have u noone else can bc tartarus and the elites were fighting on the power supremacy not hate as if a kid disobeyed their parents he gets spanked for fightin with his brother but the council tried to force prohpets to mantain their power by quitting and tartarus agreeing with generic halo infinite villian brute as they felt unfair treatment on elites hands and the elites felt underaprecciated and i also belive that elites skull on tartarus shoulder plate is heretic leaders but thats just me
Not only that, it would have took place in the control room where Master Chief also learned the purpose of Halo, mirroring the first game. Would have been fun to see @HiddenXperia react to that but he missed that detail in his play through.
The truth being silenced would make someone question. "why are they not letting me hear what the other side has to say? What's so wrong with hearing them out?" its common with cults that hearing the other sides opinion is seen as evil because it will contradict their cult of lies as its based on emotion and corruption not on real facts.
You missed this little detail but you can actually go up to the mortar cannons and place a little covenant charge in the power source and it’ll count down in covenant
Idk man, I feel like in vanilla halo 2, arbiter and the spec ops elites already fighting in a gas giant with no life support systems, unlike the heretic elites, is already silly
I mean he could have used the Seraph fighter. Thats probably why that room existed in the first place before it got changed into the boss fight room. Was probably supposed to take the fighter to their base on Alpha Moon. The level was probably just cut due to the extreme time crunch Bungie was under at the time
@@halo43v3r7777 And I also find it weird that the Heretic Leader apparently had no idea the Arbiter was following him until he reached the Flood Containment wing. I think before he boards his banshee, he'd acknowledge the Arbiter and tell his soldiers to kill him. "I wondered who the Prophets would send to silence me. An Arbiter. I'm flattered. Deal with him, my brothers, I will defend the Oracle!"
I knew the pizza cutter on Burial Mounds was meant to be wreckage, but I never realised how obvious the resemblance was to structures from the Silent Cartographer!
A thematic point i dont think you really touched on was the fact that the wreckage of Installation 04 that you fight through is a direct representation of Thel's failure. The huge shard, almost like a headstone, punishing him and reminding him of why he wears the armour hes been entombed in. Also, iirc that final arena you fight the Heretic Leader in is Alpha Halo's Control Room, heavily damaged and laying on its side. Another thematic point here is the very same room in which Master Chief learned the truth about Halo, the Arbiter was sent to silence the truth about Halo.
I don't remember who, but one of the Halo 2 devs had confirmed in an interview that you are totally right: the vehicle section in Quarantine Zone was their way of reusing as much of Alpha Moon as they could (I think he said something like "85% of the geometry"). You can see the broken piece of building that you run across in Sacred Icon as soon as you get out the wall in this level for example (around where you mention the debris being meant to be pieces from the Halo)
The Arbiter must have felt terrible guilt afterwards when he discovered that the "Heretics" were actually fighting for truth and justice. He must have felt great respect for Sesa Refumee and his brave followers.

There’s a fracture where Xperia is playing through an unreleased level called “Oracle”. I can hear him talking about how the level must’ve been cut early due to multiple sections of just sitting in elevators and how the heretic leader started shooting at Arbiter out of nowhere.
You know what would've been sick for games after the events of Halo 3, a full on Arbiter playthrough. Give the Chief era a break for a little bit and take the players on a voyage to Sanghelios and other Covenant owned colonies. Halo 4, 5, and Infinite could've been SOOO much different.
@@mrschizo2837No, because a full covenant campaign means no human weapons, which kills the whole weapon sandbox that is part of what makes Halo so great
Not really. Bungie wanted to make a game beyond the hardware capabilities of the xbox. They had to scrap a lot because the game they wanted needed time and technology that wasn’t ready yet
@@HyperShadow991Regardless of the specific release deadline, the real issue was putting it on the Xbox in the first place. Even if Microsoft gave them more time, it wouldn’t have changed much as far as what Halo 2 is on a technical level. They needed the 360. And it sounds like a long wait but considering Halo 2 was going to be absolutely massive, basically 2 and 3 combined and then some, a 5-6 year wait is about right. I can’t say definitively that I wish that’d happened, just because I love Halo 2 and 3 so much already, but as far as Bungie executing their ideal Halo 2, waiting until they could get their hands on a 360 dev kit would’ve been the best bet. They were just too good for their time.
There should have been an energy sword duel between the Arbiter the the Heretic Leader at the end. That would've been amazing. And honestly, I'd prefer this over The Oracle
I’ve always dreamed of seeing an alternate reality Halo 2 where they had enough time to complete their original ambitions… it seems this is becoming a reality thanks to awesome fans creators.
4:02 I was very much reminded of classic Star Wars battlefront 2, specifically the announcer for when you played as a clone. "A command post has been lost, but not the battle!"
If the Halo CE remake is succesful, they should do the same with Halo2 but make the Halo 2 Bungie couldnt 20 years ago. That would justify a 70 dollar price tag. Just treat it as its own canon.
Something I don't know if you noticed, or at least didn't acknowledge, was the fact that the little fight at the end with the heretic leader takes place in a tilted sideways CE control center. It's hard to take it in since you're fighting but in the cutscene at 17:15 you can see where the bridge to the core and the door to go outside was on the ceiling.
I have to buy MCC a third time so I can play the steam workshop mods. I originally owned it on my xbox way before it was on PC, then they said we'd have to buy it for PC also. I think Alpha moon was genius since it would have hammered home the fact that you're walking in your failure to protect Halo as Arbi. Still great to finally play it even if it's 20 years late to the party.
Whoever is in charge of Halo needs to reboot the series from this point (Halo 2). It’s the only thing that can save it. I’ve been saying this FOR YEARS.
So true. Halo 3 was a good game, but the story really wasn't the best part of that game. The gameplay and multiplayer held it up, but the plot was kind of shallow and sometimes annoying.
The dialogue you missed- after 7:03: (Context: half-Jaw(?) gets interrupted on the comms or in person over the comms. Then...) Elite A: "Deployed(?) weapons are ready." Elite B: "Those aren't my orders." Elite A: "He is the Arbiter. Which you (/watchyu) expect(?)"
(Star wars yuuzhan vs halo) Elite: DEMON!!! vong: HERETIC!!! (vong in star trek ) Borg: Resistance is futile Vong: ABOMINABLE INTELLIGENCE!!! Imperium of man: STOP STEALING MY RACISM AND MY LINES!!!!
My first introduction to the Halo series was Quarantine Zone. My brother and cousin were playing it on co-op and one of them had to leave for some reason. I immediately became obsessed with Halo 2, then went back and played original.
this idea of AA guns was reused in the Storm/Tip of the Spear, no? The control room wreckage at 17:38 looks so sick imagine how this would've been with Bungie's polish :O
Definitely like that the AA turret idea was carried over into later games into the series. So many ideas that didn't make the cut of halo 2's crazy crunch showed up later.
5:27 & 5:51 Exactly - Burial Mounds - now I revisit it, the Official Guide says of that map "This makeshift Heretic Camp on Basis is littered with wreckage from the destruction of Installation 04"...I need to read things more carefully...we SHOULD have known that the stuff was from the destroyed Halo ring...
I love how it ends narratively. Much more fitting for sure. Makes sense why the original heretic not allowing arbiter to hear guilty spark and shooting him instead makes no sense.
What if halo 2 released in the state Bungie wanted it to? Honestly I think it wouldn't have changed much the game is still one of the best things in my childhood. Edit: They really didn't lie when they said they wanted maps as big or bigger than halo ce. Also funny seeing tartar sauce snipe the heretic leader, since he gets sniped by Johnson constantly at the control room. Foreshadowing maybe?
I was thinking about this earlier. I'm almost upset that so much has been revealed about Halo 2 as far as cut content, because honestly I believe Halo 2 was absolutely perfect the way it was.
I think a lot of this content is awesome, but inferior to the actual game that got released. The Warthog run on High Charity is cool, but ruins the pacing and cutscene following it. Alpha Moon changes the final duel with the Heretic Leader. It's much cooler to duel and kill the Heretic Leader while the facility is falling into the storm after cutting the cables. That is for more cinematic
This level works so much better thematically than Heretic. Walking through the destruction of Alpha Halo as a lead up to the Heretic's reveal of the prophets lies, just for him to get cut short by Tarturus. You can tell Bungie had big aspirations for Halo 2's narrative.
Please, future Halo games, give us more playable Arbiter and Elite focused missions. The completely alien related missions like The Arbiter and Uprising were among my favourite missions in the trilogy, I was so sad when Halo 3 no longer had Arbiter missions or the ability to play as him outside of co-op (which I could never do anyway because I had no one to play co-op with).
The shield walls appear to use modified Leech boarding craft hulls (the cut exterior of the boarding craft seen in CE's opening level) in addition to the upscaled Jackal shields acting as barriers for the level.
Honestly I prefer the original ending having Tartarus the brutes kill him kinda gives the arbiter this what is going on and omg realization when they eventually do betray the elites, also a good nod and callback to when chief learned the truth in that exact same control room weeks prior. I do hope we forerunner tank and the ship mission
Correct. The Beyond Thunderdome thing is actually from the 3rd film in the "Mad Max" movies. I love them all but 'Thunderdome' delivers so hard and realises its setting most completely!
After consuming all of this cut content especially for Halo 2, it makes me wonder why these missions and areas such as the Halo 2 warthog run were cut especially when they were already so polished. I truly believe Halo 2 would have been even more of a giant of a title if content like this remained, there’s a lot of cut content I really enjoyed
i really thougth that it was after heretic leader sent his holograms to fight the arbiter he took 343 GS with him out of that facility on the seraph bc those banshees werent able to do space flight only orbital unlike the seraph who can travel between planets but what do i know?
It’s even cooler when you think about it like the fact that this is the arbiter walking through out his failure and the reason for him becoming the arbiter in the first place We also need a full halo 1 to reach story boards as commics

The control room wreckage at 17:38 looks so sick imagine how this would've been with Bungie's polish :O
Cool detail: The final boss fight room seems to be a control room, possibly what remains of the control room from Combat Evolved.
2024 is full of wins right now...I man that's greatly exaggerated but still holy shit dig site team
That classic Carbine sound made my eyes roll back into my head. **sigh** So good.
Just finished playing through it myself and just couldn’t stop smiling.
Definitely like that the AA turret idea was carried over into later games into the series. So many ideas that didn't make the cut of halo 2's crazy crunch showed up later.
My friends. I quite literally cannot find words to correctly express how epic this is. Thank you Luc😊
Man, at this point, I need them to release the FULL GAME that Bungie originally intended. This all looks SO sick, I love it.
I love how it ends narratively. Much more fitting for sure. Makes sense why the original heretic not allowing arbiter to hear guilty spark and shooting him instead makes no sense.
The Necrons: the ground you tread on is not yours
Star wars And halo and mass effect, and Star Trek. And starcraft:💀💀
This is so cool. I really feel like Halo 2 needed this or a level like it for the Arbiter. His story was far too Flood focused in the base game
I love how Halo 2 had the Halo ring hexagons that were all over infinite 👀
God I miss Covenant story missions. These were always so interesting.
Gotta be honestly, i was more in awe of the bump on his face
"Do you know where we are?" " The mausoleum, of the arbiter" "Quite So"
6:43 that was the coolest entrance I've seen in halo
Please, future Halo games, give us more playable Arbiter and Elite focused missions. The completely alien related missions like The Arbiter and Uprising were among my favourite missions in the trilogy, I was so sad when Halo 3 no longer had Arbiter missions or the ability to play as him outside of co-op (which I could never do anyway because I had no one to play co-op with).
Man, imagine if bungie were allowed to cook
The shield walls appear to use modified Leech boarding craft hulls (the cut exterior of the boarding craft seen in CE's opening level) in addition to the upscaled Jackal shields acting as barriers for the level.
‘Rtas’ voice here sounds kinda like the Elite narrator in the Return motion comic. I dig it.
3:29 this is where they first used the idea for destroying that gun emplacement in halo 3!!!!!!!!
Man arby cant catch a break. A whole level to remind him of how how hard he got beat in halo 1.
This level gives me H3 vibes with how expansive it is
It's like if The Arc was made in Halo 2
After consuming all of this cut content especially for Halo 2, it makes me wonder why these missions and areas such as the Halo 2 warthog run were cut especially when they were already so polished. I truly believe Halo 2 would have been even more of a giant of a title if content like this remained, there’s a lot of cut content I really enjoyed
Half-Jaw's early voice doesn't beat his current voice, but *damn* I like his SW Battlefront II -esque voice
i really thougth that it was after heretic leader sent his holograms to fight the arbiter
he took 343 GS with him out of that facility on the seraph
bc those banshees werent able to do space flight only orbital unlike the seraph who can travel between planets
but what do i know?
It’s even cooler when you think about it like the fact that this is the arbiter walking through out his failure and the reason for him becoming the arbiter in the first place
We also need a full halo 1 to reach story boards as commics
